I love the flatpack plus and the micro chest rig, but I don't like running them together (not hooked up together. I do use them both, but they're unhooked to each other). While it can make wearing the chestrig feel more balanced, I hate hooking it up to the flatpack because it makes it less practical to get stuff from your pack. Obviously in a team set up, you just get your buddies to fish what you need for you. But otherwise, if you just need to quickly fish something out, or take the pack off for convenience or confort, instead of just a quick action, its kind of cumbersome. If X harness is bothering you, it either needs to be adjusted, or they make an H harness replacement for it, since some folks prefer that. Just my two cents.
@standby_official oh totally forgot they came out with that adaptor. Didn't see it as necessary at the time as I was getting along fine without it, but it might be worth doing a comparison with and without it. Thanks for the reminder! Still there's something nice about just running a slick chest rig, so my bias right now is that it's not worth it, but I'm going to buy it and come back after testing it.
I have the D3CR-Heavy and bought the Flatpack+ just for the comfort and adjustability vs X-Harness. The cross set up with Thing 2 is pretty sweet to. Really Cool rig.

I thought they came out with quick disconnects so you can swing the pack off for single person manipulation?
