What fun that class was, looking fwd to doing it again next year, then the advanced class after that. I'd like to do the ice thing too but then I'd like another $10-$20M in the bank too so...:) Awesome work on your filming/editing. I spend a bit of time in front of the camera and have watched enough to see the talent it takes to take useful shots and edit them to make the clown in front of the lens looks good..:) Have fun with your car and I hope to be doing the same next year!!

Thank you! Ah yes the Augmented reality should of been standard on all CLA45s models but during the big semiconductor shortage at its peak Mercedes pulled Augmented sat nav from every single model. The demo car I had before I got my CLA45s had it but it was removed just before mine got built so mine does not have it too. It’s very cool technology but it’s not as helpful as I had expected when I tested it, I wish I had it though! It might be possible to retro fit, il try find out and do it if you can, that would make a good video! The car is missing a camera that would normally be mounted on the centre mirror, it actually records from the inside of the car. It’s a shame because If our cars had the little augmented reality camera we would get another nice feature too. When you come to a stop at some traffic lights the camera comes on the screen so you can easily see the lights if your too close so you don’t have to hurt your neck looking up. I could easily make good use of that one with some of the light positions on my daily commute!
I agree, I’ve always wondered why manufacturers don’t include stronger security systems. The newer Mercs with the fingerprint scanner for example. This would be great but you can’t set it up to be required to start the car. It’s only used to login to Mercedes me for your settings.
Soon after the vid's opening i can tell Mercs replaced wheel BUTTONS with troublesome capacitive ones across the model lines. Watching Merc vids these few days and reviewers complain.
I had one for a week with the touch buttons and hated them at first. Eventually I got used to them and they were ok to be honest but I prefer the older non touch ones. It’s so much nicer to have physical buttons while driving.
@@ABAUTOAMG Only thing you left with is accustomizing as Benz gives no real option. A Tesla Plaid owner hates them too. Current Audi S4's a mix touch with buttons.
Hey, All good so far. Car will be going in for its second service and full check in October so il keep everyone updated but overall I’ve had no issues.

I have plans in getting the 2023 model (without the trackpad) but the only thing holding me back is from hearing horror stories of people receiving their brand new cla 45s and driving less than 2k miles where their engine needs a replacement due to coolant issues.
@aesthetics6664 No probs, 2023 model is great. Really nice upgrades on the mbux system. I would try not to worry. If there were any common issues they would of changed something on the engine on the facelift. I think it’s incredibly bad luck and your only going to hear about the bad online and not so much the good. Just make sure to take the car to run the engine in the first 1000 miles. There will be a sticker in the top corner of the window explaining exactly how to run the engine in properly. The only niggle I had was a top up coolant message after 11 months which turned out to be very common and not a problem at all. It’s never come back since the service/minor top up. It was never really very low just a very sensitive sensor which is a good thing :)
@@ABAUTOAMG Appreciate your insights on the 2023 model! The upgrades to the mbux system sound fantastic. Your advice about not fretting over common issues makes sense, positive experiences might not get as much online attention. Thanks for the tip on the engine break-in process, I'll make sure to follow the instructions for the first 1000 miles. Your experience with the minor coolant message issue shows that sometimes it's just a sensitivity thing, which is reassuring. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and they're really helpful for someone like me considering the car. Looking forward to more of your content on your AMG!
Hey, that’s a tricky one. The new C43 is looking really good but I absolutely love my CLA45. I think the C43 will be more refined but not as sporty and aggressive as the drive in the CLA45.

Hey Jesper, I think I would take the C43 over the 35 although both great cars. I would take the 45s over the 43 though if so-able. If you do go for the C43 make sure it has the optional AMG performance exhaust. It makes a big difference! :)
One thing I have found recently is when driving my CLA 45s on a very wet motorway, the braking performance can be much reduced and has given me one or two heart stopping moments. Also the rear brakes (when wet) seem to seize up sometimes the next morning after having been parked overnight. Have you experienced any of this?
Hi George, I’ve found the brakes on mine to be really impressive. On my track day vid we did some good brake tests and it stopped unbelievably quick. I think because the car has such incredible traction in the wet and is so fast it can sometimes take you by surprise when stopping in the rain. Stopping always takes longer in the wet and it’s so easy to go fast without realising in this car. Tyres also make a huge difference. Mine are noticeably less grippy now after some wear. We’ve had nothing but rain here for weeks so I have experienced some brake seizes in the morning after being parked for a long time. If I feel this I just brake a few times as I leave my driveway and it soon frees up before I’m on any fast roads. All my AMGs with bigger brakes have had this so I think it’s normal. Hope this all helps!
@@ABAUTOAMG Yes, that’s my experience after being parked up overnight, you need to gently apply the brakes as you drive off, which are fine thereafter. I think it’s just the steel discs rusting up, which no doubt is fairly normal.
Hey, unfortunately the 45s model is not available in all countries at the moment. In the US for example they old sell the 45. The non S is still a great car though.

How is the ride quality of the car? Normally having family in a Sports Car tends to have a uncomfortable ride and makes passengers car sick.

I have the 18 however I can’t get past the new body style looks to much like a Jetta so as of now the next car won’t a CLA anything!
Would you recommend just pulling the trigger on the CLA45 or wait for the 2023 C43 AMG?
Hey, that’s a tricky one. The new C43 is looking really good but I absolutely love my CLA45. I think the C43 will be more refined but not as sporty and aggressive as the drive in the CLA45.
I’m in the marked looking to buy a used AMG. Which will you have chosen: 2018 C43 or 2020 CLA35

Hey Jesper, I think I would take the C43 over the 35 although both great cars. I would take the 45s over the 43 though if so-able. If you do go for the C43 make sure it has the optional AMG performance exhaust. It makes a big difference! :)

Just wondering if cla45s have issues with cylinder head that plague a35/cla35. This made me worry to own one.
The M139 engine is still fairly new so time will tell. I’ve had no problems with my engine so far but If I do il be sure to report it to you all.

One thing I have found recently is when driving my CLA 45s on a very wet motorway, the braking performance can be much reduced and has given me one or two heart stopping moments. Also the rear brakes (when wet) seem to seize up sometimes the next morning after having been parked overnight. Have you experienced any of this?
Hi George, I’ve found the brakes on mine to be really impressive. On my track day vid we did some good brake tests and it stopped unbelievably quick. I think because the car has such incredible traction in the wet and is so fast it can sometimes take you by surprise when stopping in the rain. Stopping always takes longer in the wet and it’s so easy to go fast without realising in this car. Tyres also make a huge difference. Mine are noticeably less grippy now after some wear. We’ve had nothing but rain here for weeks so I have experienced some brake seizes in the morning after being parked for a long time. If I feel this I just brake a few times as I leave my driveway and it soon frees up before I’m on any fast roads. All my AMGs with bigger brakes have had this so I think it’s normal. Hope this all helps!
@@ABAUTOAMG Yes, that’s my experience after being parked up overnight, you need to gently apply the brakes as you drive off, which are fine thereafter. I think it’s just the steel discs rusting up, which no doubt is fairly normal.

Hey, unfortunately the 45s model is not available in all countries at the moment. In the US for example they old sell the 45. The non S is still a great car though.

The s has an extra 33 horsepower and a few visual extra. The standard 45 is still a great car.
