    I actually found the side steps helpful with having my handicapped father get in and out of the vehicle

    As far as the running boards go or side steps. I hav a 3 year old son that actually use them regularly to get in and out of the vehicle by himself so I think it’s a win for those that have kids.

      That is a great point. Do you have the XRT Santa Fe or are you talking about running boards and side steps in general. I found these in particular to be very narrow, maybe good for kids but my foot would slip off. I have running boards that are much wider on my Pilot and kids get in and out using them all the time. Thank you for your comment

    That’s so odd that this model doesnt have the button to fold the rear seats down. My 2022 santa fe xrt has a button not too far from the 12v plug in the trunk that you just push and it folds the seats down automatically. Also, the running boards on the side aren’t exactly a miss! I bought a Yakima skybox 16 and anytime im opening/closing and loading my cargo box on the roof rack, I use those running boards! Hopefully this us useful information!

      Very useful, thank you! Hyundai changed their trim levels and packages. The XRT used to be based on SEL with Convenience Package which included the power rear seat release, for this year its based on just SEL. However i did not see that as an option. One way to get people confused lol.

      My beef with them was yhat they are too short and i could not put my foot on them without opening the door. And if i have doors open i would just stand on the door sill.

    Better looking rims on the lower lever XRT than the hideous looking rims on the higher trims. Hyundai gotta do something about that.

    Why do you think the gas mileage is so bad with the AWD version, it drops from 28(which is not so good) to 25 for hwy driving? Other cars don't usually drop so much for their AWD versions. Don't understand the thought process on the side steps at all.

    • @MattTheCarguy
      @MattTheCarguy  Год назад +1

      That is a great question. Usually awd drops it by 1mpg or so. I am not sure but will try to find out.

      Wondering how accurate the numbers are the turbo trim doesn't have a drop for awd version in fact I think it does better than the regular engine with awd.

      Don't worry about what the sticker says in this case. I have a 2022 of this model with the HTRAC system and do a lot of highway driving. Real world driving my dash reads right around 28 mpg. I do drive with a light foot but it does better than the sticker says if you do a lot of highway driving.

    • @cooper6267

      It is a bit tight. I think bc the middle cluster is so wide. Also they should’ve allowed for the drivers seat to slide back a tad more.

    Honestly not worth the extra money for side steps, a roof rack, off-road tires and some rugged-looking exterior plastic trim. Same goes for the Honda Passport Trailsport.

      I agree, if the addons don't provide any functional value I don't need them.
