Christine would have been 81 years old today. Unbelievable. This music is timeless.
When I was a little kid, I had all my favorite songs by Fleetwood Mac memorized. When I grew up, I found out they were all written by Christine McVie
love everyone's stories
Same here!
IMHO she was always the more talented between her and Nicks.
she wrote the most beautiful songs
Yep. As a kid, I was crazy over Stevie like everyone else. Then I learned Christine was the best.
Great to see Christine McVie shine!
I agree. Trust me she has always shined from the get go. Back when you only had your ears to appreciate the music. And the Midnight Special. 😊
What an elegant woman with a beautiful voice rest in peace
Christine . The heart and soul of the band.
Love their harmonies. They always worked so perfectly together. Neither of them ever tried to dominate the other.
Christine was an amazing writer and singer. Loved this band ❤
The background music to my life. John really shines on this one. We miss you Christine… R.I.P. ❤
I've always loved this song by them and Christy mcvie's voice is like butter
I was a big fan of Christine McVie. She was the lead singer of FM in my mind. RIP
Yes. Way better than SN. Stevie had like 2 tunes I like. CM..beautiful voice , gentle. Humble.
That bass is nasty. It makes the song
Fuckin' A, man. Shit's hot.
John McVie is killing it on this song.
too bad he didn't get a closeup
@@pmsfar-outgrooviness8025Yeah, his pocket is so deep and the sound of that Alembic is like butter.
He is. I thought he was using a pick on this but was surprised to see him (when they finally showed him) using his fingers. I've always loved John's playing through the many incarnations of the band.
I will never be even 1/100 as cool as anyone on that stage.
But you may have people to look up to, role models to some extend...
I totally agree! I’ve been sitting here at the age of 60 wondering if I can learn how to play guitar and be even a little cool! 😎
Stevie and Christine both brought their best attributes to make Fleetwood Mac one of the greatest and most memorable rock bands. Bithe of them had phenomenal voices. Out the two ladies, Christine had the most unique voice.
Thank you for sharing! 💖
This video and music is burned into my internal hard drive, if i went blind and deaf, i know i could still see& hear this 😊
Thank you Midnight Special 🤗🤗
One of my favorite Fleetwood Mac songs pre Rumers era 😊
RIP Christine!
What a kick ass band. RIP, Chris
The Rhythm section is so good. The eponymous duo is somehow overlooked in the discussion, but throughout all the various versions of the band these dudes were the foundation.
Absolutely John McVie and Mick such a distinct sound
zero shots of them in the video
John and Mick were always spot on and made all their songs just roll along.Sure do miss Christine.
Any musician KNOWS that Mick and John were one of the finest rhythm sections of any band. As a bass player, I am a big John and Mick fan!
Longest running rhythm section in rock.
I love the look stevie gave Lindsy in the middle.
Lindsey & Stevie definitely have a secret language where they can communicate with each other without even saying a word
How young they looked! And me too !
Sensational performance.
She was just magical. SUCH an aura.
Pretty good back up singers!
Philadelphia USA 🇺🇸
My first concert at Spectrum I was able to go at the age of 12 with my older cousins
The best singer in this band! Four great singers for my women’s Mt.Rushmore
Karen Carpenter
Linda Ronstadt
Chrissy McVie
Annie Lennox
Beautiful Christine! Awesome ❤️
Christine McVie is pure excellence and elegant ❤❤
Her voice is from the sad part of heaven
What a beautiful comment.
These kids are the band geeks at school and they're awesome (I was 1 too in my day) Cooler than the jocks Rock on 🤟
The Buckingham Nicks merger with Fleetwood Mac was the greatest merger in music history!
A fateful and historic merger ...
One of the very rare times ive seen Lindsey Buckingham using a pick...!!
I noticed that too.
I thought the exact same thing...caught me by surprise when I saw it
Yes, I think it's because he's playing a strat here & the extensive use of harmonics. Hard to do without a pick. Watch as he hits the last note as a harmonic. Awesome.
That's the very reason I came to the comment section. I wanted to ask any guitarists out there... why?
It’s also the only time I’ve seen Lindsey using a strat
I was born and raised here in Hawaii in 1968. So, I was blessed to be able to grow up with amazingly great songs during the 70’s and ‘80’s(I graduated in 1986).
I have sooooo many favorite bands and solo artists from that era that are still in my heart and soul and near the top of my list…TheGo-Go’s…ZZ Top…Eagles…Chicago/Peter Cetera…Wings/McCartney…Sade…James Taylor…Journey…Carole King…Linda Ronstadt…Eddie Money…Toto…Billy Joel…Air Supply…Steely Dan…Cyndi Lauper…Annie Lennox…Elton John…The Doobie Brothers…The Alan Parsons Project…Genesis/Phil Collins…Supertramp…TheStevie Wonder…The Cars…ELO…Little River Band…The Bee Gees…Dr. Hook…Commodores/Lionel Richie…Kenny Rogers…The Manhattans…Bryan Adam’s…Foreigner…Dan Fogelberg…England Dan & John Ford Coley…Marvin Gaye…ABBA…George Michael…Styx…Pat Benatar…Sheena Easton… Billy Idol…Huey Lewis & The News… Bread…Hall & Oates…Alabama…Carpenters…Queen…John Denver…Debarge… Van Halen…Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers…Smokey Robinson…UB40…ZAPP/Roger…Rod Stewart…Roberta Flack…Ray Parker Jr/Radio….38 Special…Richard Marx…
…just a few off the top of my head😄😁
Just a couple? 🙃.
AND: I hope you’re safe in Hawaii 🫢❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹

🤭😆. Yes, that’s what happens with a music major. Sorry ‘bout that…I always get carried off and lost in my music🎼🤘🏾
Heartfelt Mahalo for asking, 2849….I live on O'ahu, but, have family there. Haven’t heard from two of them yet. Gut wrenching.
If it, truly, wasn’t for music…😔 I’d be deep in freak out mode. The devastation is so sad. I was stationed in Germany when my unit went out to the first Gulf War in Kuwait in ‘91….film footage of Maui has sadly brought back memories I thought I had suppressed waaaay deep into my next lifetime…..umm, nope.
Probably what I get for not seeing someone about back then, huh?🤔. Oh, well…I’m in my fifty’s now…so, just a few more years to hang on to.
Again, thank you for asking. The outpouring of mainland and other overseas friends and, people I don’t know personally has really helped us all….especially, the great response to help in so many ways to our neighbor island ‘Ohana with food, water, people from other states flying in to help…it has truly gave me hope that our great nation still has people that care and put issues aside. I was kinda giving up hope the last ten plus years, or so.
I’m taking vacation to go over to volunteer. Hopefully, we will be able to get that once beautiful island back up and growing again. It’ll take some years. And, a lot of healing. But, that island wasn’t given “Maui Nō Ka 'Oi(Maui is the Best)”, for nothing🎼🤙🏾

Over my head is good vibes music in 1976!

This is one of the most beautiful, live songs I’ve ever heard. ❤
Over My Head, Rhiannon, Why & World Turning were filmed in Burbank on 1/26/76 for later broadcast.
Memories of Scarsdale,Ny,April 76..i was 16 ..great song..keep listening
Wow, Lindsay using a pick!
And using a Strat instead of a Les Paul
Christine mcVie was always my favorite!❤
This is thier best song because it's a Cristine song 😍
❤ Christine. ❤ to them all.
Wow. The sound is really good here. Remastered?
Yes. Sounds wonderful too.
Adore this.
I always loved McVie!
"Over My Head"
You can take me to paradise
And then again you can be cold as ice
I'm over my head (over my head)
Oh, but it sure feels nice
You can take me anytime you like
I'll be around if you think you might
Love me baby (over my head)
And hold me tight
Your mood is like a circus wheel
You're changing all the time
Sometimes I can't help but feel
That I'm wasting all of my time
Your mood is like a circus wheel
You're changing all the time
Sometimes I can't help but feel
That I'm wasting all of my time
Think I'm looking on the dark side
But everyday you hurt my pride
I'm over my head (over my head)
Oh, but it sure feels nice
I'm over my head (over my head)
But it sure feels nice
I'm over my head (over my head)
But it sure feels nice
R I P we love you ❤
Absolutely love that girls voice.
Better than the studio version, I always thought was kind of a flat recording. But that track worked for the masses. You can hear Lindsay's guitar licks here much clearer. Nice vocal fills from Stevie. Christine Perfect as always. The usual groove from John and Mick.
Awesome!
Stevie's backgrounds vocals are so underrated
RIP Christine.
Love it
All my favorite Fleetwood Mac songs are Christine songs.
Love him..love the song!!!
I miss Christie Perfect McVie and I have both of her solo albums. I thought that she was the best of Fleetwood Mac. 😊👍
Rare to see Lindsey playing with a pick, no?
Very rare!
He pings several harmonics throughout the song difficult to do without a pick.
@@banditdarval9401 But it is unusual.. I don't think he even uses one even for this song anymore.
They way Lindsay finishes is great. He kinda walks back a lil knowing he just killed it! LOL.
Very nice Harmony Vocals by Stephanie "Stevie" Nicks!
Three lead Singers and the Band is named after the Rhythm section , which is the pulse and back bone
That was their basic formula: Three talented songwriters backed by a rock-solid rhythm section.
@@57highlandkiln House didn’t follow that formula.
@@mikecumbo7531 Kiln House was during the Peter Green period or Bob Welch period, right? (I'm still reading up on FM's long history.)
@@57highland kiln House was post Green but before Welch. It was Jeremy Spencer’s last album with the band.
@@mikecumbo7531 I get it now. Green was departed and Christine McVie was fairly new to the band. Mick, John, Jeremy, Danny and Christine.
Smooth voice❤❤❤❤❤
I think this is the first time I've seen John McVie wearing grown up pants.
"My success is infinite."
You really can have all the success. But only if you eliminate doubt. Doubt is the killer of success, make a decision to arm yourself with the affirmations close at hand when doubt creeps in.

"Failure is my ally."
Any sports Hall of famer will tell you that the only reason they did well so many times is because they also failed more times than anyone else. They just tried more times than their peers. Do more. Do not fear failure, in fact, welcome it and learn from it. Failure is just important as success because we can learn from it and come back stronger and smarter.

Always preferred Christine over Stevie. Her voice is very soothing to me.
can't wait for Why :)
One of the few Midnight Special recordings I find less than adequate. Sound is muddy and flat. Still worth watching because it captures a band in a point in time but the original recording really is so much better.
Christine mcvie wrote th is about lindsey buckingham I was falling in love with lindsey but I knew it would not work out he only had eyes for stevie but it took him long time to get over her but before she passed away she still had those feelings about him and he never knew about it.
Jamie Parker, I was way over my head with you!
💗
Nice to see John dressed up for the occasion..
❤
Remember in war everyone wins ...
It is the way you play the game ...
Fortune cookie; it takes a dream to have a dream though.
It was much better before because it had louder mix of bass or maybe someone tweeked it when it was uploaded on youtube
It's kind of weird and sad knowing Christine is no longer here.
Buck was playing for chris
I think that's the first and only time I've seen Lindsey use a pick? :)
This is the only time I can remember Lindsey Buckingham use a pick.
Lindsey was using a pick? 🤔
I think I love you better you can: not!
Not a huge fan of Fleetwood Mac, but Christie McVie was sensational.
Stevie shud of sat this one out n let Christie take the reigns completely
Buckingham using a pick?
Is it me or is Christine giving some side eye toward John?
Her voice is obviously double tracked. Yet it seems live. I guess they over dubbed it in post. Pity
i'm guessing she's singing along to a recorded track
We have been told it’s all live.
@@themidnightspecialtvshow The performance is definitely live, and at least one of Christine's vocal tracks is
@@themidnightspecialtvshow I have actually seen a version where it’s just Christine’s live vocal. If I were to guess, she might have overdubbed it later (maybe they used this as a promo video for the song and wanted the vocal to sound as good as possible) and later when this was archived, the live vocal and overdubbed vocal were just mixed together for a double-track sound.
@@themidnightspecialtvshow don’t you know what a double tracked vocal is? There’s a bootleg of the performance available without Christine’s double tracked vocal. It was done in post for some reason.
