    Philadelphia, Pennsylvania’s largest city, is notable for its rich history, on display at the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall (where the Declaration of Independence and Constitution were signed) and other American Revolutionary sites. Also iconic are the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, immortalized by Sylvester Stallone’s triumphant run in the film "Rocky."

      @@jutahsweet! I remember talking to you before and you were saying Philly was one of your fav American cities! But yeah kensington avenue in north Philly is very rough. They have programs where they clean the streets up and help the addicts. But unfortunately people come from all over the country for phillys fent and it’s been hard to stop since the police don’t have much power to get them off the streets. The more east you go like within east kensington , and olde kensington, it gets nicer. I’d say to the east of frankford avenue or even a few streets west of frankford , you start to see some newer homes pop up with young professionals. Fishtown and northern liberties used to be very rough areas, but have totally 180’d starting around 2007-08

      @@Dalt21 ive always enjoyed it, especially during the summer! good to chat again. yeah before i was going back to philly this summer i searched youtube to see if there were any new driving videos and for weeks i got all these kensington videos. its odd to me that is the type of content youtube will surface first. but hey, the idea is that the recommendation system is just showing you what is most popular. or what the average person wants to see. i do now remember there was this one commenting years ago telling me over and over to film in kensington and i just figured it was a nice place like the one in london. anyway. this is a good reminder to get tout of the city center and bit and explore. at one point i even looked up rocky's neighborhood from the movies. ill make a list

    • @Dalt21
      @Dalt21 9 месяцев назад

      @@jutah a lot of Rocky’s sights are in tougher areas of the city such as kensington. But there are some south Philly spots that are filmed to, which is where I just moved too! But Yeah it is odd that kensington is such a hot topic now. It seems like since Covid, people have taken advantage of the views itll give you. A lot of it highlights some problems that maybe in turn will lead to some awareness and solutions. And I think people watch these videos in genuine shock that this could be the USA. When in reality this is everywhere, all over the world. But it seems like a lot of those kensington videos are filmed just for clout, or to bash these people, or even use it as a political blight against a large city. There are so many areas of Philly that are great. Even in the tougher areas you can see some great architecture and meet some great people. I appreciate what you do, showing the real city, along with many along the world. Drive safe!

      Actually, you can be ticketed or towed. But as an old city, laid out before cars, the parking authority are overwhelmed with the fact that the city was not built with modern traffic in mind. Mass public transportation was a great solution for past generations but today people don't have the patience for buses, trains or even cabs.
