Haley Strategic releases the long awaited D3 Sling and Travis goes over the fit and function of the sling. For more details and to get your D3 Sling go to haleystrategic...
Slings have always been "confusing" for me and this video is really good at explaining how to fit, attach, etc. No bullshit. You sold me and I shall buy one. Thanks!
damn you travis! damn you! i was actually sowing a sling kind of like that myself with the climbing webbing, I was struggling a bit. I am actually using the old latches from the alice packs; a seal showed me that on my last deployment in 2011. I have to say i love the video. you addressed all the issues i was having with the body armor we have it just sucks. I cant stress enough on how your videos and equipment is awesome and helpful for us to use and work with. i hate looking at products and struggling to figure out if i want to spend the money on it just to miss the point and not use it properly or its subpar. I hate to say it but im not a pro and i screw shit up all the time. When you add videos to go with your products and how to use them makes life so much easier. i watch it and learn and the light bulb goes off, "oh that so much easier"! thank you very much for everything you do and what you do.
sweet!! that looks awesome I'll be buying a couple of those! (how about a video of some of your personal carbine setups and why) great company great channel
Not sure. They still going with the drawing the cord towards the body not away from the body like the Ares sling does. One would have to buy one to see.
Is it affordable for the low wage earner ? So many times there are slings that I would by but they cost as much as a third of a case of ammo or around 400 rounds of 762 ammo. Or spend 80 to 90 dollars for some nylon and clips and 3 min of sewing with a machine . I would like to buy more product to support my neighbors . With a 40 dollar price tag more will sale = more profits and more people seeing it at the range etc . I will admit I have bought cheaper products such as belt's pouches and modify & reinforce them by adding velcro and reinforcing the stitching and they stand up to 80 to 100 dollar products . Just something to think of as commodities are at rock bottom . And the BDI is low .Some times you have to try to reach more of the customer base . Simply by adding value mark up doesn't have to be 10 to 20 times to make a great profit . Just tripling your profits will pay off more because of the number of sales and that equals more job's . I did not go to the site before I started writing this . I am going to see what the price is and if it is between 40 to 50 dollars . I will spend my money . Drum roll Please .
I feel like they listen to the I'm put of those who use it, and don't release a product until it'd perfect (in their eyes) for the intended use. it's a good business model
Submit it to The Marine Corps. Send free samples to infantry battalion gunners and make them an offer they can't refuse. This is a good investment. Grunts get fucked with shit gear, hook it up. It's a small investment and if the product is something you believe is superior then it will be widely adopted. This'll be great for assaultmen, scout snipers, and just about anyone rocking two weapons. We've all seen that Marine who has to awkwardly toss his rifle behind his back to employ an AT4 inadvertently flowerpotting. Fruit for thought
+TheActiveAssault Well, the Corps never got the MS3 sling from magpul either. Currently the only approved slings are parade slings, 3 point slings, and the Vickers blue force sling.
+TheActiveAssault I know the Marines issue inadequate gear to you guys. I don't know if you could buy one and use it in the field as regs change a lot.
Tacticalgunguy1989 The 3 I listed above are the only officially allowed and, as far as I know, regulations state no others can be used. But you're unlikely to have someone enforce it, and if they do, that's a huge sign of a bad leader, provided you aren't trying to use a sling you made out of duct tape and paracord.
Looks like a cool sling! Also this video is a damn good guide to just getting the proper fit on any quick adjust 1 to 2 point sling! Thanks for the tips!
+HaleyStrategic man would love to see you using all your gear in all of its various applications at the same time. you should make a movie or something. love the content you put out and love your attitude/philosophy. keep it up.
Awesome!!! Being able to change from a two point to single was the reason I got the MS2 when it was introduced. Few years later now, it could use some padding and seriously considered going to Blue Force. But damn......this D3 Sling got my attention!!!
There are three things I notice that Travis says alot: 1. "weapons manipulation" 2. "combat effectiveness" 3. "mm, kay?/"Okay?" The first two makes you sound like a damn salesman, lol! So good, in fact, I bought a D3 sling and a Thorntail mount. Can wait till it shows up at my door tomorrow!
At 1:40 the design / stitching of the segment that attaches to your rifle is aesthetically unappealing. You always have great quality gear (I own a number of them) and feel that one area could be made much better. The ends dont mate up well, and although I cant see if the ends are rolled inwards or merely just hot knifed, at least they are bartacked. However, it would have been better to use a box stitch near the rear. I would have brought both end pieces together, folded them inward, and box sewn it. This is just my 2 cents from a gear manufacturer. Nice touch with the 17337 dyed multicam webbing. Could have gone cheaper with Murdoc, but not a fan of the woven multicam.
The price, and that stupid padding has kept me from buying a D3... It's literally 15 dollars worth of material, and 1000 manufacturers before did the R&D... This is not a new idea. And nothing involved in this product justifies the 100 dollar price tag... that said, it's a 6-8 pound rifle. I'm not walking 1000 meter sweeps. Anyone who needs (or wants) padding for an AR, needs to put their gun down, and stop LARPing so hard.
Love the concept behind the adaptability of all the D3 gear. I like having options. random question btw. the D3 logo would make a badass shirt or patch. Have you ever thought of making at least a limited run?
I fucked up and just now finally bought this to replace my old Magpul one. While yes its only a sling but what a difference it makes in weight and comfort
I'm a big dude at 6 foot 8 inches tall, 330 lbs is there enough material there for this sling to fit me properly and hell even the chest rig you sell, for my size? Don't want to spend good money on things that do not fit, which happens a lot.
Ima be honest, I got the sling. It could have been a great sling but when it comes to adusting it is easily the worst sling I have. You end up fighting with the sling just for it to get shorter or longer. I ended up using the magpul one. Its cheaper & simply works better.
Wanted to give some feedback on the sling I purchased. I love it but you need more material (needs to be longer) if one were to ever use it on a vest. I barely have enough length for it to fit on me. I'm about average to a little above average in size. I really like it though. Material is nice
Great run down, have a question- are there other options on the connect points, understood what you have on one the current sling is the way to go, but I'm currently running a Magpul ASP setup, any suggestions?
+Ax Greenious Don't be jelly bro, Travis is just head of Haley Strategic and an all around good guy, I AM A "FANBOY", Airsofters, Marines, Soldiers, Sailors, Law-enforcement, and Civilians love this guy if they know who he is. I count myself as one of his loyal customers. We are only a collection of our role-models, and for fuck's sake he's one hell of a role-model. You wan't some homoerotic nuances go check out James Yeager lol.
Man. Just watching you execute these things I've never had to think about is mind-blowing. I want to take every single one of your damn classes before I make my way off this space rock. Why? Because Merica'
Saw this video and was extremely interested. I like lightweight and functional sling with padding. Until I saw the $90 price tag. Back to my other brand slings...
Another comment... After watching this again... again, i may have had a revelation (idea). Travis first says, "if you're right handed," then goes into setup & manipulation. All the while, I'm thinking it'd be beneficial to start opposite (rightys set up lefty and vice-versa). Everything travis does (specifically fine motor tasks), he does with his support hand. Just an idea I'll try when mine comes.
video summed up - 2 point is for weapon carrying. 1 point is for weapon maneuvering. D3 sling does both, and switches between the two quickly and effectively.
I think I'll be getting one of these for my Daniel Defense M4. Anything I need to know when it comes to installing the sling on the rifle since it doesn't have a keymod rail? I shoot a Daniel Defense M4V1
+Travis Haley Thank you sir! I have a 2 Gun match in a few days and the steel is at 300 yards. I run an EOTech 512, so should I get a magnifier? Is there anything you'd recommend I should do to make it easier to hit those targets?
I just got my sling and am having trouble with the fit. I'm a smaller build and have already adjusted the fit buckle. I've pulled in a lot of slack, but I find that my weapon tends to pull down on the sling and bring the pad off my shoulder. It seems like the fit buckle is good for fine tuning but if I bring it way in it just throws the system out of whack. The "solution" is to pull the adjustment handle back to around 80%, but then it's way far back and out of my reach. It works pretty well, but negates the benefit of the quick adjustment feature altogether. Any tips? At this point I either cut and resize the strap under my left arm or build a bigger chest.
Hey Travis what sweater were you wearing in the clips when you were switching from right to left and clearing the house, and in your urban prone position shooting??
Exactly what I have been looking for, $89 is pricey but if I assume (I think rightfully so) that the quality of parts and build quality is high (won't be falling apart on me or tearing or have sub-par sling swivel's that stop working) then I have no problem paying that price.
Just so happens I was looking for a 2 to single point sling. HSP has a history of well thought out and quality products. Ordered this and Tactical Link bungee convertible sling. No need for 2 point slings anymore. For me anyway.
I just purchased one for work and look forward to trying it out. Mr. Haley would you have any sugestions or thoughts for a situation where it becomes necessery to shoot while using the D3 Sling in the two point configuration. Also would you consider demonstrating the recommend method for getting into the sling quickly, ie. deploying from a LE car with a weapon rack. Thank you
Love the materials but hate that single point mount it gets in between me and stock now and then and it also scrapes my neck I just can’t adjust it out of the way without putting pad away from where I need it. I wish the model without hardware was available when I put $80 into this sling. But I like the concept and love the quality of materials. I’m not thinking about getting that other model
I picked one of these up from Bravo Company and am impressed. Coming from a VTAC 2 point padded sling, I didn't think it could improve much. I always appreciated the theory behind the Magpul slings, but not the materials or execution. I'm actually shocked by how long it took to come out with a sling that seems so simple, lightweight, and functional. Job well done, Travis.
Ryan Snow.. similar but the same, the pad uses top climbing harness tech and it's not just a marketing ploy.. I've not used this sling but my climbing harness utilizes this tech and very comfortable and light..
I just put my BCM HSP Jack in layaway this week basically saw the Haley strategic logo on the side along with the BCM logo and decided that was the way to go with my next rifle would love to bring it to one of your carbine classes when you head back east
Do you have any plans to make one that clips onto more conventional sling attachments? I currently use the Magpul ASAP and MS3 sling. So to even get this I'd have to buy a new endplate.
+Anime Summit don't knock it til you try it...The soe bungee is not the same as shit like condor bungy...it doesn't stretch unless you want to stretch it...and in awkward shooting positions particularly supine...The bungee offers adaptability that non bungee slings simply can't give you.
I just got my D3 sling in the mail the other day with the QD thorntail, my question is for 2 point mode for a longer barrel rifle do you recommend going tight to the rear of the handguard like yours there or further down?
sweet!! that looks awesome I'll be buying a couple of those! (how about a video of some of your personal carbine setups and why) great company great channel
Looks like an awesome sling. Did you already cut the excess tail on the sling in the video, or is that as long as it is? I'm a big guy and it doesn't look like there's much extension left below that fit buckle.
My original MS1 broke a few months ago. It held out for many years and was over all a good sling. This however is clearly an evolution on the MS line. Very cool and very interested.
So hot, Haley

Jimmy Stare changed my life
Pretty nice but I have an Ares Armor Huskey Amentum Slider Sling that I threw a tri glide QD on and it is PERFECT.
+vegitagt I'm wondering if this can be used like the huskey, in the supported off hand position where the rifle basically holds itself.
Not sure. They still going with the drawing the cord towards the body not away from the body like the Ares sling does. One would have to buy one to see.
I've been waiting for this
Nice!
what were the boots Travis was wearing?
Very Nice!
QD only..?

why does travis always sound like he is out of breath?
I was watching cops right before this...
+HaleyStrategic LOL
He's a cancer survivor
+plank3000 He probably just finished a special ops mission 15 seconds before filming this :)
+HaleyStrategic BAHAHAHAHAHAHA
The greatest thing your company offers is the absolute methodical thinking and planning y'all put into your products.
I feel like they listen to the I'm put of those who use it, and don't release a product until it'd perfect (in their eyes) for the intended use. it's a good business model

good to know.
Product demo and an education. Love it. Great work.
Fuck, there goes 90 bucks of my money.
Ordered, love this company! Ranger Green in the future I hope.
How is that Trijicon MRO holding up ?
Are they still making this sling?
Looks like a cool sling! Also this video is a damn good guide to just getting the proper fit on any quick adjust 1 to 2 point sling! Thanks for the tips!
Grey, Please! And I guess some people might want foliage green, too. Those ought to cover just about everybody.
+boatrat74 coming next
+HaleyStrategic man would love to see you using all your gear in all of its various applications at the same time. you should make a movie or something. love the content you put out and love your attitude/philosophy. keep it up.
Awesome!!! Being able to change from a two point to single was the reason I got the MS2 when it was introduced. Few years later now, it could use some padding and seriously considered going to Blue Force. But damn......this D3 Sling got my attention!!!
Who makes the 9mm AR you're using @ 5:00 min into the video?
There are three things I notice that Travis says alot:
1. "weapons manipulation"
2. "combat effectiveness"
3. "mm, kay?/"Okay?"
The first two makes you sound like a damn salesman, lol! So good, in fact, I bought a D3 sling and a Thorntail mount. Can wait till it shows up at my door tomorrow!

Well I guess if Arcteryx won't do it, you guys might as well. looks good. Similar to the Arcteryx H150 riggers belt.
The price, and that stupid padding has kept me from buying a D3...

When I buy from haley strategic, I know I'm buying from people who know what the fuck they're talking about.
What are the benefits of actually switching shoulders and taking your hands off fire control over just a more simple and faster shoulder bump? .-.
Love the concept behind the adaptability of all the D3 gear. I like having options. random question btw. the D3 logo would make a badass shirt or patch. Have you ever thought of making at least a limited run?
I just want to know about the rifles in the bakground and why he chose to outfit them in such a way. Always willing to learn from the best!
I fucked up and just now finally bought this to replace my old Magpul one. While yes its only a sling but what a difference it makes in weight and comfort

Can this be used primarily as a two-point while firing or was the two-point aspect designed for slinging it on your back?
Very well thought out product, great video! I always look forward to your videos
Lol 7 years ago yall had it in Ranger Green on the thumbnail but only just now released it😂
Very well thought out product, great video! I always look forward to your videos
Very well thought out product, great video! I always look forward to your videos
I know what I'm getting next. What make is that AR 9 and what hoodie is that? Gracias.
Got mine in the mail yesterday. I'm loving it already. Good stuff Travis!
Just got mine. It's legit. I'm color coordinated as shit with that coyote.
Tell me about that baller suppressed glock mag fed AR!!!
Wish he showed where he plugged it into the front of the rifle
So when are we getting God's Plaid my friend? 😂
Needed to see what's in a store for AK users. Nothing has been mentioned. Sad.
ill stick will my S.O.E 2 to 1 convertible.
can you bring back the old shooting caps like the ranger green tan and black hats
Really Travis? $90? That is pretty steep!
Will it work for left handed people?🤯🔫🙏🏼
Great run down, have a question- are there other options on the connect points, understood what you have on one the current sling is the way to go, but I'm currently running a Magpul ASP setup, any suggestions?
+Long Range Medic options coming in the next month or so
Will it work for left handed people?🤯🔫💣
Sorry you answered my question!🤯🥊
very nice! lots of slings out there...
This channel is full of homoerotic nuances. The comments made by the fanboys make me wonder if there is a hidden fetish for some viewers.

Travis, what separates your sling from the MagPul MS3/4 that justifies nearly twice the cost (or at least an additional $35 - $40)?
The difference i see is the slick material and extra padding near the neck, the magpul slings tend to dig in to skin pretty harshly
I like the single point hardware is hight up
I see you traded the Garmin for the Apple Watch. Adapting to your environment. 👍
Saw this video and was extremely interested. I like lightweight and functional sling with padding. Until I saw the $90 price tag. Back to my other brand slings...
C'mon with the Gray version
Another comment... After watching this again... again, i may have had a revelation (idea). Travis first says, "if you're right handed," then goes into setup & manipulation. All the while, I'm thinking it'd be beneficial to start opposite (rightys set up lefty and vice-versa). Everything travis does (specifically fine motor tasks), he does with his support hand. Now combine the sling with magpuls QDs and you'll have an awesome system.
+Demon of the Desert Sun (LAD) agreed, the QDM is superior.
video summed up - 2 point is for weapon carrying. 1 point is for weapon maneuvering. D3 sling does both, and switches between the two quickly and effectively.
Hey travis, I love this product. I just don't have a QD adapter on the back end of my rifle. Do you offer separate attachments for the sling?
I think I'll be getting one of these for my Daniel Defense M4. Anything I need to know when it comes to installing the sling on the rifle since it doesn't have a keymod rail? I shoot a Daniel Defense M4V1
+Travis Haley Thank you sir! I have a 2 Gun match in a few days and the steel is at 300 yards. I run an EOTech 512, so should I get a magnifier? Is there anything you'd recommend I should do to make it easier to hit those targets?
It,s a Very good sling I,m gonna get one .
In this video 04:42 you were with a rifle. What kind of shroud there instead of a compensator.
I just got my sling and am having trouble with the fit. I'm a smaller build and have already adjusted the fit buckle. That is an older TAD gear fleece
Th1rt3en sight review?
I just purchased one for work and look forward to trying it out. Mr. Haley would you have any sugestions or thoughts for a situation where it becomes necessery to shoot while using the D3 Sling in the two point configuration. Also would you consider demonstrating the recommend method for getting into the sling quickly, ie. deploying from a LE car with a weapon rack. Thank you
Shut up and just take my money.
Perfect. just simply perfect.

any plans for kryptek colors?
It's a thinner Magpul ms3.......costs more too
Ryan Snow.. similar but the same, the pad uses top climbing harness tech and it's not just a marketing ploy.. I've not used this sling but my climbing harness utilizes this tech and very comfortable and light..
I was curious what gloves Travis was wearing at 5:12. Figured out they were Firm Grip Trade Master gloves from Home Depot.
I just put my BCM HSP Jack in layaway this week basically saw the Haley strategic logo on the side along with the BCM logo and decided that was the way to go with my next rifle would love to bring it to one of your carbine classes when you head back east
Great product, looking forward to using it in the future. By the way, what kind of 9mm Carbine you use in the video? Thanks
Do you have any plans to make one that clips onto more conventional sling attachments? I currently use the Magpul ASAP and MS3 sling. So to even get this I'd have to buy a new endplate.
I run an SOE two to one sling with hk clips and an ASAP endplate...doesn't get much better in my opinion
eh, I'm not a big fan of stretchy slings.
+Anime Summit don't knock it til you try it...The soe bungee is not the same as shit like condor bungy...it doesn't stretch unless you want to stretch it...and in awkward shooting positions particularly supine...The bungee offers adaptability that non bungee slings simply can't give you.
You've done it again!
I just got my D3 sling in the mail the other day with the QD thorntail, my question is for 2 point mode for a longer barrel rifle do you recommend going tight to the rear of the handguard like yours there or further down?

you are shooting a 11.5" BCM in the video?
Nice rifle.
Yes
When you have your sling in single point can you go to laying down flat on stomach to shoot can you do it without adjusting sling?
+livewiretennis yes most certainly
Ordered one as soon as possible, thanks... question, what boots are Mr Haley wearing in the demo portions of the vid?
can't wait to try one!
Hope you got Blue Force's blessings on that adjustment "handle". :|
What kind of sling mount do you need for this? Or does this just magically click onto the stock endplate?
My original MS1 broke a few months ago. It held out for many years and was over all a good sling. This however is clearly an evolution on the MS line. Very cool and very interested.
Thanks for the great video. I’ll be watching this again when my sling comes in the mail. Just ordered it this afternoon!
