Morgan Robertson predicted this with his book The Wreck of the Titan: Or, Futility. in 1898.
Actually, when asked about how he predicted that the Titanic would sink the exact same way as described in his book, he denied having any prophetic or clairvoyant abilities and said many of the most striking details were the product of his own detailed understanding of the shipping industry - his father was a captain on the Great Lakes, and he himself had been a mariner for 11 years (1877-86) before becoming a writer.

I feel like while the larger story is very similar to titanic, there were some differences. For example l, the titan sank in 5 minutes and only 12 people survive, while on titanic, 605 people survived. There was more than an 86 foot difference. The titan had no flammable cargo and was designed for passengers only, while the titanic carried royal mail. The titan sank on her third voyage, while titanic sank on her first.

@@terminator6552 for some reason, I think that Fabrizio was pushed down by the funnel and then crushed between said funnel and the navigational bridge. in the process, crushing the bridge and Fabrizio.

@@lukethomas.125 More than 1/3 of her length was opened to the sea. I don't think any ship could survive that.
@@1940limited She was designed to survive with up to 4 compartments completely flooded. But the iceberg damaged 5 compartments and marginaly a sixth compartment. With that sort of damage, the Titanic was inevitably going to sink.

I just realized something. In various shots, the water seemed to be coming in from the starboard side, but when you see the ship as a whole outside, it’s leaning to port. Explain this please?

as i might think.. its because the scotland road is flooding.. maybe..well. it is.. but.. who knows.. i might think thats why titanic was leaning to port.
I whant to present my hypothesis regarding the Titanic sinking and its higher possibility of maintaining and floating it on the waterline for a longer period of time.
From my point of view, on the spot place of the collison probably it was made a breach or a larger bend and flection but for the rest of other naval’s compartiments were followed only a moving away of the plates followed due to the entire action of the assembly of forces and the penetration of the ice, which acted as much more al feather shearing or ripping the rivets and allowing the water to penetrate through the ship.
For example, an average distance of only one centimeter on 90 meters lenght, as it was suppose that the hull of the ship was damaged,it would mean a hole of 0.9 m2.
According to the drawing below, the inner plate B was pushed in, and at the force’s assembly action on the verdge of the A plate it pushed the plate A upward, the ice penetrated as a wedge. Thus the ship was going on, the ice was penetrating like a feather continued ripping / ripping, ripping off the plates departing the plate on their lenghts from the next compartments without any significant damage to them.
This phenomenon was further favored by the fact that, with the removal of the plates, the base of support of the plate A on the ice it increased, the plates being separated and departed one from another, the ice was pressing onto the plate B, this could not be crumbled, causing an increased pushing force toward plate A.
Regarding the idea of the possibility of the ship floating for longer, I have the following opinion:
- if the watertight doors are closed only for the first four compartments with which the ship could float, it remained horizontal and the fifth compartiment could allowed the water to be drained and shared to the other 11 compartments, all the pumps in these compartments plus those in the affected compartment five would face the water, so that people could work in compartment five to reduce the flood;
- Thus, the water level would not be increased to a level that could have affected the coal supply of the rest of the boilers, the vessel would remain functional or (at worst) would have been floating for longer.
