- Earlier this month, Chester Zoo hosted its own Community Carol Service with The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood.
It was one of 12 community carol services taking place across the UK (and the only one featuring Zoo animals!) thanking those who do so much to support young children and families in communities across the UK.

Just beautiful. It's beginning to look like christmas. The Wales family is like a breath of fresh air and it's lovely to be able to watch the children growing up . Couldn't be more proud of the Royal Family . 👏

Providing experiences they might not normally have . This resonated with me. When i was a child in school, the Canadian province I am from felt the same way. They sponsered events like trips to art galleries, visits to the wildlife park , Christmas plays at the theatre that no child in my impovrished community could have ever hoped to see. Over 40 years later, I still remember the thrill of seeing Dickens Christmas Carol on stage! Another year, our Christmas trip was another theatre where we saw The Nutcracker ballet. Even the boys were captivated!
