Hey man i been driving 30 years.....SIR YOU ARE A GREAT DRIVER a real pro. i love how you handle backing situation. Your skills are awesome!!! Keep up the great videos brother.
I’ve been in tight backing situations like that myself. The most important thing is stay calm, even though your hands might start sweating. Pull the yellow button and take a time out if you’re stressing. Don’t get frustrated or lose your patience, cause that’s when you mess up and damage something. And then it hangs over your head for a long time. Don’t forget that sliding your axles on your trailer can help in tight situations. Slide them forward to give you better turning radius in a small yard, but be aware your ass is hanging way out and can swing around and hit stuff. or you can slide your axles all the way back if you need to pull out of a dock with not enough side clearance. Some shippers that require you to unhook during a live load want the axles all the way back anyway so the front of the trailer doesn’t lift up when the forklift drives onto the back. Sliding your axles is a pain, but sometimes when you are out of options, it can save your butt. Just remember to dump your air suspension before you pull or push the trailer with the red button out. If the trailer has recently turned loaded, the frame will be slightly twisted and the locking pins on your axles might be jammed and difficult to release. Make sure you use a flashlight and verify all 4 pins are extended into the slots before you leave the shipper! Most states require your axles be centred at the 41 ft mark. California I believe is 40’ to the centre of the last axle. Can’t remember if Maine is the same. You did a good job bro. You got in and out with only a scuffed steer tire, and no yellow paint on your front bumper! Haha
I’m not a truck driver but I love these vids. I try to be as courteous as possible to truckers cause I know how ignorant some drivers can be. Keep up the great work man. Drive safe.
When I drove I loved Chicago as long as it wasn’t morning crush hour. I don’t know how it is now but I was never scared and I would walk around in a lot of industrial areas. I retired over 15 years ago so it may have changed but even gangs didn’t mess with me. I was a truck driver and not a threat to anyone. Good job watching out for everyone on the road driver.
Dude I don't drive a truck, nor do I know the first thing about backing in...........but that was a phenomenal job. Especially with a stretched out truck. I have watched a bunch of other trucking videos, but this is by far one of the best backing jobs I have ever seen. I also respect how you are constantly watching the traffic around you while moving down the road. You have my utmost respect brother. Stay safe out there and keep the shiny side up.
@@High_strung No problem man. Quick question though. Did your boss do all of the mods and additions to the truck or does he allow you to add/change things since you drive it?
I think the driving looks pretty easy and common sensical. The skill and talent comes with backing the trailer. That is not something most people could do.
@@chefjaike You couldn't be more wrong big bro... the backing is the easy part! Dealing with all these people on the road is actually the most stressful part of the operation. I bet you have no clue how much this cat is actually doing to make this vlog look smooth.
@@2420orion You're right...I have no idea. But still...backing a semi trailer is not easy and like second nature...it takes alot of practice and patience.
I just retired from running the Big Road for 30 years with a 40 foot frameless dump hooked to a 05 379 Pete. It REALLY nice to watch your travels without having to do the “ Heavy Lifting”. Stay safe!
Looks like the Chicago Meat Authority on 47th Place. I use to deliver meat there years ago. In a Freightliner Century and A 48 foot trailer it was tight.
Whats color matter man!? Guys like big ol trucks period. Iv only been driving a year but hope I can be as cool as this dude one day. If you like the videos that much, go drive . Its paying pretty good and there are tons of openings across the country . Nobody wants to do it anymore and its sad.
This is bad ASS. I love the sound of a Jake Brake and that big diesel when you push it to the floor. Dude, your one bad mouther trucker. Big wheels rolling.
18:50 - that is where the guy was relieving himself in the middle of the day last time. LOL. Good ole Dan Ryan expressway. The only time to roll thru there is after midnight, and preferably on a weekend night. No delays, just roll coal. Great stuff!
I used to work at a semi repair facility, ever since then it’s made me have way more respect for people that drive these rigs every day. Your videos are awesome, your truck is bitchin, and you’re attitude about the journey is right on. Great videos man, subscribed!

Don't miss pulling a reefer through there, that place always was a good challenge. But I recently moved into open deck and heavy haul.
You're only like the 3rd guy I've heard say open deck in the past 22 yrs out here. We have always said skateboard, step or RGN,
That’s right I ♥️when you say Chicago is absolutely beautiful at night truly is the most beautiful city in the Midwest Chicago is gorgeous no other City in the planet 🌎 my respects to you 💯♥️the Chi 💯drive over here no joke
