That charging port is dumb. I thought it was going to be installed into the bag. Meaning you charge the bag then plug in the phone

Charging the bag to be able to charge your devices is literally the same thing the power bank accomplishes..
You add a power back. Plug your USB devices into the port, and it charges.
What you are basically asking for is that the power storage be built in... which would then be a power bank that is hidden. No difference. You have to buy your own - sure.. but at least this way you get the option of choosing.
