Yeah, I understand wanting to "lighten up" the interior, but I'd feel too guilty being the first person to paint over nice woodwork.... if the wood was already painted, then I wouldn't feel bad giving it a fresh coat!
@@wkjeom while I personally liked the wood in the before photos, I see your point. However, it’s not like she had to splish-splosh gallons of white on practically *every* surface.
Honestly, there wasn't much to see besides the white painted walls and the woodwork that was also painted white. I'll never understand why someone who like light and airy would purchase a victorian which usually anything but light and airy.
Thanks Robert! It is a beauty if I do say so myself. And she performs so well. I did a blog post all about the stove - I have the original owner's manual and more. Have a look here if you are so inclined: mysoulfulhome.com/vintage-reliable-stove/ . Thanks for coming by today!
the homeowner is ecstatic and loves doing this home renovation challenge . I love what she has done with the house ....light, elegance, relaxed, easy colours on the eye nice balance. the talking is okay they're both totally happy and enjoying sharing the experience of home renovation. The palette is relaxing and easy to live with . Hi Linda - yes he did see some of what we did and I shared with him many of our plans. Part of the reason he sold the house to us was because he he know & we promised to be good stewards of it for many many years to come. Thank you!
What a lovely video :-). I like it :-). Really nice stuff I must say :-). Plus a lovely tour of your house too :-). I really like all the old fashioned designs inside your house and the old fashioned designs outside your house too :-). Well done :-). You did a really good tour I must say and I think you should be a tour-guide for showing tourists the interior and exterior of your pretty house Kelly :-). I certainly think so as a recommendation :-). Thanks ever so much for sharing this :-). Have a nice evening and take care Kelly :-). All the best :-). From your friend Foxy :-).
Hello there Kelly :-). Thanks ever so much for your kindest compliments :-). I certainly did enjoy your really nice house tour yes and I certainly do recommend you give people tours of your house but on the advisory terms Kelly I would be extremely careful with who you'd give tours to. Because you never know whether or not you're suddenly touring dangerous, murderous assassins who are nothing but keen with assassinations within their planned commitments Kelly so I would really be careful with who you'd do house tours to with your house but of course I've been the one recommending it :-/ :-O :-). But yes have a nice evening and take care Kelly :-). From your friend Foxy :-).
It's just a way to the break ice and all genders bicker and complain about the opposite sex for fun. Don't take life so serious 🙄 It's just people finding things they can both relate to and have a little fun. The owner of the house was overall kind in the way she talked about Dean the previous owner. The host though was very dry though.
Lovely home! Love every detail you have done. I just came upon your channel the other day. I'm enjoying your videos. We collect antiques. The curtain with the lights over your daughter bed where did you get that? I've never seen it with lights.
Hi Jeanine! Welcome to my channel. Thanks very much. The metal piece above the bed is from Antique Farmhouse an on line shop. I added the curtain panels & the tiny fairy lights. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching. You might also enjoy my podcast decoratingtipsandtricks.com
I too love older houses aswell as equally old homes aswell :-). This particular home dearest Sandi is nothing but ideal and enchanting I have to say :-). The one currently owned by the lovely lady Kelly :-). She is of real talent and is an enchanted little lady the lovely Kelly is Sandi I have to say :-). Well certainly speaking of it in my most humble opinion :-). When I saw this video Sandi I was taken by real surprise seeing the heritage house Kelly happily lives in and all the rest of it :-). I hope you are well Sandi and I shall certainly look forward to hearing from you again someday :-). Best wishes :-). Sending hugs and kisses :-D :-). From your new friend Foxy in Brighton, East Sussex, England, UK xoxox :-D :-D :-).
So amazing! I'm quite envious! Whatever you paid for the house, you must have gotten double its value in all of the fabulous items he left with you! Wow!
We were quite fortunate with all that was left behind. I LOVE incorporating what was here even if it is bit o fit like the fence in front. As for the sound & video quality this was a video made at my house, but not by us. It is more for fun so hope you enjoyed it!
Hi - Thanks for coming by! I used Ben Moore "Black" in semigloss on the stairs. Most of the small pieces & outdoor plants were spray painted with Krylon matt black spray paint. Spray paint is magic in a can!
Wow! What a shock. I watch Days of our Lives every day and have practically since as long as I've been married. ALONG TIME! !! I LOVE IT! BUT,anyway thank you for the tour. Your home is lovely. Tfs.😀
Hi Kelly! First time seeing your video and I love love love your house. I'm subscribing now😍Your color palette is like mine and I appreciate you telling us the colors on your walls by name and brand. Do you plan to give us a spring tour? since this is an older video I would love to see how you've evolved. What color was the wall in the bigger bathroom's toilet area? It looked navy but I saw a curtain blocking half the space so I could be wrong. Thank you for the tour I hope you'll do another perhaps just by yourself so we can hear a little better. PS I like the light statue on your stairway and I like that you left it unpainted!
Could you please state the name of the wood you have on the ceiling near the stairway? You thought it may be Everwear, but I have not been able to find anything under that name. It would be great if you are able to do that. You have really inspired me, and I'm sure anyone that sees what you have done with your home. Nothing short of fabulous. Also, I know you said you used BM simply white paint. Is that what is on the stairs? It looks a little different than a regular paint.
I have subscribed to your channel and am thoroughly enjoying all your videos! The simply white paint color is used so beautifully in your home. When you painted the furniture pieces the simply white, are you using a semi gloss, satin or something different on them as opposed to your walls? What type of simply white do you use for baseboards and door trim?
Hi Karen, WELCOME and thank you! I used Simply White in semi gloss for the doors & trim as well as the furniture. I wanted to offset the antique nature of the pieces with a paint finish with a bit of sheen.
I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the bones of the house, and the lovely furniture! The video was most enjoyable after I turned off the sound and could focus solely on the house itself. I'm sure these ladies are very nice, but the house was far more interesting than their chit chat.
you are so so so welcome....what if one day I can actually see it in person...LOL...yes, 'I can dream can't I'....LOL...I will keep dreaming....have a great day...
well...I live in New York...and well...when and if I can get to your area (not sure how to find you?...), I would do it probably through this video...thanks for the invite....wow...I sure appreciate it...:)

I love all the discussion! I want to learn about these places, not just look at pictures or video so this was perfect. Thank you!
You are my kinda girl Jodi! Thank you for watching....
You did a great job on that house!! Love the warm lived in look.
I'd love to see a tour of the exterior of your home and yard. I have a 1894 Queen Anne Victorian that I am trying to revitalize. It's suffered from years of neglect and poor repairs.
Your design aesthetic is spot on and inspires me to keep working and not give up!
This home is absolutely GORGEOUS!!!..I love how they redid everything to make it beautiful and modern but yet kept so many antiquated things like the gorgeous stove and oven in the kitchen to name a few....LOOOOVE IT!💕💕💕💕🙌🙌☺.
You have a beautiful name! Thank you for watching & for your kind comment.
Thank you!💕
Wow! Thanks for taking me visiting with you! Wow!

Awesome Daphne! Thank you for coming by. Glad you found the video helpful. I bet you would love to listen to my podcast, Decorating Tips & Tricks. There are 421 episodes to date and we cover it all. I think it would be very helpful info for the work you are doing at your own. decoratingtipsandtricks.com or find me on any podcast player.
My Soulful Home thanks! I love a good podcast !
Amazing transformation of a home that would have depreciated to ruins! Great job to my fav Soap star Mary Beth for a wonderful & interesting interview!
Thank you SO much! Sadly that is where the house was headed. Delighted to save it - we love this house!
That story about the oven and the star and the correspondence between the lady and the company! Amazing. What a fantastic piece.
I know Sam I really feel honored to have all that detail on the prior history of the stove. Thanks for coming by!
My dream house. Love her style too.
Hi Beverly - thank you so much! I appreciate you taking the time to watch and to leave such a kind comment.
I love the owner. She's awesome. Thank you for filming this and letting us peek inside.
Thank you Mina!
Love beautiful homes! Just love the beauty of them. I think each home is like a person with a personality.
Me too!! Viola thank you for coming by and for joining in the conversation. :)
Great job of the kitchen. You've been very sensitive to the history of the home while still keeping traditional elements. I loved the history of your stove.
I hope you are keeping a journal of the provenance of items that have either come with the house and joined your family at a later date. So important.
Enjoyed the video. Thanks!
Darryl
I really appreciate your comment Darryl. We have taken pains & delight in preserving everything we can from the house while making it a home for our family. And, yes I am keeping a excellent record of it all! Thank you for coming by...

Thanks Shelia! I appreciate your kind wishes.
I knew she looked familiar!! lol!! Your home is lovely and elegant . Thank you for the tour!!
Love your home! Just bought a 1906 Queen Ann so excite to get working on it. Is it possible to tell me what finish you used know Simply white by Benjamin Moore . What finish for your walls and for your wood work. Thank you your video is so inspiring.
Hi Trish! Congratulations!! I am so excited for you. I used egg shell on the walls & semi-gloss on the trim. Hope that helps!
That helps me a lot! TFS
Beautiful restoration! A lot of thought and love have been put into your gorgeous home! Did the gentleman ever get to see it after you made some changes? Maybe photos sent to him? I’m sure he is happy with his decision.
Hi Linda - yes he did see some of what we did and I shared with him many of our plans. Part of the reason he sold the house to us was because he he know & we promised to be good stewards of it for many many years to come. Thank you!
What a gorgeous home and an appreciation for history. Love that stove!
Beautiful home. I love it! It has so much character. She did a Gr8 job renovating that home👍
Thank you so much Elizabeth!
Thanks for sharing the house and the stories that was great.
Hey Debbie - so glad you enjoyed the tour! Have a great weekend.
Fascinating!!
Loved all her stories.
Hey Stacy - glad you enjoyed the tour! Thanks for coming by and watching.
Foxy you are so very kind! Thank you!! So glad you enjoyed the tour. Come on by anytime. :)
Love the tour but you girls talked at the same time and was hard to understand what you said.💕
It's just a way to the break ice and all genders bicker and complain about the opposite sex for fun. Don't take life so serious 🙄
It's just people finding things they can both relate to and have a little fun. The owner of the house was overall kind in the way she talked about Dean the previous owner. The host though was very dry though.
She isn’t a presenter calm down.
Loved it all! The tour & the chit chat. I would LOVE to see more 🥰
Lovely home!
That is a picture rail around the top of the room. Love old homes.
Yes it is - you are correct!
Thanks indeed Kelly :-). I certainly appreciate it :-). Best wishes :-).
From Foxy xx :-D :-).
Thank you for the tour of your house it’s beautiful.
Just lovely. The wood detail on the staircase is to die for, so fancy!
I really did! I've never seen some of the types of beautiful items you have! So great all around!
Love what you did with the house. I noticed you use black on the stairs, can I ask what black paint you use?
Hi - Thanks for coming by! I used Ben Moore "Black" in semigloss on the stairs. Most of the small pieces & outdoor plants were spray painted with Krylon matt black spray paint. Spray paint is magic in a can!
Lovely! thanks for sharing. I really enjoyed it.
Glad you enjoyed it Rosa!
Wow! What a shock. I watch Days of our Lives every day and have practically since as long as I've been married. ALONG TIME! !! I LOVE IT! BUT,anyway thank you for the tour. Your home is lovely. Tfs.😀
What fun seeing "Kayla" here with me!
OMGEEEEEE! Mary Beth, the STOVE!!! Love this house!
Sharon you made me smile from ear to ear! Thank you!! Yup Mary Beth and I must agree the stove is pretty fab!
@@MySoulfulHome I love the whole house!!
@@sharonlatour6230 Thank you a whole bunch!
I got such a good vibe from the home, absolutely love it.
Oh that means so much - thank you!!
Hi Sandy - the plank wood is Evertrue from Lowe's. Simply White throughout - the staircase is semi-gloss. Thank you very much!
Beautiful home but way too much talking
Too much tashing the poor old guy. Sheesh...after all, he WAS 86 years old!! She oughta be more thankful. o_O
I was "this close" to taking an Ativan after listening to their nonstop chatter.
Lovely work and so nice to listen to passionately inspired women talking about what they love 💓 ~ gorgeous .
Thank you Vikki - we certainly did have fun together!
Could you share how you painted your white hutch? Prime , sand?
HI Diane, primed & one coat of simply white in semi-gloss. Hope that helps!
My Soulful Home no sanding?
DAYS OF OUR LIVES STAR ,SHE IS SO BEAUTIFUL, AND THE HOUSE IS GREAT, THANKS FOR THE TOUR
Which one was the days of our live star? They both like they are
I can see why the old man did what he did its hard to see a dream die.
I love a lamp in the Kitchen!
Excellent restoration on this house.
Glad you like it! A lamp in the kitchen makes it so cozy. Thanks for coming by.
Lucky lady! Gorgeous home!
I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the bones of the house, and the lovely furniture! The video was most enjoyable after I turned off the sound and could focus solely on the house itself. I'm sure these ladies are very nice, but the house was far more interesting than their chit chat.
omg...love this house...she, the owner has done a wonderful job in decorating it for sure!!!
Sherry!! Thank you so much!
you are so so so welcome....what if one day I can actually see it in person...LOL...yes, 'I can dream can't I'....LOL...I will keep dreaming....have a great day...
Well Sherry - MaryBeth just knocked on my door one day. She got a tour & a few months later we made this video. Come on over!
well...I live in New York...and well...when and if I can get to your area (not sure how to find you?...), I would do it probably through this video...thanks for the invite....wow...I sure appreciate it...:)
I am from New York Sherry! Next time I am there I am coming to your house! :)
Nice house. My 1872 6000 sq ft Victorian was picked cleaned (I mean in rafters and between floor joices clean) and abandoned for close to 4 years before I bought it and yet you wouldn't what we walked into. It was a perfect historical time capsule with all the modern upgrades and a secret room with enough stuff to pay for the house.
Your home sounds absolutely perfect to me!
First all white Victorian house I’ve seen that feels cozy and warm. Great job.👍
Thank you so much Roz! I really appreciate your comment. White can be warm & welcoming.
@@MySoulfulHome You’re welcome. Yes, it can.
Very polished. Both of you. Cheers.
Love this home! Swooning over that stove!!
Thanks for coming by Julie! I still swoon when I see my stove.
Omgosh! ! That gas stove is beautiful! !!! My brother has one...
So beautiful!!! Thank you for sharing!! 💗
Thanks a lot Cindy!! Thanks for watching ...
Command hooks are great, no holes, no damage!
Indeed Darlene - especially for my plaster walls. I use them whenever I can. Thanks for coming by and watching.
