Thanks for video, bought bike with low miles & no keys, figured be simple, checking wiring, coils & so on, tore old ignition apart sure as hell, plugged in original & got spark back, I'd never would have found this. Thanks again.
I lost the key to my Kawasaki eliminator 125 I took the key harness thing apart I'm maneuvered it to where I could I made it turn dial on it so when I turn the dial the starter turns but I'm not getting sparked to the spark plug after watching your video I'm going to go out and check and see about this resistor reminds me of a resistor and a doorbell anyway I'm very thankful you put the video out there I'm going to go check it out and I'll get back with you I hope thanks again
Man this saved me. Everything worked. Went on a ride and ignition solenoid isn’t flush and stuck in the on position. Any tips to lube it and un stuck it?
I need help on my oem ignition switch my zx600 doesent have the factory one I bought one on Amazon I was wondering where do I put the resistors at in the ignation or can I put a register inbetween each wire?
That is great information ...Thx... I just have the problem with my OEM Ignition which does NOT turn to the ON position, I try to lubricated but i think is not working at all so I ordered an aftermarket ignition and I would like to to avoid to add a 100K resistor but to use the OEM part as you showed on your video ... my question is "What type of bolts are on the bottom cover from the electrical part of the ignition ??? ..... it is also a Torx screw???
I know this is an old post but thank you! Only question is how did you deassemble the oem ignition? It doesn't have screws, just the pins.... Drill them out??

Your welcome.

You will not get spark to the coils due to you need the resistor in your original Ignition.
What did u do

I don't recall it was so long ago it could be a security torx.

If I remember correctly I just cut a slot into the rivet head and used a screw driver to back it out.
Would this also effect the headlights if you put a aftermarket ignition in
Goodday what is the punction of the gray wire . My kz550 coil firring is not stable
6v to cdi
Can do this. But mine had different internals unfortunately so i couldnt do this.
my white wire disconnected so now i need to hold it to fire it up
This is clutch, was wondering if the new ignition would have a resistor
No.
I installed a new ignition and put in a resister and I’m still getting no power to the coils, any thoughts?
Follow the wire to where it goes. Make sure there is not a break. And if not get a service manual.
Would you lose power to the fuel pump too ?
I dont remember.
I believe so. Rpm gauge as well, but it's not working if not running anyway.
Yo what is the ohms rating on that resistor
Yo I don't know.
Will it still turn over ??
When you replace the part it will.
