Sorry for the bad drawings✍️😂 I hope it still helps you memorize hiragana characters!! Some of my drawings look stupid or don’t really match the letters🙏 These are just some of the ideas! If you can think of any better ones, then use it instead😊Making your own mnemonic is helpful to remember the letter too!

Love your method! Thank you so much! I am below level zero... I start today, with you... but very slowly, 5 hiragana per day. I realize that writing Japanese is an art in itself... It's calligraphic...
I teach World Language Exploratory in the U.S. to middle schoolers (Junior High), and I used your video to help my students memorize their hiragana chart. They thought some of your drawings were a bit of a stretch, but I told them that this is just one way to remember. If they can think of something "better" then do it, otherwise, listen and learn. Your video was super helpful to my students. Part of learning is opening the mind to new interpretations and perceptions.
Very useful for memorizing all of this, love the aesthetics from this video, and I literally drawing the same pics on my notebooks (not as good as yours I am afraid lol) Very lovely hand-paintings and I absolutely love it:) Sending loves from Shanghai.
Thank you Satou. Your video worked for me. The pictures really helped me memorise the shapes and prompt recall. Nicely paced and your voice is very soothing. Made learning fun and 5 a day is an achievable goal. Well done!
Hello Satou. I want to thank you for these videos, they really helped me learn hiragana. Your drawings are good! You are an excellent teacher. Please continue posting these videos so we can learn Japanese! ありがとう
Thank you so much for your kind words, Jason-san!! I’m really glad to heat that my videos help you learn Japanese😊 I currently work full time and do some side business and it’s been hectic💦 I’ll definitely get back to making videos soon!!!
After years of saying "tomorrow I'll do it." (note i've been saying this since i was like 13 maybe younger, now I'm 24) I've finally decided to learn japonese and your videos are great, very easy to understand and are helping me, I just had a struggle with the "contracted sounds". Thanks so much! By the way really like drawings!
I'm learning hiragana and I also came up with many of these mnuminics while learning on my own, and some were new and very helpful. I learned english with mnumonics as a child. It is very effective. The human mind is amazing.
Thank u soooooo much.......I was struggling to remember hiragana characters since last 10 days but after watching your video i was able to remember all the characters within two hours..........this is so helpful......arigato gozaimasu sensei once again🙏🏻
I’m slowly practicing for fun and I’m actually having a lot of fun learning from your video. Your explanations and pictures are way better than the book I bought
Satou Sensei, I enjoyed watching this video. Excellent mnemonics. I'm looking forward to the katakana mnemonics video. I'm having a hard time in familiarizing myself with katakana and the special sounds. Thank you so much for your video lessons.
your drawings are great! and i personally liked your original format of 10 hiragana's per video. but I get why you switched it up. thanks for your videos I'm chuggin along through your course
Sotao , you. Are best teacher 👩🏫 ❤❤❤❤it helped me a lot as a student, i was not able to learn Japanese for 2 years I didn’t even know how to read and right, but now i can!!!!🙂☺️☺️☺️👌🤝thanks a lot ❤❤😃😃😃😃#full satisfied 😊
Well, that was most helpful, your associations are definitely brilliant. And I must say, drawings are super cute and most understandable! Thanks for sharing it!
Your mnemonic style is really match with Hiragana words , in that way it looks easy I also make these mnemonic and Hiragana words in my copy to learn Thank you so much to tell easy way of Hiragana 🙇♀️🌸💮🇯🇵🎋
Konnichiwa Satou sensei!! I love your videos, your hiragana mnemonics have helped me IMMENSELY!!! With the upmost respect/admiration, I have a few suggestions for hiragana mnemonics that I think will work well for Americans! For Ho ほ, it could be a HOagie sandwich instead of hot dog (“hawt” dog). For Ra ら, it could be LAp, because it looks like a person sitting on the floor, maybe a cat in their lap. For Ri り, it could be LEaping into the air, I see the first stroke as a person with their legs up and the second stroke as a swooping arrow indicating they’re jumping up. Or り can also look like a person LEaning over to touch their toes. For Ru る, it could be a flower bLOOming, maybe upside down, like the circle at the end is a little petal. Or you could focus on the LOOp at the end of the stroke. For Ro ろ, it could be you LOWered the nutrients/sunlight and killed your flower. I like that you have those mnemonics connected since they look so similar. Again, I give these suggestions with the upmost respect and admiration for your videos and knowledge. I hope you see that your methods have created very passionate students, eager to share what they’ve learned! I was using an app to learn hiragana but your videos inspired/helped me so much more! Thank you so much for everything you do!! Arigatou gozaimasu!! ありがとう ございます 💖
Hajimemashite Satous-Sensei, My name is Tina I am in America (California) I am half Japanese and half American and have some knowledge of the Japanese language. I wanted to write a book to teach myself AND others how to read and write Japanese Hiragana and then eventually make color books to learn Japanese Simple Vocabulary but one must understand Japanese Hiragana first. I found your video to be most helpful, I took screen shots of each of your hiragana character as well as your drawings (which I thought were quite good) I also liked your video because your illustrated the hiragana character inside the various illustrations, it makes it easier to remember if you can associate the character with an actual image. 😊 I also found your video to be helpful for when you are trying to write hiragana. Hiragana is difficult to do (especially for me) when all you know is the English alphabet. I hope that you do not mind me using your video in my book. I will be referencing your video as one of the sources for my book... I will be on your channel a lot because your videos I found were the most helpful for what I wanted. If there are copyrights on your content please comment on my post and I will adjust my screenshots as your wish. Again thank you for posting your video 🥰
Thank you for your comment and your kind words! I’m glad that you like the video😊 If it’s for nonprofit purposes, you can use my illustrations as long as you credit me (my RUclips channel). However, if you are planning to sell things using my work, I’m afraid that it would be a corporate project, so please email me for the details if that’s the case. (Satou.nihongo@gmail.com). Thank you in advance for your understanding🙏
