mind blowing explanation hats off !!!!!
Hi Mr. David. The process of making the MDF pictures is really nice. Just really starting to take sublimation seriously. Got my lil shop set up in a corner of my living rm which was a surprise to my family LOL. I have a HPN Signature Series 16x20 Auto Drawer press with a sg400 Sawgrass Sublimation Printer using TextR Sublimation Paper. Can you tell me do you think that those 3 things will work for the MDF Sublimation Process? I wish I could afford that big pneumatic press that you have.
Instead of maple wood any other kind of wood can be used ? Thanks for great video.
No, no, this is specially treated wood that has a polyester coating and the images are made with sublimation ink. It's a whole process.
I just printed an image on an 11x14 panel and the image doesn't take up the entire space of the board. I can see a shadow from the paper all around. Is that from the press being too firm or my time being too long? Thanks!
+Lindsay Rechnitz Please take a photo of the panel and please send it to demo@conde.com That's our Quality control, they will help you.
How does the glue between the maple and mdf not separate while heat pressing? I want to sublimate the flat part on skateboards and I am worried the glues between the veneers will separate. Any ideas?
+Corey Shepherd ...............We don't know about skateboards. You need to try it and see what the problems are. Usually 400° is not enough to liquefy the glue completely.
BTW, Any warping of our mdf does require that you turn the panel over and heat it on the other side.
What type of Fabric do you suggest?
Chris Scerra We use (part number PCK45) China Silk Polyester Fabric available at conde.com
which inkjet printer I should use for this purpose? thanks.
You need one that has sublimation ink available. The latest ones are the Virtuoso SG 400 and SG 800 or the VJ628
