I think tidy up meister is also a very important mod. It basically makes your character replace the items and equipment after you're done with it. IE: re-equip your weapons after you finish disassembling a door or putting the book back in the bookshelf when you finish reading it.
I find it really useful, but absolutely infuriating at the same time, if you queue up actions even remotely... wrong? It'll spend the same amount of time you've just used picking up items, to put them all away again - being a pain in the arse and meaning you end up losing / leaving stuff behind constantly! Apart from that, yeah it's excellent. xD haha
A great mod I have is like "more vanilla spawns" or something, which allows me to spawn in any of the cities or towns. Which allows me to spawn in one city, and my co-op partner in a place equally far away to my spawn that would be roughly the same distance between our houses irl so we can see if we could meet up and how fast it would take.
This seems like a wonderful game mode idea for friends! Have it start with very few zombies at first, like day 0 of the outbreak but you guys are in different cities. Seeing if you can gather enough supplies in time, and set the population multiplayer to like 7 days peak at "2.0" so that now the zombies are ramping up rapidly by the day.
Best mod review I have ever watched. Rather than feeling like a showcase or an advertisement, it feels like my bro in discord telling me the mods he likes. Much much better.
I never understand zomboid’s loot system: you get in a house where people suppose to live, but there is only one shirt, abandoned soup on stove, half of banana in the freezer and one book for cooking vol.4. We can say that people pack their stuff and move, but there is a broken car in garage, so there is one dude or whole family running around with bags full of food, clothes, books and other stuff that don’t suppose to even fit in the car because of how many stuff there is (and how much it weight) I think having maxed loot settings is more immersive and realistic. Dudes who have only 1 spare shirt in locker and half of banana in da freezer - you cool and can play on any loot setting you want
well i think it depicts the house having already been raided by other survivors. if you go in the custom sandbox settings and set it to day one the loot will be higher
yeah its def more realistic to have more loot filled houses. Problem is it makes the game super easy. Each house being able to sustain you for weeks, and all you need to find is one of every specialty building for it to have everything you would ever need.
In my case i only play on +4~6 months later (or some 10 years later) and in this scenario you expect that many houses has been already raided. I think it's more fun and rewarding when you find non perishable food while starving (it's very hard to starve when every house has a bunch of canned food).
Same with the ammo quantities. I'm hardly an enthusiast but even I have ~3,000 rounds of .22LR because it's so cheap that you tend to buy it in "bricks" of 250-1,000rds
You're right, you should be able to enter a single home and find everything you could ever possibly want with no effort. That way you could be done with the game and stop playing sooner.
I wanted to comment and just leave you my thanks. Typically my version of Zomboid is bever running less than about 300 mods, so finding videos that cover large amounts of mods like this one is rare, but you've done such a good job in compiling and testing it all! Cant wait for the next one! Keep up the fantastic work! BB
Another mod I like is the Antibodies mod as it makes the infection just cripple you for a handful of days as a hidden antibody count runs up and once its high enough it reduces the infection % and just about everything have a impact on antibody growth with everything being completely customizable and it helps me get through the first 2 weeks when my weapons are pots and pans and personally makes me feel like i can play for more than 4 hours in one sitting with out feeling like im so tired im prone to making a mistake and losing the character ive spent so long
0:47 The main purpose of this mod is to enable torches to have enough fuel to disassemble wrecked cars. They used to have 100 units, and it takes more than 10 units to disassemble a car.
My personal list of gems: The biggest one on my list that I won’t play without: Manage Containers : This gem is a godsend and SHOULD be vanilla, it lets you right click containers, and assign what loot can go in at the click of a button, based on category, this goes hand in hand with the better sorting mod that gives items more categories. Right click, assign container, then ctrl-click all the categories you want, such as Non-perishables and Junk; then you can advanced edit it to also include specific items such as say, you also want all your frying pans to go in there, boom, when you hold shift and click transfer-all near that container, all the Non-perishables and junk + frying pans will go in there, and nothing else. It’s an organization lovers best friend. Entertain Yourself - The biggest hit on this one is mags are re-readable, they become “old mags” and reduce the value, but don’t just disappear. Adds in the ability to play the flute, banjo, and more. Snake’s Mod Pack - but only taking LeGourmet (and it's parent mod that mod manager will auto-activate regardless, can't remember what it's called) out of all that it offers, then getting Kitsune’s crossbow mod, Way of the Bow, and some compatibility patches (Smoker+ LeGourmet/Brita’s weapons + Legourmet/Crossbow & Bow hunting LeGourmet) to enable a whole slew of new foods, farming, fishing and HUNTING in the forests. Excellent mod for Nomads. Syncing Vehicle Animations - Does as described, and you’ll be surprised how nice it is to ‘see’ that your friend left their door open, in MP, rather than it not syncing. This goes great with the mod that replaces all vanilla cars with animated doors/trunks/hoods, and any additional mod that adds new cars with animations, now your whole zomboid driving experience is animated. Time to Cook & Generator Time Remaining - Two mods that really belong together. Tells you the amount of time left before the food is done, and the amount of time left before your generator runs out of fuel. Food Expiration Date and Bar - This shows more layers to food spoilages so you can better guess when it’s going to go bad, or if you take the trait, you can see exactly when something will go stale and when it’ll rot at a glance. (Doesn’t adjust for freezer time, but you can do the math if on normal it’s 25x longer I think) Sleep with Friends - Lets you sleep in MP, without waiting for other people. Excellent imo. Pumps have Propone - as described, instead of just having longer-lasting torches, make plans to return to a working pump to refill your propane. Lockpicking (reupload) - Lockpick doors, instead of ripping them down. Has a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it and practice on easy locks awhile, it’s great imo. Blowtorch Gates! (works on all ver) - Is a mod that does as described, instead of needing a sledgehammer to get into barred off buildings, bring a blowtorch and get to work. I could go on, but these are my top ten. (belated one more because my god why did I forget this) Alternative Inventory Rendering - absolutely amazing mod. Less FPS loss with many items in container (like trunk, GeneralContainers. etc..) 1300 Capacity Trunk, 60FPS. (No Pause) as the description says, Adjusted brightness, check if the weapon has attachments via a icon that appears without even hovering over it, it also tracks what media / books your character has seen, so you can tell at a glance if you've used that book before and in so doing, typically keep track of what books you have at home so long as you always take the ones you read back with you.
thanks rick, i did a couple runs with vanilla so i feel ready to look at mods now like i usually do with games. this is very helpful, i had no idea where to start
5:20 the unarmed attacks do seems a bit too strong. I was playing a 7 strength build and my unarmed attacks were doing around 20 dmg per hit (regular zombie health is 150) with much longer range than you’d expect. It was hitting zombies that weren’t highlighted, or the zombies behind highlighted zombies
tbh the most comprehensive, trustworthy, simple guide for people that are building mod lists. Insight on gun mods and tons of vehicle mods definitely help figuring out why the mod list numbers are always so high. the categorization also is a cherry on top. TY!
Along with the vehicle light chimes, there's a mod that chimes when you leave a trunk/hood/door open as well. I made that one a must have after accidentally leaving my car door open and getting bit by a sprinter lol
I have started using KI5's car mods, and I don't think I can ever use vanilla cars again. Not only are the cars animated, meaning when your trunk is open, you see it visually open. When your hood is open, the car model has it's hood up. When your doors are open you see them hanging out with your character inside the car. But on top of all that, you can make and find armor pieces to give your cars the zombie-wasteland car look, you can put hood and bumper guards on, you can add extra armor to the windows, windshields and doors, and some cars you can even put roof racks on. (That have their own storage space.)
Made a comment on another video wondering on the modlist you use for your videos, and this video basically answers the vast majority of questions I had. Thanks for compiling this.
i think a big thing to consider with the advanced trajectory mod isn't that it "makes guns overpowered" it's that it completely flips it from basically only shotguns being worthwhile for the most part, to shotguns only being good at super close range (making them kinda worthless for horde clearing), and literally any other gun usable. the feeling of it being "overpowered" is just a side affect of suddenly having WAY more options of firearms that are viable now. and also, it's a gun. it should be overpowered. cause it's a god damn gun lmao.
Here's two other fun challenge mods I can suggest, I've only used them separate, possibly could work together, but might make it extremely difficult or make no difference at all. - The Scent of Blood (Makes zombies smell blood, works similar to sound) - Please Don't Feed The Zombies (Makes zombies smell corpses, similar to sound) - Tripping Zombies (Works great for sprinter runs, could be considered QoL)
I used to use don't feed the zombies but it gave me massive lag. I have upgraded my pc since then so we'll see. I might try scent of blood, I've known about it for ages, but since danger moodles is stupidly unfair, I might try it to emulate some kind of punishment for getting wounded
How can people play without "Plain Moodles" is beyond me. It basically makes the moddles more linear across the board so that you don't have to wonder what level of each moodle is, by adding a "progress bar" to the side of each moodle, separated in the 4 moodle levels that are available for almost every moodle
Just FYI Scrap Weapons, and possibly the other scrap mods, are responsible for making the game stutter whenever you hit a zombie, especially when near other players. Many mods add a little stutter to tile transitions etc, but this was severe. Same with Brita's armour I believe. I have heard it is caused by blood splashing on the modded clothes when zombies are hit, which would make sense considering it gets worse the more players are nearby.
Seeing mod videos like these that help to 1. fix the issues in the game and 2. add interesting and more variation without being just an op mod are what are going to help me get back into PZ. Thank you Rick, I hope you do more of these.
I had no idea about the ripped sheets fix, i tried looking for one on the workshop but couldn’t find it until now thank you, you have saved my Zomboid experience
By far the most broken part of advanced trajectories is the ability to shoot any direction out of a vehicle, meaning I can drive my mclaren f1 into the middle of a horde of zombies and mow them down with an m16 to create a circle of death. Alternatively you could also combine this tactic with chucking a Molotov and parking with the driver side against another vehicle, a tactic I recently used against the mall in Valley Station to great success.
Yeah, sometimes, it's up to the sandbox player to limit himself. I set higher criteria for access to certain abilities like building wells, for example.

9:29 Should've said Filibuster Rhymes' Used Cars! instead, it's a single mod that adds a TON of new vehicles to the game that conform to the art style!
Universal Gun Repair is a great alternative to Coavins Firearm Repair. It isn't as detailed but as the name suggests it works for all guns, including modded ones.
Nice list. I'd add Raven Creek, tho I noticed you didn't mention maps, and I like amateur Electrician. Just starts you with a level of elec. with an XP boost
This is my second comment for this. I LOVE people using rimworld music for this game. Rimworld is not the same type of game but it has the same survival instinct and ability to adapt vibes. Both game are worth getting into if you crave that hurt me till I learn style lol
I have found some amazing mods that i never would have thought to have looked for by joining servers that have a mod list to download, goes for alot of game's, DayZ, 7 Days etc.

You should do some mapping tutorials. there aren't enough out here and its really tough to get started!
I don't recommend it lol
But if you are interested there's a mapping and modding discord
The RimWorld music in the background made the video extra special.
Nice list. I'd add Raven Creek, tho I noticed you didn't mention maps, and I like amateur Electrician. Just starts you with a level of elec. with an XP boost
Not gonna lie that's a well thought out list that I'd probably recommend most new players to start with.
this is just how i play the game normally, unironically
worse vehicle condition is actually pointless unless its 10 years later
im nabbing a lot of these QoL mods as you list them off. thanks bro.
As someone who cannot help but download every new mod, thanks.
Are women real
idk never seen one
no (i am an abhorrent creature of unknown cosmic origin)
That's a question for another video
No
Studies are inconclusive
Those are rookie numbers. We got to bump those numbers up!
i like mods. i hate errors and lag. there is a fine balance you must find.
Was just looking for some good mods for a multiplayer session. Awesome suggestions!
You could probably make a collection on steam if that helps?
This is my second comment for this. I LOVE people using rimworld music for this game. Rimworld is not the same type of game but it has the same survival instinct and ability to adapt vibes. Both game are worth getting into if you crave that hurt me till I learn style lol
Damn. Wish I woulda seen this video before I downloaded my 500 mods. Lol
Great vid man.
fuel side indicator is really useless, all cars have fuel side on driver side
That’s implying you don’t have 20+ vehicle mods😂
love the terarria music in background good memories
I like how you are using a game's music that is made up of 99% mods for a mod showcase.
thanks for the suggestions good sir!
...i thought somehow terraria opened up at 4:00....then realized it was you o.o
The Rimworld music made me feel like I was watching the wrong video
The Rimworld music really threw me for a second
I downloaded 512 mods so no one else has to
I have found some amazing mods that i never would have thought to have looked for by joining servers that have a mod list to download, goes for alot of game's, DayZ, 7 Days etc.
Aww Rimworld music
the rimworld music seriously confusing me about what game i’m listening to about mods 😂
I was literally expecting 400 mods lol
I just more than doubled my mod list, thanks Rick!
Bro you got the debug version.. making you GOD.
