If you wanna try the Combustable Gearhulk combo into flipping Ghalta/Razaketh, you should try Twilight Prophet too for the drain-flip every turn. Razaketh puts you in the colors for her. You could try Tilonalli's Summoner too to help set up Ascend. The little dudes help give Ghalta her power discount too!
2:15:26 - "Have you ever played a game where your life total reached 4 digits?" - Played WRG slivers against the mirror. Multiple Essence Slivers gave each creature triple Lifelink, plus multiple Ward slivers made them all unblockable and unable to kill each other. 4000ish life on my side versus 1000ish life on opp's side eventually ended in a win for me with Lead the Stampede grabbing enough slivers to overwhelm the 200 lifegain per turn.
Hey Seth, Probably Better Known As Saffron “Big Scoops” Olive, I had an idea for a stream. I’d love to see you brew a deck with the chat and then take it into a league. Now seems like a great time to do it. You could even finish off with talking about how the deck might be improved.
Any idea why Animation Module didn't see much standard play in like Winding Constrictor ? It seems like a sweet utility card, but I assume there's a reason pros didn't play it?
I don't think Huatli should go in a deck with such slow creature/token build up and so many spells. I'm going to try her in cat tribal and warrior tribal decks that can push out creatures much faster and reliable than the deck featured here; with better abilities that suit Huatli's abilities. Definitely not a fan of Champion of Wits and Sunscourge Champion here (or blue for that matter).
"Could they have reworded Energy so that it drained by two on upkeep." Seems steep, but I'm in love with the general idea. I don't see why WOTC couldn't do something like, reword Banding to mean "if this attacks and is not blocked, gets +1/+1." Or if they reprint a Fear creature, reprint it so it has Intimidate. They've done kinda weird stuff like this in the past, like Loxodon Warhammer has two different abilities in both versions of the card, and I'd like WOTC to do stuff like this in the future.
Walloficecream What you're talking about is called an errata and WOTC does it when needed. Hostage Taker for example was reworded so it couldn't target itself which could result in infinite loops ending games in a draw. I don't think they would use it to completely change how an entire mechanic works, I won't say it's impossible but highly unlikely. Fear isn't required now that intimidate exists, it's exactly the same thing on black creatures. Fear is almost exclusively a black creature mechanic. Seems unnecessary to bring back. The differences between old and new versions of Loxodon Warhammer is simply that they replaced the wording of the ability with the keyword that ability became. It's exactly the same effect, the new versions just use the keyword to save space. Vigilance used to be "doesn't tap to attack" but was shortened to one keywod ability called vigilance. Fear is the same, and intimidate is actually based on a card called intimidate, that ultimately was given a keyword off it's namesake card. Just because a line of text is turned into a keyword doesn't mean it's ability changed. It was mostly done for technical reasons, i.e. save space for other text in the text box. That's all.
Well, what I'm implying goes farther than errata, to changing the spirit of the cards. WOTC has done this only once in the past with Time Vault having completely different text until Magic 2010. WOTC changed Time Vault back into the spirit of the card because a lot of people were angry that they had to "remember a completely different card than what was printed." I hope you get a better gist of my meaning.
Can everyone refer to Seth as "Big Scoops" for now on? Cause the idea of him saying "Big Scoops here for our neeewww subscriber!" makes me laugh quite a bit.
When do you stream? I'm in Korea for the next month so hours are wonky for me. Im sure you said a time that you stream at some point so this is probably a dumb question.
I have a superstition with bant. if I use less than 25 lands in a band deck, I get mana screwed everysingle time. no matter how many cards I draw. I think seth should play 25 lands in band just to see if his mana base gets better.
I think people don't realize that Wizards was just trying to make the decks a little less consistent to allow more diversity for the meta, without ruining the decks.
For fucks sake why do people care so much about Approach???? It hasn't topped any tournaments that I know of or anything, it's not like it's that broken, I don't know why people want approach banned so badly.
deck is so durdlely. With regards to the mana issues, the deck literally does nothing remotely on curve with the format and needs a 5 mana spell to catch up. Yes, it will get stuck on 4 lands - like every other deck will. However, while most decks could play out of it, your hand is irrelevent if you don't curve out.
Deck: 9:55
Round 1: 15:15

Shaun Rattue I
"Big Scoops here for our new subscriber" makes sense and that's the way I always heard it.

Punt on missing the Double Shefnet dunes lethal swing even though chat is spamming it.
they play unsummons

I'm playing the great aurora deck you showcase long ago. With just a few upgrades still does great to this day. Lolz.

O, God, I just can't with the durdle mirror (Game 1 vs UW Cycling)...

Saffron "Big Scoops" Olive
Matt Watson That made me laugh so hard. I'm only referring to him as "Big Scoops" from now on. I'm also looking forward to his rap album.
His mixtape's gonna be as hot as a Scalding Tarn.
Yeees this is what I wanted from standard. THE JANK IS REAL!
What's the song at 1:48:31? I'm getti g mad because it's soo good and I cannot find it...

That Merfolk deck in Match 1 might have been the SBMTG deck
At 50:00 you swing with the team than double settle next turn
He could just win that turn, couldnt he? swing with everything and double shefet dunes
Is there a preference between sending decklists in through Twitter or Email?
Why didn't you just put her in GW cats? I'd love to see that deck.
Hey guys its Seth, prrrooppaablly better known as Big Scoops
I read that as "Ban Huatli" at first glance.
I got a good Angrath deck just need to test it a little more
Can someone link the song to 2:02:10 please
Try Zelda a link to the past Fairy cave.
I thought he was saying "big scoops here for our new subscriber" as in the subcriber was a fish and they're getting some big scoops of fish food
can anyone link the reddit post they were talking about?

@2:54:00 why not -1 Huatli and alpha strike?
Definitely thought he was saying WALL-E emblem, not Huatli
I feel like settle is just a worse slaughter the strong for this deck.

Big Scoops CHEER
csys690 he said the "Idea of him saying"..., Not "his saying..."
csys690 I know that's what he says, I just want Seth to refer to himself as Big Scoops.
Why? That's a really odd and specific thing to want.
csys690 He jokes about it in the video, did you watch it?
Silent gravestone is just ground seal...

Check the Twitch channel, the hours are on there.

Coraline Kozun -it'll be OK cupcake. Need a hug?
Wayne Feller he's got a point. Is standard going to become ban central?
Games start 15:45
Is Huatli good on abzan tokens on modern? Or Gideon\Sorin's are just better?
Huatli doesn't do anything on her own so I think she's worse.
This is what we gave up Energy for...? Dear god.....
Blue white tokens that aren't monument should be banned.
Coo-meh-na.
Quinn Reynolds Queue- me-nae
please Seth, for the love of the Godpharaoh, shorten your sub callout Q_Q
I can't help but think that merfolk is going to make all the other decks look stupid. The king is dead long live the king type situation.
Moreover I feel like in a very short amount of time we will all be looking at merfolk the way we look at energy yesterday
Where are the time stamps?
Salaryman Paradise calm down vid has been out 4 like 30 seconds
Honestly these timestamps should be in the video description, it shouldn't be up to the viewers to make them.
Oh, 4 views. My bad, apologies.
as they are of time, they were in the future
huatli is not a good planeswalker. does not give board presence.

I don't know... I think Huatli sucks and this deck sucks lol
