Rest In Peace Christine McVie, your sweet voice is a joy forever ❤
Right on👍👍
Missing her...
Sweet Songbird, Soar With Your Whitewings❤🎉💔🎉
she was a fox in her 30's,but like you say what a voice and fleetwoods songs have stood the test of time
I always preferred Christine to Stevie.
Fleetwood Mac had so many layers of tallent
including spelling the word talent
@@tech-eq5obwell Mick Fleetwood...
Christine's voice is like getting a hug.
It really is 🥹 that’s so spot on
She was definitely underrated as a singer. She had such a perfect voice and vocal style for a love/sex song like this one.
Yep, she's rocking here. Could be the bottle of wine sitting there lol ❤
Well said
I am so grateful to whomever made the Midnight Special into a RUclips channel 🤗🤗
I'll second that! Graduated in 78 and this was the soundtrack of my youth. Cheers
@@Hillbilly001 I graduated in 1974. We are lucky to have had the best that music had to offer at that time.
@@marygriffiths2950 Yeppers. Midnight Special was where it was at back then. Course, it was the only thing back then. LoL. Cheers
@@Hillbilly001 Cheers 🍻🥂 to you too!! P.S. I'm from Chicago but have lived in Alabama for 35 years. They call us hillbillies!!
@@marygriffiths2950 LOL! I picked up the hillbilly when I went to school in Illinois. Washington to be exact about 30 miles from Peoria. Back then it was fight'n words. During my time in the Army, I learned to embrace it. I've been back in the South since I got out in 90. I reckon being a hillbilly is just a part of me. LoL. I am country born. LoL. Besides, them folks in Alabama are a little tetched, bless their hearts. Cheers
After repeated listens, what sticks out to me if how each member was intensely listening to the sound of the other members. They understood so well that their individual parts were just a fraction of the band's sound. This discipline allowed perfection to be realized.
And one of those members is her ex-husband…and the song is a love letter to the guy she was cheating on him with. Now there’s discipline.
Just a gorgeous song by the perfect Christine. Also, gotta appreciate Lindsey's beautiful, sparkly guitar riffs. What a band
Lindsey's tone and playing is absolutely gorgeous.
Lindsey was ,and is, VERY talented. But these people together, were better than the sum of their parts. They are all SO good alone, but when they came together…MAGIC.
She was the real talent in the band. RIP.
True Christine McVie was the Voice ❤️👍🏽
@@dorisjohn85I agree. I always preferred her voice. Very sensual and soothing
1970's when popular music was true art and not commodified.
She had such a lovely voice. I love her songwriting too.
Christines voice is under-rated.
Love her voice.
Yes
She was a really underrated singer and song writer.
She wrote all their best songs, what a talent she was ❤️
Stevie playing the rasp, her and Christine singing perfect harmonies, Christines' beautiful voice and electric piano, Lindsays' guitar part floating thru the mix lighter than air, Mick and John laying down a rhythm so thick you could walk on it. Music like this will never be made again...
Perfect description of their sound. That was the formula.
Christine rip, such a heavenly voice
I know it's just a personal preference, but I always liked Christine's voice over Stevie's.
@@57highland Not close for me, but just as many if not more prefer Stevie's voice. Personal preference.
Agreed. Much more soothing and smooth.
Stevie sounds like Elmer Fudd.
elmer fudd? are you stupid or what? Fn idiot
Same here. Christie had a sweeter tone and actually made Nick's singing sound less refined.
Buckingham is such an underrated guitarist
Christine's and Stevie's voices together is beautiful.
This is a good recording
. I can distinguish Christine and Stevie's voices. Not bad for a phone speaker.
Crissy was a great singer, beautiful voice now resting in peace
I just found this channel today, (Dec. 2023) been binge watching the hell out of it…! Some of these songs I haven’t heard in many, many years. But a soon as I hear them, I know ever word!!!
Perfect tribute to Christine. Brilliant song.
Imagine playing bass on the song your wife wrote about her lover, the lighting guy. The 70s were a different time.
Yepper, just one of the varied soap opera storylines of the great band that we all know and love, Fleetwood Mac.
They certainly were and it reminds me of: "The Winner Takes It All" by Abba, which is a similar situation but in reverse. Agnetha is singing a song written by her (soon to be?) ex-husband about their divorce.
I wanna live in this video.
Love them live!.....always been my favorite track on 'Rumours'. What ever Christine wrote or sung has special significance in my life. She was the foundation, the heart and soul of Fleetwood Mac. Dear lady, you are greatly missed. Rest peacefully ❤❤
Stevie's backing vocals at 2:40 gave me chills.
so Christine who wrote and sings the song is DEAD and you compliment stevie? SMH
@@Retroearthling I complimented Stevie's backing vocals because I haven't heard them like this ANYWHERE ELSE. We all know how fantastic Christine is. Calm down,
Great harmonies
@@trondrewseriously right?
me too! i love that part. stevie was so sultry. oh my. what a smoke show.
Wow, great way to get started on a Saturday morning. Christine (RIP) sung a beautiful song. "Rumours" is too good to even describe.
Well said!
Fleetwood Mac was all about rhythm.
These guys used to party all night and record their best music at like 3-4am. My kinda band.
I always loved Chris' songs. She is such a firm believer in love.
That was like a picture come to life! Great sound quality for those days
A song that stands the test of time. It will be current and magical a hundred years from now,.
Jesus, this is SO much better than the album version it has completely changed my perception of the song. I don't know if I can ever listen to the radio single version of this again.
Fleetwood mac really showed the real talent on stage of midnight special, best live performance hands down
Back when great musicians populated rock music. Those were the days.
When talent mattered
Thanks Christine for the songs and great voice. RIP
The eagles and Fleetwood mac offered the same type of variety, multiple lead singers and each singer had their list of songs.
I feel it in my heart every time I hear Christie McVie’s voice. So velvety.
John McVie's bass line in this song is impeccable.
Her voice was so soothing and calming. ❤
A few weeks ago, on a perfect spring afternoon, I was driving, and "Say That You Love Me" came on the radio, and I hadn't heard it in a while, and it just MADE MY DAY!
Christine at her finest, always brings beautiful memories of what she brought to the world thru her music ❤❤
Best version of this song
Christie McVie was a real pro. We were lucky to have her lavish us with great songs.
One of the things I always loved about Fleetwood Mac (this lineup-the one I grew up with) is the fact they had 3 superb, and very unique lead vocalists...really made their albums "pop"...as an aside, I really get a kick out of John and Lindsey's attire here..Lindsey looks like he is performing in his bathrobe, and John, well, he looks like he grabbed a random t shirt and pair of shorts from a thrift store without even looking at them, much less trying them on..😄 ...oh, and the other thing, I have always wondered why Mick is always making big eyes and holding his mouth open when he performs?...
cocaine
He/they were high as a kite, as I would've been!
"Mick Fleetwood says he wouldn’t be the drummer he is today without his dyslexia.
He writes about dyslexia and his music in his new memoir, Play On: Now, Then, and Fleetwood Mac, which he co-authored with Anthony Bozza.
His unorthodox drumming style has been described as “casual, nontechnical and inexplicable.” Fleetwood offers a similar view of his playing in his book.
“Dyslexia has absolutely tempered the way I think about rhythm and the way I’ve played my instrument,” he writes. “By nature, what we drummers do is manage a series of spinning plates… (but) my methods of keeping my plates spinning are entirely my own.”"
Simply wow! I miss real talent in the music industry!
Christine was the best singer in the band and the glue that held them together.
Christine McVie you were the BOMB, loved your voice RIP. ;-)
Great live version of great song off Rumours, Christine really nails it 🎵🎶🎵❤️
So damn good!! The soundtrack of my youth….and beyond! 🔥🔥🔊🔊🎶🎶👊🏽👍🏽❤️😁
Mine too
Mine too. Was 18 at the time.
A band that shaped and defined a generation of music we all love🎼🎸💯
Fleetwood Mac.the Original.. Supergroup....RIP Christine....We All Miss You 🙏❤️
Plenty of supergroups before this version of FM was around. Peter Green’s version was great but had issues.
Takes me back to a moment when I was a child, 6 or 7 years old. Mid to late 70s. My surroundings aren’t clear, but the sounds and the music are. I’m in an old vehicle with a bushy, dark-haired man driving. Groovy, he’s a hippie, he’s chill. The windows are down and the sun warms my face. My stringy whitish blond hair pelts my skin from the wind blowing. Staring entranced out the window, my body is absorbing every lyric and note. Another kid tells me my fingernails are dirty. I don’t care. I love this feeling, I want it forever
Christie busy with them keyboards and singing LOL
Such an incredible song, performed by what is probably the greatest rock band ever. Christine's vocal is sublime!
Sweet Christine, you were perfect.
indeed she was
christine brought the talent every bit as much as stevie, her songs are great
R.I.P. Christine. Miss you.
The best music during the best of times.
Their creation of the albums Fleetwood Mac, Rumours & Tusk is pure genius and magic.
Doing it all back to back is untouchable.
**sigh** I just miss her everyday. But her music is with us always.
You know you're a bad@$$ band when your songs resanate with people almost 50 years later!
Iconic doesn't even come close to describing this masterpiece !
👊😔🥹😍😆😚🤩😎🇺🇸
Christine McVie, you were always my favourite, thank you for your beautiful voice and magical compositions. Even better, John Mcvie had to play bass and listen to a song Christine wrote about another guy she adored after the separation. Kudos to this band for keeping together
Christine McVie was my favorite member of this band. Great song writer.
Beautiful and Talented Christine ❤
I was watching her sing last night.
I really like and respect her music.
christine was such a babe,i'm goin to miss her!!!
Christie Mac!
Legendary ❤ I was a 70s kid, I was brought up with Rumours. ✌️🎨🖌️❤️🙏
They are so endearing. Mick Fleetwood with his goofy facial expressions. Christine McVie's earnestness. John McVie looking like he just stepped off his fishing boat.
Everyone has their rock and roll finery on, and then there is John looking he just got home from a weekend at NASCAR
Wonder what caused Lindsay to adopt that genius picking style. A true maverick.
A very underrated one at that
I'm pretty sure he's self taught, it's his natural style
Not a maverick, a throwback. His is a very old style. Gives him a unique sound.
Free concert TV nationwide . Way before MTV . I wish I had digital recorder back then .
The BEST version with Stevie Nicks’ backvocal.
Lindsey’s lingerie, fro, and that white Les Paul… so pimpin’!
I go back and listen and it’s so wonderful that this is here thanks wolfman
Great dance song . This was a very big radio hit back in the 70s
Fun
That guiro is mixed hot!
Oh a great song
R.I.P goddess......
got to hand it to her......Shes amazing
Hit Parade podcast has a great 2 part series on Christine McVie called "Thinking About Tomorrow" if you want to learn more about McVie and her legacy with the band.
Mick trying to drum while clearly cooked is hilarious. nailed it though!
Of the three on vocals Christine McVie had the best voice. RIP
Fleetwood yawning. Lol. The “rumors of Fleetwood Mac” does that song perfectly.
Rest in peace. ❤Christine McVie,wonderfull song
This groove is the gear
What a beauty Christine was great voice great musician RIP
I love Stevie grinding her little stick instrument.

What a voice .. my god what a voice. RIP Songbird.
Awesome talent backed by best musicians ever lived..
She had the ability to sing like no other chick with or without uppers
Interesting vocal outro instead of the albums Fallin Fallin Fallin.
I cannot believe this is nearly 50 years ago. Christine McVie had the most beautiful voice.
So seductive.
Christine McVie
RIP and thank you so much for the music/memories.. 💿
Randy A Carlisle
It's like I grew up listening to them so sad that she had to go a little early...I pray she is with God
Holy shit Mick and Lindsey have such a groove goin' here
I absolutely love the warm tone of Christy's voice❤🎉😊
❤❤❤ sadly missed
One group I wished I had seen live, didn’t appreciate them at the time but sure do now❤
What a fantastic voice she got. Together with Stevie Nicks it was fuckin perfect 🥰🙌🏼💯👍🏼It was a such succesful Band during the mid seventies and early eighties
The Midnight Special with Wolfman Jack, Saturday Night Live....GOOD TIMES!
