Thank you! The Litter Robot is new to me and somehow I missed the step of swapping out the key on the back. I kept getting “motor jammed” messages and litter was spilling out the back when I would take hopper off. Found your video and it clicked….I missed the key part. Now it’s fixed! Thank you!!
Also, make sure the bonnet is seated properly in the back of the litter-robot or the hopper won’t engage. That happened to me and once I repositioned the bonnet, the error message cleared.
Hi Sandy, nothing gets stuck inside the hole that won't allow the cat litter to fall through. Whas has happened to me is that occasionally (about twice a month) a clump could be too close to the big tab on the back and won't be dumped into the waste drawer, and will be back into the litter bed, but nothing gets stuck inside the hole. So no, the hole never gets blocked with anything.
Can the hopper be activated without using the app? I have a LR4 but do not use the app for it, I run clean cycles manually using the buttons on the machine itself. I don't have a smart phone.
I was giving you another answer asumming you just don't use the app, but after reading again I see you don't have a phone. I don't think it's possible to connect the Litter Hopper without the App because Whisker always mentions the firmware software being updated for this installation to work. Just to be sure call them and see what they tell you.
@@catfooddispensersreviews2696 I went to the website myself after watching your video, to check for myself, and yeah I came to the same conclusion that the hopper cannot be installed activated without using the app on a smart phone. Too bad for me! But thank you for answering my question!
Hi,I am just wondering what type of litter you use and if it tracks. I guess I have been using the wrong litter (the lightweight one) and it tracks everywhere. Also, I have the litter robot 3 how much bigger is the inside of the litter robot 4? Thank you
Hi, currently I am using Arm & Hammer Multicat and it works well, my cat jumps out the Litter Robot when she's done using it, she doesn't walk out using the ramp, only when she enters the litter box so there's cat litter outside and on the litter mat, but I haven't seen cat litter on the couch or the floors at all, only outside the Litter Robot because of my cat's behavior. The Litter Robot 4 is similar inside than the Litter Robot 3 but a little wider at the entry and in my case, the Robot 4 is wider inside because I have the old Litter Robot 3 with a flap separated from the globe and I understand the Litter Robot 3 now doesn't have that. Hope that helps :)
Hi Rachel, the App is the Whisker App and if you bought the Litter Robot 4 already including the Litter Hopper you just need to activate the Litter Hopper when you activate the Litter Robot 4. If you purchased the Litter Hopper apart and want to install it in your existing Litter Robot you need to follow the steps on this video.
Trying to install on 2 different litter robots and it's not working. Not sure what I am doing wrong. I wonder if I need to update my firmware. I have never done this. The only other thing is I do struggle to get the bonnet fully flush. The Litter Robot is working as it should, but the hopper does not disperse.
Hi john, I had the same issue and it was that I didn't have the firmware updated. Regarding the bonnet you need to place it on the back first and carefully adjust on the sides until it clicks, if it doesn't click easily do it again starting from the back. If you update the firmware and it still doesn't work contact customer service, they will help you.

I wonder if the opening for the litter to fall through can cause problems. Cant dirty litter get stuck in the hole when it turns?
