It's simple: Penance Hall (Abbey) has a chance to give you +20% DMG on the next quest your hero embarks on. It stacks! INFINITELY! The negative effects (like -25% Bleed Resist) also stack. Infinitely. Every time you send a hero to the Penance Hall, they have a 9.4% chance to get the +20% DMG buff and a 4.7% chance to get the -25% Bleed Resist. To get to +380% DMG, ThickVeiny probably had put the Antiquarian through the Penance Hall ~150 times. EDIT: (1/.094)*(380/20) ≈ 202 times. This means one of three things: either the wiki is wrong about the frequency of +20% DMG proccing, ThickVeiny exaggerated a little bit when they put 400 in the description, or ThickVeiny got really poor odds.

Teams usually have 4 people. This Hero is the weakest in terms of combat, but she can stack Dodge buffs for support. Thick is just Dodge Tanking the shit out of the final boss with 1 character
@Nathan Hewitt Dunno about that. He's got no good way to boost dodge so Phase 1 can easily chew him up. Maybe with Barrstians + Ances. Ring + Hard Skinned to try and tank the hits but then stress could be the run killer if you dont get a virtue.
Also he can do the same with stupid amount of penance hall damage buffs and simply stab the heart to death. Plus he can actually heal himself for a considerable amount unlike antiquarian

its the penance hall town buff, every time someone gets put in the penance hall they have a chance to gain an increase in damage. It’s also stackable, so he spent hundreds of weeks until he got 380% extra damage. Funnily enough, it’s only minimum damage that’s boosted.
Mad late but, this is just because A: TVS farmed the Penance Hall's damage buff roll from using it every single Week for like 400 in game weeks, and B: said damage buff roll is bugged. Min damage boosts and max damage boosts are separate and due to an oversight the Penance Hall only increases the minimum damage. Here, crits deal less than the baseline damage for the same reason that they'd always deal more the other 99.99% of instances, that being because they're hardcoded to deal x1.5 your normal maximum damage.
