    Finished combing out my locks of 5 years 2 weeks ago. It took me 2 weeks, at first 2-3 hours a loc but eventually 20-45 minutes. My granny and I worked 11 hours a day for a week 😭😭
    Best choice I ever made with my hair! I was rocking an Afro for two weeks and my hair is about 3-4 inches longer than it was in the locs. Yesturday got passion twists. It’s 100% worth the effort of combing and not cutting.

    Currently taking mine of 5 yrs out now for basically the same reasons lol... it's such a big misconception that locs have to be permanent ❤

    You’re one of a very VERY few that I’ve seen comb their locs out with care. I’m currently combing out my locs and the amount of girlies I’ve seen ripping their locs out was cringy. Your hair is beautiful and healthy, even after the locs and you have demonstrated why that is. Thanks for sharing!

    I combed mine out after a year 2 weeks ago. So far I have no regrets. I wanted to redo them but now I think I prefer how I look with my loose natural hair.

      I was also thinking about doing the same thing but I’m enjoying my loose hair for now

    I am busy combing out my hair, it's been a week now but losing half the length of my loc once it's combed out😭😭😭. But you seem to retain your length

    I had mine for two and a half years too but i had to cut off 6 inches of my hair because it was split ends. It also took me a month to remove them. Started with comb coils as well and myhair was healthy before I got locs...I used lots of water and conditioner. So sad but I’m sure it’ll grow back in another year

    I’m on my last 8 locs to comb out. After 9 years. It does take about an hour per loc. I’m on week 2. Not sure what going to do after they are out but I am excited.

    I just put in mine and I’m ready to take it down. The thing is I insta loved it so I’m not sure if I can come that out at all!!!!! Help!!! I had sooo much thick hair and did amazing styles on my loose natural hair

      @CintWard  3 года назад +2

      I don’t really have experience with the instalocs however if you can find a good loctician, they should be able to let you know how you can remove them

  • @Dekthagr8

    Did you trim your ends before you started your loc.
    Also, how did you take care of your hair? How often did you retwist?

    • @CintWard
      @CintWard  2 года назад +2

      My ends were pretty healthy prior to starting so I didn't need a trim. Once locd, I washed and Retwist every 3-4 weeks

    The ease with which you loose out your loc is a bit unbelievable.

      The process was definitely harder than it looked. I thought I might get carpal tunnel at one point lol.

    hey, after combing out your locs, did your hair get thicker or thinner?

    • @CintWard
      @CintWard  2 года назад +5

      My hair was the same in thickness. I did need to trim my ends though. Other than that, I had no major changes

    According to this other video I was watching its better not to use water and conditioner for more coiler hair instead use lots of grease and grease/oil products

    • @CintWard
      @CintWard  3 года назад

      Mine was pretty easy with this method but I can definitely see how using oil based products can be helpful for tighter curls/coils. Great tip!

    I’ve been locd for 4 yrs now will you loose a lot of hair on the take down? I’m nervous

    • @CintWard
      @CintWard  2 года назад +3

      Not if you're gentle and you took good care of your hair while it was locd. You should only be losing the hair that you would normally shed if the hair was loose.
