Not the most exciting stage on TV perhaps, but was very nice to have the TdF visiting in our region! So many enthusiastic people. I grew up in the house almost next to the intermediate sprint, maybe shouldnt have moved :)

@@nils2118 I dont know, I only saw it live :) But looked like a typical sprint race where the last 10k are the most interesting. Glad you liked it though.

It was a great finish, the favorites were left off of the podium, there’s more parity in women’s cycling!

Why are these first routes so strange? Short, flat, almost loops... I'm new to cycling in general this seems a lot different from the men's tdf

Actually, this is also traditional for the men's TdF. Only the last two years have been exceptions for the men with hilly first stages. Usually the first day is a bunch sprint.

Please, please, please. Do you have to say 'avec Swift' every freaking time? It gets really annoying.

Epic? It was the /worst/ race stage I've ever seen (on video). A very big peloton--too big for the roads in several places, a slow pace, what looked like a pretty meh/lousy, flat route--and, worst of all, NO RACING! There was no breakaway on the stage---none, zero, that I saw. I have never seen a pro race--much less one in what is supposed to be a premier event--with no breakaway. Actually, one rider tried a modest break, spent a short time upwards of 50 seconds or so ahead before being brought back--and THAT WAS IT. Nobody took her seriously. With 10/15K to go, there was still no racing; we saw the oversize peleton still going along at Monday stroll pace. Literally, the only action all day came with the sprint with 1K to go--and even that seemed mucked up by all riders.
