@minnesotabongo Thank you. My Prelude arrangement is in the same key as Parkening's, a good friend. I revised the entire piano score, followed note by note, adding essential basses for the bass lines. The most important work was the fingering that made possible the Prelude to be played at that speed and bring out the phrases clearly. It was a lot of work. Two versions of a wonderful piece.
I will eventually publish. I will let you know in the channel, all right?. To me this transcription I did was very adventurous because I had to change so many things in terms of fingering in order to be able to make it playable that hasn't been stopped since I started working on it. I can say it has been very good source of knowledge for me in all this process. Thanks for appreciating it. Virginia Luque
This astonishing piece is what brought me to your music. Only you and Parkening have done justice to this beautiful and extraordinarily difficult piece. Bravo!
I always liked this piece. A friend of mine use to play it for me.Every time i asked him to play it,he took a deep breath. I could tell its a demanding piece.
Increíble ver como mantienes el equilibrio tensión relax en una pieza que requiere un alto nivel en técnica y una explosión de energía constante. Fabulosa!!
I love this performance. The work of transcribing this must have been intensely satisfying. The performance captures the energy and scope of the work beautifully, as well as preserving the driving rhythm. Bravo.
Most excellent, meaning as well the musical performance as also (of course) the incredible way you shaped the applicatura of the left hand. I would have thought it impossible to sustain this stretching and ultra-rapid positioning throughout the whole prelude, but ... You Did It ! Bravo !!!
hi..well attempted with ur hard & sincere efforts to have transcribed for the cl guitar Is more than worth..hearty congrats for this mind squeezing & time consuming job..appreciate ur generous mind to share such rare guitar arrangements of much popular pieces.. please keep it up..warm regards..siva..india..(guitsiva)..
I cant understand why you dont put more of your videos os youtube. There are many guitarist in the world that need to listen to your playing, even if they dont know it yet. Please!
Very impressive piece of work both in terms of transcription and performance. Keyboard transcriptions are as a rule difficult for guitar and similar instruments as far as I know. Besides, you may get passages where piano has arpeggios and it may happen for fingering possible, that one phrase may split into these 2, to be performed uniformely in terms of sound. Thanks for sharing this.
@minnesotabongo Your hard work paid paid dividends. If I'm not mistaken, didn't maestro Parkening say that it's the toughest 2 pages in classical guitar literature?I find that Chopin and Mozart are the hardest to transcibe and be faithful to the original. But I get the most satisfaction working on J.S. Bach, as if the LORD's hand is resting on my shoulder. GOD bless you.
It was a professional dvd recorded with two professional cameras taking different angles. I am not aware of details in terms of equipment. Sorry Thanks for your comment.
having just discovered you playing leyenda I m onto your second video. I dont mean to be rude but I had never seen or heard of you before. Oh thanks be to God for youtube because now when ever I need extra special inspiration i can just watch you play. This is a beautiful video and filmed very tastefully. Just perfect for classical guitar. If you are touring the UK I must get to see you as you are a major talent. Yet again your playing is fabulous beyond words. excellent.
for the life of me i ca see no difference between your transcription and parkening's fro 30+ years ago i think your playing of chopin's waltz in c#mi is quite eye openiing, the best i've heard other than gentil montana thanks
