I wouldn’t say we’re in the chest rig era again. It’s more like people realized that both chest rigs and plate carriers have their place and it’s good to have both.
exactly
Exactly, each has its place, and each should be had and trained in.
As newbie....what are the places? I mean the difference to me appears to be one offers protection and the other doesn't, but both are made to carry stuff. Am I over simplifying this.
@@reddirtwalker8041 the general rule of thumb is if you expect to be shot at or to be engaging someone else wear body armor. That’s a simple explanation but a good foundation.
@@actionsonobj Thank you for the reply, but I still don't understand. To me it only makes sense to go plate carrier full time because I honestly can't think of a situation where I would need 4+ magazines, admin pouch, possibly a radio pouch and what not and not be engaging someone.
Yes there is training, but shouldn't you train in what you will be fighting in?
That intro about put Garand Thumb to shame. Awesome
Makes me wonder what kind of context could garand thumb and barrel & hatchet come up with
If the intro doesnt, the content will. GT is a clown now

I'm old, and my gear is too. Rock the LBE and the chest rig....
Spiritus System and Velocity chest rigs is what I have.
Chest Rigs are great for low threat contact while rucking around. Especially in the mountains.
oh yeah they are
You guys should try the Platatac Peacekeeper jungle rig. The peacekeeper has always been a super popular rig with guys outside of Australia but this split rig from them is 🔥
Thank you for the solid production quality and great content!
Opening was really well done 😊
Big fan. Lighting looks much better this cast. Nice work with the intro!
thanks we are constantly working on it
I ran a Ferro Concepts chesty wide rig at Gunsite for a week long carbine courses….absolutely worth every penny. 5 Stars highly recommended.
Great B-roll footage!!!!!
Can’t wait for the video on the ghost rig excited to learn more about it waiting for m81 to come back in stock
Honestly been loving the Pattern 84 Kommandostore put out, all that SADF goodness with some molle on the sides for anything I want and 6 mags on my chest. Comfy to boot.
Not best for skinny or small sized people. Just a heads up.
@@lukewarmwater6713thanks
@@1594simonsays It’s really great for all types of mags, if your just running it bare bones it’s stellar, just not the best for putting pouches on the side if your a small dude.
Great intro and great content! More, more, more!
roger we will be pushing out weekly Mondays at 1915 est
My rigs so far:
Haley micro with spiritus expander wings and OR SIMP. (Primarily a plate carrier rig. Did use in a 3 gun and it was awesome)
OR recce rig with defense mechanisms mag and radio side kick, spiritus spud pouch for x2 mags giving me 11 mags on the rig. Then Amazon mystery meat dangler and small admin pouch (not made of money 😂) comfy esp with a ruck and lots of mags.
Then finally I’m running the invert with all the trimmings for my backpack .300 blk pdw setup. Awesome rig for traveling and keeping a low profile.
Thinking about adding a ghost rig to my collection 🤣
Great immersive intro cinematic, love the effort..
Got a onward research rig that I threw a helicon Tex Fanny pack on as a dangler med pouch and an old saw pouch as a gp pouch. Just need a spud pouch for water/ smoke and y’all’s GMP for the back. Keep it up guys, great content.
Yo!I got the OR recce too(in M81❤) and i am running a saw pouch too and a spiritus sack for med. I wanted to say thanks for the spud pouch recommendation cause i currently got a frag pouch and have been looking for something thatll do more and the spud would be perfect!Well off to order a spud(hopefully in stock😂)thanks man and personally i am in love w the OR rig, stay dangerous🤙Saw pouches work great for holding my 14 and a baclava and some comms earpiece leads(uv5r beo)😊
that sounds like an awesome setup
Running yals Ghost Chest Rig with the Thing 2. Absolutely love it!
Hell yeah man!!!!
Newb talking here 😂
I have been utilizing the Viktos micro rig at the "flat range" with great enjoyment. The magnetic buckles are awesome ❤️
XH harness revolutionary
Amen to that dude
Sweet intro. Another banger vid as usual
One thing a few of us do while conducting EP work is wear a covert ballistic vest under a button up, With a chest rig nearby or in a bag with a collapsible rifle or SBR, that way if the situation turns from covert to overt. we don't need to try to throw on a vest while still having armor.
Great video, appreciate the shout out. Keep up the great work gentlemen.
You bet
Just as I’m in the market for a new chest rig. Perfect timing fellas 🤌
Boom
Great to see phaseline getting some love, his artwork is insane, been following him for a while now.
dude he is awesome and his artwork is incredible
Nothing like an ol 240 to regain the initiative. Great video fellas.
When I was doing squad-leader stuff in the Army, I ran a SAW pouch on my right side of my FLC as a GP pouch, the radio went to the right of that, and my marking kit was to the right of that. All my ammo and my IFAK was on my left side; I typically ran my FLC zipped in the front, but I did tinker with just running the buckles in the front but the two buckles that come standard with it weren't enough. At the time, I didn't have the access to people to make me a mod to add buckles in without permanent modifying my FLC...so I'd have to pay for it when I left the Army. In hindsight, I could've bought my own FLC to tinker with and use in the field.
That intro video was legit. Those tracers looked pretty real.
Id suggest really looking into the defensemechanisms LCP chest rig. Its ridiculously modular and if you wanted to run a cummerbund on it its very possible.
I just ordered a chest rig from MOS Tactical. Skeletal with a First Spear Tube split front. Can't wait.
I like the frizzled boonie hat. What I run is a belt setup with suspenders and a small chest rig for admin stuff and so.
the boonie cap is from Confections Carcajou
Great vid guys, definitely brings up the more than valid point that you fight and die with what you carry-- no less than 8 (+1 in gun) Mags in standard loadout, with another 10 to 15 ready in your Pack/ Sustainment Gear, period.
Minimalist/ Low-Pro Rigs have their place too, moreso as the name states for Low-Profile activities (such as Surveillance or Advance Planning, low key Executive Protection/ PSD's, etc.), but that is more specialized and exigent/ ancillary.
Thank you I Just Subscribe To this channel I love it that's a very Informative and you show what you're talking about and give info in the proper info on the Subject. I get so tired of other channels where you have someone talking about a subject matter but that's all they do is talk talk talk talk talk and never show how it's applied or even the product they are talking about is just all about chatterbox. Thank you for the info very informative keep it going I love it and I'm sure most people do.👍
I’ve used and owned some different chest rigs. Just bought some Alice gear and and have been working with a belt and suspender setup and it’s still a contender.
VEry nice dude!
Good intro keep it up !
Honestly, I've been carrying everything that's necessary for fighting on my chest rig, and everything else in my pack
Nice that is a good way to equal out your sustainment
Good stuff. I am getting a Full Tang Tactical for a K-0
Yal should do a video on what goes into the pouches On yals Chest Rigs setups and also yals backpacks. I love listening to videos like this to figure out what gear I need.
Unless you are trying to go covert, I think that your chest rig and belt should have the capability to hold just as much stuff as the old LBE and belt held. What I am trying to say is that I don't want to lose capability when switching to the new modern form of gear. In fact, I want it to be better. An example of that is young infantry soldiers carry a lot more medical supplies than we carried, and that is a good thing.
Intro with them shots fired at micro rigs 😂🤣
Split rig seems to make the most sense for me. I think it'll be the easiest to put on and take off with a slick carrier underneath.
im always suprised how people Prioritize chest rigg Features.
Having a Split rig is a tiny bit easier to put on and off for the collectively 20 seconds you spend taking it on and off. for the rest maybe +8 hours of your use it makes no difference exept it takes prime real estate.
If your usecase does not Include you having to put your rigg on and off in a stress situation maybe if youre on Standby and need to get ready fast then i dont see how that takes priority
@@Nick-hm9rhYou do have a very good point but having a fast rigg to put on in the trunk of your car if shit goes down isn't a bad thing rather then trying to put on something that takes more time to secure. If that's something you find important of course.
DAM I JUMPED 😂
Nice intro.
dude this intro 😲💘
The SOE micro rig predates all of the micro rig by almost 20 years, it’s old, it’s not modular but a lot of lessons learned from this rig gave way to all the rigs that honestly haven’t been around for that long. And Rhodesian/ SA rigs predated all that stuff which were long sustainment rigs for long recce missions in the bush. All this gear is cyclical.
Chest rigs do have their place and uses. I find myself using a vest more often because I can put more pouches on it.
I feel you need at least 3 chest rigs, and im doing a start over, 8 mags+1 and a few pistol mags and ifak, still working out the other 2
Rewatching the intro 😮
I really like the Eagle RRV if I’m going to use a “chest rig” as it gives me the option for some ballistic protection.
But if y’all are looking for a cool chest rig keep an eye on Kinetic Relief Operations
we will look it up
Damn, that spirit pilot got absolutely vibe checked. Should have flown for Delta.
I miss my tactical tailor with the y harness over my ranger plated body armor from oif 1-3. I always ran 14 mags and a few times came in the fob with 8-12 rounds, but clearing a house you felt like state puff.
I'm a fan of the Helikon rig, I replaced the shock cords with Kywi inserts.
1:12 "Rico! You know what to do!"
I've been using an FLC2 for years. Not a bad starter setup.
The SOE micro rig is my preferred choice
This was my first time watching one of your videos and I love it and would love to come train with you guys. I live in north central florida,, close to Jacksonville. How far away are you guys
Dwayne
Have to say out of my several rigs I tend to gravitate towards my TT MK2 (standard 4 pouch) i can have armor up front but an open back for pack. Usually 6 mags plus helpful item in 4th mag pouch. the larger oblique pouches hold bottle water, snacks, batteries, and everything else that i might want to not dive into a pack for. med, pistol ammo, and single rifle mag on belt.
The webbing is used sparingly since its already a double mag pouch thick and frankly i dont need extra crap lol
I'd love to Here you guys talk about other LBE systems aside from Chest rigs.
Like the Velocity Jungle Kit or the JayJays Webbing.
Kits better suited to environments like Florida, Louisiana, Texas, ect.
I use chest rigs because I play gelsoft and it doesn’t really hurt, and overall chest rigs are easier and more comfortable to wear in my opinion, but just use what you want we don’t need comment wars..
How are y’all more Call of Duty than Call of Duty?!?! That intro was intensely rad! Great job, y’all!
As a fellow nerd I am so happy to see that the truck's name is a nerdy reference.
Digging the Green Mountain Boy flag.
Still holding out for the Mini Micro Chest Rig that converts into the Tier 1 Macro Recce Rig.
Oh shit, I see we're upping the production quality
thanks so much for checking out the channel!
Who makes the split rig with the four mags and tubes in the middle? That looks awesome!
Let’s goooo!
LFG!!!
Would like to see your all's full 3 lines of gear set ups.
I have chest rigs but during my larping sessions, I find myself moving back to my plate carrier
Plates are cumbersome but I find I carry far more, more comfortably on the carriers and in turn loading up my belt with 3 rifle mags, and 3 pistol mags, along with the 6&3 on my carrier, and been looking at how to secure more water to those items.
Sustainability is always spoken of, and I've been to classes, where the instructor is preaching it, yet I look around and in the only guy with a water bottle on my rig.
I also pack a water filtration system on my carrier and if I had to ditch it, that would go into my dump pouch immediately, where I have 3 bags of trail mix in the bottom.
Ounces =Pounds. Pounds=Pain
But when talking load outs, you really are talking survivability. And theses items are every bit as critical to your survival as ammo, coms, and land navigation equipment, and more so.
IMO
Been hearing varying opinions on where to keep your IFAK. Some guys want them on the front for easy access. Some feel it's better on the back to avoid damage to it and counting on your buddy to get to it to take care of your wounds.
IFAK should be out of the way on the plate carrier, and center line “ish” on your belt. Key is to be able to access it if you need it, for self aid, in reality if your buddy is in trouble medical gear get pulled out from everyone’s kit to try and help, that is just the reality of what happens, hopefully there is a group medic that can get to them quickly
I run a multicam fannypack, that way it stays on without the bulk of a battle belt
7:22 versatile is the word your looking for
I like that heavy chest rig setup what are the pouches on it on the sides of the mag pouches
how about VIDEO on how to camoflauge your rifle (in the intro Broll sequence) ...Do it!
Ok fine we will do one.
The answer is haley strategic , spiritus systems lbx
What is the grey split front rig in the video?
Good talk to listen. Chest rig plus Simple plate carrier better suits light infantry tactics in my opinion. On the other site, integrated plate carrier is great for Direct, special operations and counterterrorism.
Intro was cool, but boy tactically some of the worse decisions one could make haha. No covering fire, went straight to dragging a guy who just just got shot which = you getting shot next. I'm overly nitpicking though lol.
Oddly for work as a handyman I've really been digging using a standard FLC. Don't really see me using it for actual shooting loadouts, but for working on the job its been pretty legit.
Its really nice being able to just disconnect the middle and let the vest hang to the side of the body instead of always having that weight on the front wearing your back (especially when I literally spend work days leaning forward killing my lower back for vinyl/carpet/tile work). Having that weight move from the front to directly to my center is a big helper. Also lets me lay prone for plumbing in tight spots where I have to squeeze through better. Used a chest rig, before but it kept having to take it off to squeeze in the same spaces. And when working outside its alot less hot haha. Hm also really like how I can layer things better vertically instead of being stuck with one level of equipment, I can have a long up top for crowbars, drywall saw, hammer, and smaller pouches or expandable drop bags on bottom of the FLC for like drills, drink bottles, caulk gun, trash, bulk stuff.
Anothing I like about the FLC is that it lets me use my actual coverall shirt pockets in tandem unlike a chest rig that pratically makes them unusable. I also really dig the inside pockets of the FLC which lets me stick alot of random oddball sized stuff that I constantly need to grab like staple refills, tape measure, manuals/notes, electrical tape, many stacks of medical gloves and cleanup rags.
Haha this is only for work though. In actual shooting setups I feel its lacking as its harder to loadout as efficiently the further you get from the front of the FLC. And having stuff ont he back when you do unbuckle can run up your back or make things cumbersome. Speaking of which another bad of the FLC is that its notably heavier than I expected for a seethrough vest lol.
As of now though for shooting loadouts I've only really been using a AC1 for concealment armor only, and a SPC for gear. I've tried a few cheapo amazon chest rigs (4 so far), but I haven't found one I've liked to keep using. Like my SPC though.
the lessons learned were intentionally placed into the intro. what gave away the scouts you think?
@Barrel & Hatchet lol feel sad only my intro comment got your thoughts, but I understand.
I bought the TAPS and have upgraded it. Whole thing has cost under 150 after all the upgrades.
