    The Gaerne Fastback Enduro Boot is an innovative off-road motorcycle boot with a sleek new look. Partially due to the exclusive Gaerne "wrap around" ankle pivot system. This new lightweight feature allows the rider more ankle support while at the same time gives you a comfortable fit. New alloy buckles, heavy duty burn guard, toe bumper and the trademark Gaerne sole complete the task.

    I bought these today after a five week search for boots and watching hundreds of these reviews. Only 45 minutes in them thus far so can’t say much. But I can say that they fit like a glove, ankle and calf, and are hot 🥵 on the leg as a result. They will be great cooler weather boots but it’s the middle of summer here in Australia, heat aplenty boys and girls. Super happy with them however. UPDATE: it’s over a year since I have had them. Closer to two than one. I did wear other boots for short rides during the summer but not because they were hot when riding, short rides typically meant going to the supermarket or other similar tasks. Clomping around in them off bike in the summer was not fun. On the bike however it really wasn’t a problem and I still prefer them over anything else, even during the summer. The biggest surprise has been their warmth. I haven’t tested them in truly cold weather, I’m not riding in that. But down to freezing point, 0 Celsius, they are great. Their robustness engenders confidence and on several occasions random items have smashed into them, zero consequences for me. Of course a truly significant impact, the bike landing on them during a significant and very undesirable event, is going to hurt. Otherwise they for me represent the best compromise between safety and comfort I can imagine.

    The only thing that worries me about this brand is the sole. Because part of it in the case of this boot is the flat part of the sole and the rest it’s “enduro”.. Do they have traction when you’re off the bike? Because if you’re in trouble and you have to push the bike for example in a place full of mud it’s going to be a problem if you don’t have enough traction you know? Does anyone have come across this situation? Are these really good in those conditions? What do you guys think? And another question, what do you guys think about the Gaerne Dakar goretex and the Sidi X Power Enduro?? Do you have a review of those?

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  2 года назад +1

      That's tough because they are pretty different in how they fit and feel. The 5.5 is a stiffer boot with more hard plastic all over and has great ankle support. The Fastback is a more "traditional" boot with the stitched on sole that is very durable, but doesn't have as much feel on the pegs. The Fastback is also very comfortable, has better buckles, and in terms of durability, Gaerne is hard to beat compared to any boot. If I was just riding off-road and motocross, I would get the 5.5. But if I was also doing some ADV riding, I would probably get the Fastback. - Chase

      That kind of depends. what kind of riding do you do? They're both pretty dang equal as far as protection and support - Chase

    How does the Gaerne Fastback Enduro boot rate against the Alpine Stars Tech 7 and the Sidi Crossfire 3??

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  11 месяцев назад

      I haven't ridden in the Fastback boots so it's hard for me to give you a good answer. I have ridden in the Tech 7 and the Crossfire 3 and the Tech 7 is a little wider with better peg feel but than the CF3. The CF3 isn't my favorite boot due to being narrow and lack of peg feel. I do like the ATOJO, though, much lighter and a little wider than the CF3. - Chase
