Well, the lore video is out now. I think I'm gonna put this on hold, it never really turned out like I thought it would. I'll have to adapt it to something like night sprinters. The hunt at night function should still work, but it's gonna be without fear the sun sadly. Well, we could use fear the sun, is it worth the daytime jank? They wouldn't be a threat if they didn't sprint during the day. discord: discord.gg/MXwg8fFkPa patreon: patreon.com/Ricksdetrix
What ever happened to just doing a challenge video that isn't narrative driven, like your rooftops series. You you're gonna become like the rest of the pz youtubers.
From the creator of 100 days on Louisville Rooftops, I couldnt expect less. You along with Arean and AmbiguousAmphibian are one of the best PZ content creators. It is sure fun to watch your series along with my brother that recently started PZ himself. Who knows, might do a scenario with him one day
@@arandomcommenter412 I remember really liking his Prisoner run video, so if you want a recommend for one video they did that's definitely one. Gonna have to watch the rest of their stuff myself.
I love the idea of using a game like this to tell a narrative. I have thought about doing something similar with a modded escape from tarkov or stalker
@@mavxtk escape from tarkov is a hard-core military shooter set in a fictional war torn Eastern European c country. Its online but you can get a single player mod for it and then you can mod it in other ways to make it great for emergent narrative. Stalker is an old game at this point. Set in pripyat Ukraine this one is more supernatural with mutants and psychic powers. Again very open ended with a lot of opportunity for emergent narrative
i am in love with the fact you can just forget all the technical game knowledge and play the game without going like "but mechanically this would work even if its unrealistic" aswell as act dumb knowing that there are better options but for the sake of story you chose different and sometimes worse paths
I love this, your voice, the gameplay. I love how I can close my eyes and still know exactly what's going on, I also love the "found footage" or, "found journal" type of medium you got there.
Absolutely LOVED the story telling focus of this! It legit had me on the edge of my seat, especially that frantic drive back! Can't wait for the next part man!
Imo the worst thing about Fear the Sun right now is the way you can shoot the sleeping zeds with a gun and it doesn't trigger their friends to wake up. It strikes me as an oversight. Like if you hit them or push them it typically wakes the others up. It makes no sense that an ear-bleeding gunshot wouldn't wake them. For the sake of the storytelling, I kind of wish you hadn't started shooting them inside lol
In testing it was much more stable than it is now, but also in the book the vampires are comatose during the day, neville just goes round stabbing them. It's a shame there isn't sandbox options to make them wake up more or less, but it's terrifying when they do all wake up when you hit one Im hoping in the future, when I'm actually keeping zombies out of my home, it's not gonna be as glaring an issue. I think things will slow down and become more routine which was the initial idea anyway.
@@Ricksdetrix Oh interesting! I've not read the book. What kind of things wake them up in the book? But yeah I've had mixed results with the mod. My biggest problem with it right now is how slow the zeds are to get inside, and how many end up chasing you around outside. I think only the zeds in your chunk are given the "order" to get inside. It'd also be nice if zeds that chase you in the day get a reminder mid-chase to prefer getting inside than chasing you. It might be an idea to get rid of that barricaded world mod, as it'll only slow them down further when it comes to getting inside
never stop this type of content it is absolutely amazing and relaxing for me. made my evening so much better just listening and watching your story play out. thank you.
Great video and really did enjoy the story telling, it scratched the itch that 'Ambphibious' and his character 'Gerald Williams' started a while ago. I genuinely would love to see an entire series like this.
Hello! This kind of video you make are the best (in my simple and honest opinion). I follow you since "rooftops" and even buyed this game and played a couple hours. I actually enjoy playing with low zombie amounts that actually feel like the actual number of people that lived in the cities, of course it's easier but you can always buff the zeds
Ayo I just watched your 100 days of Louisville rooftops. To see the extent that your content goes is great! You remind me of Mathis doing his RP series playthrough of this from years ago. You got heart! Don't stop!
YES!! THIS IS IT!! I was already kind of playing by making the zombies more I am Legend vampire like, made their distance from the horde leader size small so they stand very close together, being reminded of the scene from the movie version. The fear sunlight mod is exactly what I needed next to achieve exactly what I was aiming for. Awesome vid. Subbed. I can't get enough zomboid challenges, need an IV straight of them 😩❤️
This was a great story. I especially enjoyed how frantic you sounded some of the other RUclipsrs I’ve seen do something like this seem so monotone but you actually sound like your in that situation.
This looked like it took a ton of work to put together. I've done some video editing in the past, so I feel sleepy on your behalf just thinking about it. Appreciate ya, Rick. Loved the episode.
As an ol' Gen Xer, in my day there was something called an audio play which grew from radio plays. Your storytelling is top notch! 👏🏻👏🏻 I was mostly listening while watering the garden and I think you should perhaps start a podcast of these "stories". Sometimes a game of PZ in the hands of the right person is a great audiobook. All your plays and YT styles are very entertaining (except when you drunkenly sing 😂). Keep up the great work 👍🏻
I haven't finished watching yet but I really appreciate the track names being listed (I asked for song names in a previous vid)! Maybe the description is a better and more immersive place tho :D

I would love to see someone make this into a full mod. Make zombies sleep during the day, become ravenous at night. The player could be immune but the goal would be to find their weaknesses and set up traps like garlic bundles. They would need to use wooden steaks to kill the zombies/vampires or just a big enough bladed weapon. Could also go down the vaccine route if you wanted to be totally book accurate.
