Happy Easter!!!🐣🪻To celebrate, here’s a wonderful Fantasia subtitled "The Resurrection" by African American composer and organist Eurydice V. Portman (b. 1950). It’s typical American, they really know how to write gorgeous harmonies and grandiose/triumphant music 'over there'!🇺🇸😍Starting off in a mysterious anticipatory mood, it develops into a powerful toccata.🙌🎶 As a matter of fact I couldn’t choose between this and another American Easter piece, so today I’m posting them both!✨The other one is a meditation that caresses the soul, please do check that one out as well: ruclips.net/video/Nki7nzazspQ/видео.html 😸 And as always - don’t forget to click the thumbs-up and subscribe!😃

After the silence and mystery of the morning in front of the empty tomb, it is the Toccata which bursts into cries of joy. Happy easter.

    Dear Henrik! "Hier" Bell.
Listen! I am the Ami in this Union. And. A Swede knows about this piece, gets his hands on the score, and plays the thing?!
While I stand there all baba, left behind in the dust in total ignorance?! What is this world coming to?!
First. Am gonna do just what you did and learn this piece myself. ASAP.
Still. There is only one Nordic Mentality. Only thing I can do is learn from it. As the Germans say:
"Vater werden ist nicht schwer; Vater Sein dagegen sehr"!
Become a Nordic is not that hard; be a Nordic, tho: thick as lard."
Huge thx for this discovery. Let all mortal flesh keep silence. ...till next time ha.

Last year I listened to an Easter recital from Washington National Cathedral (it's still on RUclips), they played this and I was like "I need to play that". There was also a super nice partita by Brenda Portman, I will record that next year, didn't have time to learn it before Easter this year (but I played it in concert two days ago). I've discovered so much American organ music over the last year, nobody plays that stuff over here...!
