love bauhaus, when punk, new wave came out we were hooked, and died our hair crazy colors in 1983 and got in trouble at work, and wore new wave and punk clothes and went to all the nightclubs in San Francisco and San Jose, California, we had so much fun from 1983 - 1990, until we all got married, then our nightclubbing days were over.
Cheers from Orange County... 51 this July 10th... We had Knott's Berry farm.. club inside called Cloud 9... 1986 to 90... Plus a few clubs nights in Long Beach... I will always be that DeathRocker kid...
One of the great bands for covers. Bauhaus was my ultimate teenage band, their music brings back the best memories, and it never got any better than Bauhaus. Teenage heaven.
An American, fresh college grad., in London, 1986. Camden Market. This song came across the din from a boombox. I asked the vendor selling cassettes from a blanket, "Who is this?". "Bauhaus mate". Having no money, I traded my shirt for the cassette. Shirtless, and smiling, my personal renaissance began.
Too anyone who owned the VHS ... pure envy.. it's was rare back in the day.. the Live one and Video comp.. cheers from Southern California Death Rocker kid from 80s..
Used to have a tshirt with his face emerging from black in the mid '80s. Too small now, but ordered a new Bauhaus tshirt late last year. Bauhaus never goes out of style. ;)
I am an original pUnK from 1977! By 1979 I was also a massive Bowie/ Iggy fan and had found another wonderful band from my home town (Joy Division) ! By 1980 I was getting bored with how 'The punk scene' had gone, I was never into that 'MOD REVIVAL' scene that happened in 1979 after the release of 'Quadrophenia' , although I love 'The Who' and early 'Jam' but I truly hated the 'Oi' scene, even though I did buy early stuff by 'Crass' and 'Discharge' who I saw live, but I started to lean towards bands like The Cure and more of what Siouxsie and the Banshees were releasing , and having always been a fan of TREX ( and Marc's championing of punk and especially The Damned) when I heard of BAUHAUS, I was drawn to them immediately ! Amazing British punk/Glam/Goth band! dx
The Older Kids.. would bestow this information, if they actually cared.... As a fan of only the fast songs.. this is one of course... T.Rex version is it's own.. like this one is Bauhaus

I always thought this song was great, loved the guitar sound, its the first time I saw the video though, growing up in 80's South Africa those kind of things were oh so rare! Cool, thanks for posting this classic.
In the early years of Bauhaus. Peter looks more like a Goth - Version of the Joker than a Vampire 🖤 but anyway..he looks absolutely incredible with this Make Up
The 80's were a strange place. On the downside were Reaganomics, Thatcherism, AIDS and the constant threat of nuclear holocaust. The plus side, a select cadre of incredible bands. It was a truly horrible time, but the music was so good.
Shoichleach74 Callum. Whatever seems to have quite a lot of pent-up animosity toward Americans. They post anti American sentiment all over RUclips. They don't really seem to have much of a point. And the rest of us just get to enjoy the music, the memories and life in the U.S.A. for what it's worth. ✌😀🇺🇸

Love it better than Marc Bolan's version. Telegram Sam on speed, Pete Murphy was a great performer , very theatrical. I tried to do my hair like Daniel Ash in my younger, goth, days. I crimped it, put some blue dye on it, backcombed it and used tons of hair spray. I looked more like a demented tomcat on heat.
This is for when the world is about “Pi, the Movie,” but you don’t understand what it means, for when all the Great Masters are rhetorical quadrivium jokes, and it is the last will of God in the Force. This is for when Da Vinci is reborn as your neighbor and sits at the back of the class so you need to put on a helmet and beat your head against a pole, but instead some other guy does it for you. This is for when your flesh creeps with space bacteria and is carried away by spirit birds that are dead souls, and for when the stars all sing praises and glory to your name. This is for when denominators dance in your dreams, then carry you off to Hell for games of pain and pleasure. This is for when the spirits are all feminine and raised out of Hell so you have to rebuild all the churches. Credit to Bauhaus record sleeve.

That's a great touch in the video - Peter with his mother, just like how Bowie did the same thing in his recent video at that time for Ashes To Ashes.
@ivorytower99... Wow! Is that really Pete's mum? Never pictured her to be a petite woman. SO cool, if it's true, that it really is her!! Cheers. : )
Of course, the lady in the Ashes to Ashes video is not Bowie's real mother.
