I used your tip of roasting the rava with the onion etc and adding hot water to it. My upma was simply extraordinary. Perfectly fluffy, soft but not mushy. Rava uppuma may sound very simple, but it is actually quite difficult to get it right with less oil. It requires a technique while *preparing* it.
Once you get it right, there is nothing to beat uppuma with filter coffee at 2:30 in the afternoon.🤗

Achi, I cannot thank you enough here as I tried this just now soon after seeing your video it looked yummy and it was a bit different than how I always used to make and your tips are also great and it came out so well. You are wonderful. Thank you so much. I mostly used Sesame oil and your tip made me do the first basic correction and you are so neat to details required to be observed, and it helps many mistakes one normally makes. All in all I am going to make this more often if it can come this nice. Only one thing I did not add is lemon wondering how it would be, also I have not tried pickles, but will try with that next time. Thanks again.

Ma'am.. whenever I make upma, it's a failure because of water. Water boil panina 2 1/2 cup, 2 1/4 cup ah korainjudume.. indha measurement okay va ma'am???
Enjoyed ur way of explaining.actually upma is the tastiest and the costliest tiffin item,if it is prepared with all the veges,good amt of oil,ghee and cashews .should have it hot hot with sugar,and coconut chutney.its my favorite.👌👌😋

You always have an interesting twist in every recipe. In uppuma adding lemon juice is a new try for me and the side dish in particular. Thank you Revathi Sister.
This is my method too. I do it everytime. Just thought of making a small change to usual one and tried this once to make my husband eat rava upma. He absolutely loves it and we have upma once in a week now. My MIL appreciates me like anything for making him eat everything by adding a different innovation to it. This upma will definitely be a flavorful and favorite one.
