Theses reviews are always helpful, don’t know why this video hasn’t received many views or likes. One thing I wish that you would add to all these reviews however is a wearing of them clip. Standardize it. Have the clip playing as you narrate. 10-20 seconds is enough. Go through several poses and actions. Stand. Squat. Toe point, (and toe point flexibility with toe jammed under immovable object), Step-walk-stride, left side view sitting on bike toe flex motion for gear change.
I have had these for about four or five months now and love them. The soles do soften up and become a little more flexible over time and they’re not uncomfortable to walk in. They feel light on the feet and well cushioned with no hotspots. The only negative from me is the squeaking. By god they squeak! It’s the external frame rubbing against the leather by the outer heel. It wouldn’t be enough to make me regret my purchase though as I bought them to be on the bike, not to walk around. Thumbs up from me.
I just got a pair and I had to size up but, the issue for me is the lower buckles, they create a pressure point on the top of my feet.... I hope it will go away. Right now I have to keep the lower buckles not as tight as I would like let's say. Not a big issue but still.
Thank you, the product description was very helpful. Over the past 10 years I have known and appreciated 2 pairs of Gaerne "Trail Balance Oiled" on long trips on road and gravel roads throughout Europe. Well greased they never leaked, the quality of the seams and the closure system are absolutely reliable. Now it should be a similarly comfortable shoe, but with more bone protection. I have ordered the model "Dakar Goretex". We Northern Europeans always have to order Gaerne 2 sizes larger, because the Italians must have very small feet...😅
Suggest to level up your demonstration on the protection each boot model offers. Some videos by others will actually demonstrate how hard or easy it is to bend the boot at the ankle area as well as the toe area. Your videos offer very little of that.
The G Dakar are lighter, less bulky and more comfortable to wear all day, so they would be my pick for something like a week long trip/adventure that is not strictly offroad and might involve walking into shops to get food and whatnot. However if the trip was mostly offroad on challenging (at least for me) trails, I would feel much safer in MX/enduro boots like the Fastback. You should try them both and feel the difference in stiffness.
I bought the fastback after marching around, and sitting around, and finally after hours I was convinced that they were best for me I was offered to take them for a test ride which confirmed that I could change gear ⚙️, which was my final question. So for me they not only offer superior performance-protection, but are also more comfortable. The comfort is obviously down to the individual. I’m very pleased that the stronger boot offered me the most comfort resulting in no conflict or compromise. 8 months down the track I am very pleased with my decision for many reasons one of which is climate control. They are amazing warm in cold weather and not too hot in warm weather. I don’t understand how 🤷♂️, probably because they are not waterproof. Negatives: take time to break in from a walking perspective. They are a squeak factory 🏭🤣. (A few very intense detailed cleaning sessions using a cleaning product helps enormously with this). The screws holding the buckles on were ALL loose. Tighten them before and after every use for the first 3-5 uses and then check them for a month or so. To be honest mine only needed one good tightening but better to do it more often than less just to make sure. They are BIG. If you are going to want to wear other shoes upon reaching your destination you need to have planed what to do with them. They “just” fit in my top box with almost nothing else. One each side in my panniers, (which I only use during cooler months because of extra clothing. Of all the above the last point impacts me personally the most. Many a time I’ve clomped around a mall in them because I have no choice 😬. But fantastic boots and I wouldn’t trade them for anything else. I have other lightweight road riding boots and only wear them for the diminutive size. They are not as comfortable from a fit and climate control perspective not to mention the enormous drop in protection, which worries me 😕.
Anybody want a deal on a set of these Dakars? The sole is so flexy/weak when I stand on the pegs....they are not dirt boots or even dirt road boots. The all leather on the front, no toe box in plastic? Save your money, buy some real boots. These are touring boots.

Great suggestion!
I take less risk and wear Sidi Crossfires while riding my over-weight adventure bike. I'd rather walk with squeaking than a limp.
Great review on a great boot. We love our new G-Dakar boots! I would suggest sizing down if your torn between two sizes.
Thanks for the video. Ordered.
I wear a 44 European in forma adventure. I like the wider fit but a little more wide could be nice. Would these be good in 44?
What is you opinion on these vs the Forma Terra Evo X?
How do these compare to the Midlands?
Thanks - how will you compare the width in the front / toe section in this vs. Terra Evo X?
Very helpful video, thank you! It would be really interesting to have a head to head comparison on G Dakars vs AStars Toucans. Any thoughts?
Easy, Toucan is uncomfortable with the buckles digging in. Corozal is much better. I would like to compare with Revit Discovery also.
When would you pick the g dakar over the fast back enduro? I mean you a rider, not as a marketer. The enduros are only around 50 bucks more
Waterproof Goretex membrane :)

I’m hopefully trying them both in the coming week. Pretty sure for obvious I will prefer to Dakar from a comfort standpoint.
@@hair2050 which ones did you end up with?

in your opinion, is this boot non so hot in summer? i mean, i know that it can't be a flip flop, but compared to other adventure boots, is it "fresh"?
These are great boots and the Gore-Tex is more breathable than a lot of other waterproofing membranes found on some other boots.
does this boot have a steel shank that runs all the way through to the forefoot?
No, this boot does not have a steel shank.
Listen to comments at 0:50. The fast back enduro isn’t water proof.
That's what he says.
