When I was young my mom used to make arisi upma.. and that was out of the world. But I don't know at that time we only have ration rice in our home so mom prepared that. Now a days I'm missing that one...

Very tasty. Congrats. In olden days whenever rice उपमा is prepared we will run to fight for upma kanthal. This had to scrapped from the bottom of the vengala paanai after transferring उपमा to an another vessel which would be very very tasty. Please teach us how to prepare rice upma with upma kandal.
Chef in our house we used to make in vengala panai and uthiri but urs is koshala that's the difference.... It's easy and all time favourite of my childhood.... And especially all our cousins we used to fight for that kandhal which will be very very tasty golden brown...

Sorry bhat, the upma should be dry, yours is semi solid. Best vessel for this receipt is Vengala panai or uruli. Ingredients are ok. But in our families we won't add green chillies and கொத்தமல்லி.

Arisi upma is one of my favourites and combination with vendhiya chutney or vendhiya kholumbu is par excellence. I tried out this recipe and it came out really well.
Enchanting commentary and the recipe just superb makes one sitting with afull stomach rush to kitchen to prepare and eat this then and there! Our hindu dishes and the umpteen and just so umpteen yummy vegetarian varieties make one feel so proud and happy!!
In my entire hostel life I was served with Upma and never ate Upma after that. But I presume not any more.. I will try Tonight..thank you again for making simple dishes into extraordinary things...You (cooking) are part of our life. Thank you .
This is different from our home traditional arisi upma. Let us try. We use coconut oil for cooking. And won't use coriander. That side dish you told is awesome.
