Would be much better to run such long length locomotive / sets on curved tracks and also i suggest you add that curve part for demonstration as permanent setup for future videos

6 axle drive, impressive, 8 axle drive pulls nearly anything you put behind it, what I would give to know what the pulling capacity of 12 axles and all brass construction adds up too? 200 cars? 300 on a level track? more ? I suppose if I could afford it, my layout would be big enough to test it :)

    Hi
I presume that you are Adam. I enjoy your internet site, though I've only been able to purchase therefrom on perhaps one occasion.
I'd love to purchase this or a least the NJCB version, but not likely as this is worth more than my car!
    Thank you!

      Hey Dale,
Yes this is an ultra premium model and it’s quite fantastic. The other company that made this is ALCO imports which we also had at one time.
Feel free to reach out anytime Dale!

Absolutely beautiful model. It's a shame it was a fuel guzzler and didn't catch on. It would be so sweet if they wouldn't have scrapped it and CSX Railroad could have refurbished it for excursions.

I think this guy has the UP Gas Turbine Electics confused with Jawn? Jawn ran on coal

It was not fuel usage, as much as the feed water heater and valve problems. It was a head of it time, with modern technology in would have been bad ass

Beautiful Locomotive she was as she was the Longest Steam Engine ever made most Rail Fans don't know that they think the Big Boy was NOPE! The Jawn Henry worked just like a standard Steam Engine only she made Electricity for her Traction Motors instead of Steam, look it up what makes a steam Engine, Boiler, Pistons, Coal, Water, Firebox yeah, she had all that!!! that's considered a Steam Engine, nothing about Turbine is said. Big Boy isn't the Longest or the Biggest as C&O Allegheny Class are and still around Kicking it smartly, as first time Big Boy derails maybe it's her last time running as it shouldn't be running at all periods, not smart it is running a one of a kind, until yeah.

Only little boys reverse direction when the train is moving. A great way to strip gears.
The loco was coal powered (stored in the loco); other two cars hold water, no fuel oil.
