Sharp Tele. :) I think the best way to demo a distortion/amp sound pedal is thru something nonstandard such as this Bruno. At times when I must play quietly thru my little SS Fender Frontman 15r, my Tweed '57 sounds great even thru THAT. Wampler make good stuff, I'm getting more of them (God willing) ! Good demo.
Because for me, using a humbucker is sort of cheating, anyone can make a humbucker sound good when you drench it in gain and they can become characterless. I like the idea of actually crafting a tone, getting to a nice distortion with single coils takes more effort and you learn so many more things on the way. That, and it's a pedal, it's not an always on device, the clean sound of a bridge pickup is fairly piercing and I would never use it for a clean tone. Cheers for watching dude!
Ps I've been playing for years. Using humbuckers is not cheating. To some people including me, they sound better, you can get more gain. I can play either single coils or humbuckers. I prefer the latter. Far from cheating. U can always split your humbuckers as well.
Im between this and the triple wreck. I like both, but would choose THIS over the TW. Also I love the name, Sovereign, its fitting because I play in church allot
I use a neck humbucker. What's wrong with that? The bridge pup is way too trebly. If it isn't for u Then you've started losing your hearing. High frequencies go first
JHS angry charlie,jHS all american, Emma Reezafratzits, purple plexi 800, Brown pig that no one ever speaks of but Brett kingman. He did a great review. Miaudio crunchbox. Rockbox baby blues.
Actually I don't like this pedal after spending time with it. It just wasn't that great like everyone was saying. I have a lot better pedals. It got returned. Waiting on v2 triple wreck. Not a big Wampler fan. Have the pinnacle. Just ok. Have my favorites none of which r wamplers. Sorry.
Thanks for the vid; you just saved me a couple hundy. I already have the Pinnacle (which I love) but am always looking for new/better tone. This was just 'meh.'
Dude! You're so right - I HATE when people seem to not notice that; I walked out on an audition because a guy did that and didn't seem to notice how awful it sounded and how bad it made the band sound. The rhythm guitarist was obliviously playing (out of tune, I might add) an electric guitar with the bridge pickup where an acoustic was called for; just strumming away blithely. I don't mean to sound too snobbish, but c'mon; use the right tool for the job, no? At least use the neck pup lol.
Hmm, I learn something new every day. Hendrix was wrong for using primarily Strats with his Fuzz Faces and Marshalls. Duly noted.

I like this better than the triple wreck. It was bringing in radio stations.

I wonder if you look as ignorant as you sound.
Try using a Fender Twin at about 4 or 5 on a clean channel before it breaks up then kick in Sovereign.

Good review. But I think I'll stick with my Triple Wreck.
I don't understand why you're using single coils 99.99999% of the time for a distortion pedal demo?
How does this pedal do with strats? Is it noisey?
It's better than the pinnacle. Are you insane

BECAUSE SINGLE COILS WIN!
