- Aikya is a special concert curated by First Edition Arts featuring a unique first ever collaboration between TM Krishna and the amazing Nadhaswara vidwans Sheik Mahaboob Subhani and Smt. Kaleeshabi Mahaboob. The husband and wife team were recently awarded the Padma Shri on Republic Day 2020.
In this video they perform Jagadodharana, a kriti composed by Purandara Dasa in Ragam Kapi.
They were supported by Akkarai Subhalakshmi on violin, Praveen Sparsh on mridangam and BS Purushotham on kanjira.

Yes, my Dad and my brother are pure vegetarians. They never eat cakes and biscuits because of the egg in them. We have two kitchens at our home with two different vessels for veg and non-veg. Even the Dosa pan we use are two different ones.
Muslims being vegetarian does not change the nature of Islam which is based on hatred for Mushriqun such as Hindus. Jihad against Kafir is a central tenet of Islam. It is the destruction wrought by Muslims on Hindu Culture that is the focal point here. No self-respecting Hindu will pay respects to Allah or Mohammed and to those people who swear by their commandments.

This is how Hinduism or any other religion should be experienced not through aggressive dominance over any other religion thoughts caste creed or cult, andhbhakts should learn from this. This is a Kannada song I assume he may not know the language but how beautifully recited it and the other artists did put me in a state of trance!
what a treat. Nadaswaram finally has been given a prominent platform in a full fledged concert. I congratulate all the organizers and TMK. A song on Lord Krishna in a church with two prominent vidwans of Muslim community there cannot be a better message than this.

Vasudevan Seshadri This is not first time TMK bring Nadaswaram back to mainstream stage performances. TMK talked about Nadhaswaram importance and contribution of certain communities in the past in his national television interviews. This is always in his mind. I really like the people who live what they talk. Amidst scores of Carnatic musicians, how many dare to do this. Those musicians will put their own communal feeling ahead of music. But TMK has shown well deserved respect to the fellow artists. Akkarai’s support to this is laudable too.
Music is divine. Divinity is the basic of hindu music. Carnatic or hindustani it is divine and music breath and life of Hinduism and accommodates any faith on Almighty through its rich rendition. Caste creed language no bar. Plenty and variety is its nerve. However it is ordainment and blessing on one to flourish in it with dedication and divine souls do appreciate and surrender to the divinity. Again it is all almightys blessings to be on the side of rending soulfully and enjoying in totality
What a bloody tragedy! Instead of enjoying the music we see location of a church and a Muslim playing… I am not exactly sure when sheikh Chinna Maulana played nadaswaram if anyone bothered about his religion

Music has no barrier as to religion or creed or faith and the artists on the dais forget their identities except that of an artist while performing and thus become brothers and sisters and India/Bharath must keep this ever going to sustain Democracy.

The Padmashri Award winning couple are famous for their empathy as well. It was 2020 Thyagaraja Araadhana Festival at Thiruvayyar, and my wife and I drove from Guntur to participate in it. Fortunately, we met this couple, who gifted us a VIP pass and we were fortunate enough to sing in the concert. It was our first visit and you know how many thousands throng the music festival .🙏

Very delightful to hear this famous Keerthana of Purandara dhasar when sung or played on any instrument and is all the more enchanting when accomplished artistes sing or play. it on nadaswaram. The lady's alabana is really delightful. Purandaradasar composed this song in the famous Aprameya temple at Chennapatna in praise of Lord Krishna. Purandara dasar was none but Naradha. I am sure he himself would be delighted to hear this lady's delicate handling of the ragha which is praiseworthy for more than one reason. God bless the couple.

நாதஸ்வரம் என்பது மிகவும் தொன்மையான மற்றும் பாரம்பரிய மிக்க ஒரு இசைக்கருவி ஆகும் . இந்த மங்களவாத்தியத்திற்கு அதிகம் முக்கியத்துவம் தந்து கச்சேரிகளிலும் வாசிக்கப்பட வேண்டும் (தவில் வாத்தியத்தையும் சேர்த்து தான் கூறுகிறேன் ) . இதன் ஒலி ஷெனாய் வாத்தியத்தை விட மிகவும் அழகிய மற்றும் மங்களகரமான உணர்வை குறிக்கிறது . இந்த கச்சேரி மிகவும் நன்றாக உள்ளது.

Nagasvaram! The most difficult and strenuous instrument to play. Though Nagaswaram is manditory in all South Indian weddings, the performers have no status amoung musicians. Kudos to T M Krishna for presenting RUclipsrs unknown talents.

Smt. Kaleeshabi Mahaboob Amma, it felt like I attended to Goddess Saraswathi playing with the notes.
There is line in a Kannada poem “ yav chippanl yav muttaito odadi nodbek ol age” . Roughly translates as “ which pearl is present which shell - one has to open to see.”
Smt. Kaleeshabi Mahaboob is blessed by the Gods themselves. What divine playing. She plays those high sustained notes so well and with such emotion and then conquers our hearts with the quieter ones.

Another priceless effort from this wonderful team. At the outset, my heartfelt congratulations on the genius who thought through pairing TMK and Akkarai Subha with Sri. Subhani and Smt. Kalishabi and seamlessly executed it. Kudos to TMK for giving equal and more space to Smt. Kalishabhi and of course to Subhalakshmi. At around the 4th minute his voice merges in perfect unison with Smt. Kalishabi's Nagaswaram. Subbalakshmi, a consummate musician in her own right is just awestruck by the nadham, as we all are. Magic, pure unadulterated magic only something that Carnatic music can provide. Transcends religion, caste, creed, bigotry, race and all that ails the human race and takes us on a path to the divine..Thanks to everyone involved in these productions.
