Timing was advanced people hes got the one in the camshaft right but on the crank the the little crack to the left has to be where the line is at. It's about a tooth off
The key is not a timing mark. It’s a tiny mark on the crank gear. He needs to turn it a couple teeth clockwise. That’s about where the mark is located on the crank gear to line up with the mark on the block.
Is the crank's alignment mark the same as the 0 dwell mark on the pulley, ie, can they both be used interchangeably to set the crank's angle for the timing belt installation?
Im sorry Im not seeing the mark on the gear, nor on mine. I do see the mark above it on the block but thats all. My struggle is real and I cant find any help around this issue
Ryan Wilson that’s not correct, if you look there is a small v notch on gear. That lines up with the round mark in engine housing. On this video it shows the notch well before the mark on engine case
Richard Pedroza you line the slot on crank with the mark on engine housing then you have to check the alignment mark on the engine with the hole in the camshaft gear. If you cannot see mark through the hole in the camshaft gear then the engine must be rotated another revolution. It’s much easier to do if the timing belt is still on the car and the plastic crank cover is still on. Then you can align the mark on the harmonic balancer with the 0 marked on the plastic cover with the mark aligned through the camshaft gear. There are other videos on RUclips that do a much better job on timing belt installation. Hope this mess I typed helps

Agreed, most other videos show that bit. His doesn't, which might lead to false conclusions.
Thank you that's all I needed. Not a bunch of mumbo jumbo!
Thanks for the upload. Other videos won't go in and show those small marks. I was uncertain of what to look for.
I could not find this mark until I found your video. Excellent camera work!
Man of few words, says a lot.
Please don’t put the crank where he said in the vid. 1 tooth off.
I saw this mark but to me it's like factory now I watch your video thanks 👏 mashallah
Amazing sir, you are amazing
Great video great idea

Thank for help me.
So you line up the key way on the crank with the dot on the oil pump?

Richard Pedroza I will ad this is a non interference engine🎂, so if you screw it up you’ll just have to redo it. No damage done
Yeah I have to do the job all over again thanks to this guy😑😑 timing was like 10 advanced
That works
I love you.
OMG...a useless video with no narrative.
