I wish we went back to buttons. Thank you Hyundai. A parent should focus on driving because of the precious cargo, and not have to focus on screens. Good job Hyundai! Barely any piano black. Great!

Gotta give it to Hyundai. They have become so good at blurring the line of luxury and mainstream(while also needing to protect the Genesis brand at the same time). The Santa Fe is a great size for those needing something just a skosh larger than the Tucson, but not as large as the Palisade. One must also remember this vehicle was designed with 3rows in mind before the Palisade debuted, so you're getting a much larger interior than the exterior dimensions would suggest(which is becoming increasingly rare these days). This vehicle also shows better with lighter colored interiors.
I know that it is hard for this model to live in the same family as its popular smaller and larger brothers(middle child syndrome, I get it), but I find it to be a great alternative.
Hyundai still does weird things with their lineup tho. Power-folding mirrors aren't available on the flagship Palisade but present on the mid-class vehicle, which is also smaller. And of course my main bone continues to be the fact wireless AA/AC continues to be nonexistent in H/K vehicles with the larger screens.

I was car shopping for family car after I sold my weekend toy. I wanted huyndai or kia. Toyota is boring and Honda doesn't have good design in my view. Called lot of dealers and they all want over msrp. Walked in to dealership just to look. I test drive palisade se bcz I don't want to spend lot. Sale lady said if I can make u deal u want to take home today. I said yeah. She said $38k for palisade and $7k over msrp. I walked right out of dealership. She came running what happened sir. I said u know what happened. I'm not paying not even 1k over msrp for any car specially huyndai. She said can u do $4500. I said didn't u hear what I said. I don't want to pay any over asking. Yeah. "I thought it was a SUV?" It is, a SUV station wagon. "I never liked station wagons, reminds me when I was a kid and my dad had a huge Ford station wagon." OK, then what do you want to do, take it back to the dealership? "No, we need a second car anyway, let's look at the Forester". So we ordered a Forester Touring, it arrived a couple months ago and again, a great car, glad we got it. Then my grandson buys a new Crosstrek so now we have three Subarus in the family. Honestly this Santa Fe Calligraphy is quite premium if u ask me. I mean the suede headliner for 46 grand us honestly shocking to see in this class of vehicle as well as having quilted napper leather in the class is something that u would see on high end luxury SUVs. Though it’s interesting how a palisade calligraphy is basically 1,500-2,000 dollars more than they doesn’t have power forking mirrors in the US specifically.

We have had several Hyundai vehicles. My wife still has one. I purchased a new Honda Passport Elite AWD last year. Plenty of power with the 280hp V-6 with 9 speed transmission. It has everything but the kitchen sink. Heated front and rear seats and ventilated front seats. Heated steering wheel and heated folding side mirrors. Tons of other stuff and I paid $47,580. That’s about the same as the Hyundai SEL premium AWL. MPH is 22 in town and 24.5 on the highway. I like that is a little heavier and quieter than the Hyundai. Does have paddle shifters but who cares. 0 to 60 in 6 sec. in sport mode. Hyundai does have a better warranty. Both are great vehicles.

I was thinkin 46 grand fully loaded for this was very expensive but considering majority of these vehicles in the class are around this price point it’s nothing. Like conspiring you have vehicles like the edge ST which has a MSRP 46,485 the atlas’s cross sport MSRP at 46,555 which can also be on the low 50k range and other cars like the Jeep Grand Cherokee which can go in the 70-80 thousand dollar price point area. So I will say these mid-size 2 crossovers can get as expansive as they’re larger 3 row counter parts. I will say some of them are worth it though.

Why does it have less space than some of the compact rivals? The CR-V has 39.3/77.1 cubic feet of space, the RAV4 has 37.1/73.2, heck even the Sportage has 39.3/75.1. And the Passport, even it has 44-51/77-100 cubic feet (with seats up, it’s 44 without the under floor storage, 51 with it, and 77 cubic feet is with the rear seats slid all the way back, and 100 with them all the way forward).

Bought a 2021. Really liked the value. Having owned it a year with only 14k miles on it, starting to experience some jerking at low light-gas-pedal speeds and weird jerking downshifts at stoplights. It really feels like when you have a manual gearbox in too high of a gear and are giving it some gas and it kinda jerks forward. Maybe it’s the nature of this transmission or the programming or something but it seems to have gotten worse. While these are very appealing vehicles, having experienced this I kinda wish I had the initially less desirable Toyota or something that just gives me some peace of mind. This thing has a good warranty but im the kind of guy that wants to buy a car and drive it til I’m dead. I won’t be doing that with this one I don’t think.

Compare it to palisade, all parts are made and built in korea.some models of lexus, toyota, honda and acura are assembled and built in USA too thats why theres alot of lemon. Am I being too petty for seriously disliking the turn signals in the bumper? I have a '17 Sport Ultimate, and it looks like I'm going to "stay with the 'Fe," but I can't get past the odd placement of the lights.

Just does NOT have the exterior to be $40,000+. I was barely okay paying that for my Venza, which looks like a luxury vehicle now

Too expensive do not fly. If the price would be less than 40 grand it would be a great bargain. The bash boad is outdated. No digital screen panel. The exterior and speed are good I have to admit nevertheless.

@@maga6319 Yes and my lungs got squeezed together when I test drove it due to lack of cabin space..If it doesn't have a turbo in it you have to get out and push.I also drove the mazda 50 and that one was worse trying to get in and out of it.
