I don't know if I'd call them playlist staples, but my top 10 '90s rock tracks I consider underappreciated include the following: "Pepper," the Butthole Surfers; "Universal Heartbeat," Juliana Hatfield; "Dream All Day," The Posies; "I Was Wrong," Social Distortion; "The Trick is to Keep Breathing," Garbage; "Into Your Arms," The Lemonheads' (1993 cover); "Sweet '69," Babes in Toyland; "Bruise Violet," Babes in Toyland; "Down by the Water," P.J. Harvey; "Serve the Servants," Nirvana. S.R., Mo-Mutt Music

Their discography is all over the place- in the best way. New Pop Sunday should've been a huge success. Such a shame they were overlooked by the media and listeners. Dinosaur Jr. has some of the best guitar work out there but I can understand people not liking the vocals. And look at how many female-fronted bands there were! So much amazing music. As piracy effectively defunded the entire music industry down to it's bare minimum (live performance) the 90's was the very last time music was a major player in artistic expression. The 90's were the last time a musician can experiment without financial insecurity. That's why ever since pop hybrids of music genres has emerged as the overwhelming available genre of music.
