Fighting the demi fiend and seeing the demons he use being not the strongest but the ones people used to have in its party or the most iconic does kinda feel like when fighting red in gold silver, like you're fighting some kind of legend, but also a part of you itself :)

I know it’s obviously because he’s using demons from Nocturne in his party, but I like that all the demons in his party all have classic designs. The clash between the old and the new here is really cool in my opinion
and here's the fact, nahobino use a team of massive god-class demons like metatron, beelzebub, nuwa and such while demifiend only use low-mid class demons that people usually toss away for bigger game and it still took 47 minutes for nahobino to beat demifiend and after that, demifiend still look fresh for another round over and over
He's always been holding back. The Nahobino can literally go back to the hall of chaos before fighting the strongest enemy in the game and still get treated like weakling.

Atlus really outdid themselves with this one. Yes, Demi-Fiend is hard, but they gave the players so many tools and resources to make this fight really manageable. The DDS fight was really RNG heavy reliant, yes this version is still that, but there's WAY less rng BS in this. Great job Buff, this video was amazing to watch.
Ive said it before and ill say it again: no matter how strong you get, no matter what demons you use, no matter what the story may say...the Demi-Fiend will always see you as a common enemy.

@@lubbo5261 Honestly red magatama aren't as annoying as an issue as essence farming for the Repel Phys skill. It's just doing the same thing over and over and the chance is random... And you can only have one essence of a kind at a time so you have to redo it all over again for every demon you wish to use.

I played it on PS2 and now after seeing this fight I will buy the HD remake for PS4. Seeing Demi-fiend is pure nostalgic and reminds me how I loved playing SMT 3.
Atlus, next challenge. Digital Devil Saga Demi-fiend is harder. Took about 5 attempts. It could have been faster but Pixie got a Dia off that heals for 8868 and that hurts a lot 25:50. With better demon rotations, mixing in buffs and then nuke it with Magatsuhi, you could probably get it below 30 minutes. The end was a bit of a clutch with the misses, I didn’t want to kill Chu so that he would summon Pixie to get healed again. Most likely he would have used Gaea Rage next due to turn order of not downing a demon.
I think another reason he was easier here than in dds is because you have alot more options for party members here, and you can give them reflect phys without setting off gaea rage,dds party couldn't just reflect the javelin rains, also demifiend is controllable with that new switching strat
You know, I’ve seen a number of secret bosses. There was Emerald and Ruby Weapon, I fought a number of Amons in the Yakuza series, the secret boss in FFXV, but out of all the secrets bosses I’ve seen, none of them seem to have such a badass and intimidating intro like Demi-Fiend here. The way he slowly turns around and his eyes and tattoos glow while the guitar strums is so cool.
Can't wait for the madlad who mods this fight so that Demi Fiend Nulls everything and Gaea's rage you if any of your demons repel, null or drain any element. Oh and if you touch Pixie he still Gaea Rages you like in DDS
This Demi - fiend is meming on new game plus. Low to mid level demons, with high level skills, most likely result of a high level sacrifice. Demi fiend has also gotten the extra press turn from izanagi. If Demi fiend was really serious this fight would be impossible.
My personal headcannons for Demi-fiend's choice of Demons in his party: Pixie: - obviously the one he met at the start of his journey and the one that's been by his side the longest Jack Frost: - it's likely just because he's a mascot, but this could also be the Jack Frost that left his post as a Junkshop seller in order to go on a journey to become "the most evil Jack Frost", later becoming Black Frost and attempting to take over the Kabukicho Prison with his army out of being evil, only to be stopped by the Demi-fiend and killed, but later found in he Third Kalpa where he is recruited so that "he could be the strongest by being with the strongest" (Personally I feel like it was a missed opportunity to make Jack Frost Black Frost in this fight) Cu Chulainn: - this could've been a Setanta that the Demi-fiend recruited in Yoyogi Park and later evolved, if that's the case, then this holds special meaning as Yoyogi Park is a notable location for being the place where Aradia tests his conviction and courage - this could also be a throwback to the Maniax Version opening movie, where Cu Chulainn was seen being fused with Cerberus in the Cathedral of Shadows Cerberus: - like with Cu Chulainn, this might be a throwback to the Maniax intro - it might also be the same or simply a callback to the Cerberus that challenges Demi-fiend to rematch the Burial Chambers' demons and leads him to Izanagi and Izanami when successful in order for him to be granted an extra Press Turn in a New Cycle (this has to be the case as this could be the in-universe explanation behind why Demi-fiend has an Extra Turn other than just simply being a superboss character) Girimekhala: - this could be a callback to the Girimekhala that Sakahagi summons in an attempt to kill the Demi-fiend and his allies in Yoyogi Park during the Yahirono Hamurogi retrieval side quest - it may also be the same Girimekhala that Demi-fiend bought from the Shady Broker in the Fifth Kalpa that knows Pierce (which may also imply that Demi-fiend canonically fused a Metatron for that purpose) Thor: - this implies one of two things: 1. This may be a separately fused Thor in honor/out of spite of the Thor that Demi-fiend fought at the Mantra HQ and later again at the Tower of Kagutsuchi on his way to Chiaki/Baal Avatar - 2. Pretty sure it would be straight up impossible considering the AI's anti-cheese policy and the insane damage Demi Fiend's attacks can dish out. Additionally, since the fight is essentially a constant DPS-race(Demi Fiend will cast Gaea Rage and instakill your entire party if you don't defeat one of his summoned demons every couple of turns), I'm pretty sure you just straight up can't keep up with the required DPS.

nothing to do with RNG as you can just control it and get around it. just make sure to kill any ally demon within 5 turns, and avoid using any any nullifying or reflecting spells, and you won't get hit with Gaea rage.
@@Yusei255 The Chaotic magic (and potential missed attacks or getting hit by a critical from the enemy) are RNG based, surely you can equip resist instant-kill attacks but even so the RNG is still in place, one bad RNG and the Nahobino's history, forcing you to restart the fight.
@@PikangsFutaba or just cheese it by having your entire stock have the repel or drain physical skill/trait and then keep switching them out. That's because they scripted the fight to have Demi-Fiend use a physical skill on the new demon that just got switched in. If that demon has drain or repel physical, demi fiend will lose all of its turns.
"I have more health than the final boss, five press turns, and you're not allowed to use Tetrakarn." "OK that sounds manageable, anything else?" "Yeah, if I get bored I'll just kill you." "Wait, what?" "Too slow" [Gaea Rage]

Yusei255 It gets tricky however if your entire team nullifies Physical attacks, since his attacks don’t pierce. He will use Friekugel and Chaotic Will, if he uses Chaotic Will, it deals damage and halves the amount of press turns you can normally have. So it will become a faster DPS race. So if you have Nahabino and 2 Demons, you get 2 and a half Press Turn Icons. I think this is why Buffie kept swapping Demons, as I think Demi-fiend will prioritize attacking the demon that just got swapped in. At least that is what I read somewhere and from my personal experiences fighting the guy. I could be wrong.
Yo ho you made it 😃😃 Good job. Also just wanna mention, that the fact that end game Nahobino, the one who's superior to matter lucifer who, according to his description, is *infinitely* more powerful than Yhvh, is still gonna get the same result in a rematch no matter how much stronger the Nahobino gets. I'm convinced the only time the protagonist is equal to the demi fiend is when he becomes God in the hidden ending.
The Demi Fiend fight is really fun and challenging. I wouldn't mind at all to fight him again and again. (Though I do need to customize Odin a bit more and tune his Magic Stat.)
Now if they added Flynn from SMT4 fir DLC, I’d really go nuts especially if they gave him the really broken shit from that game and give him smirks. I’d bet it’d be so fun lol

You can farmthe Red Magatama quite easyly, even if you don't have the DLC they have spots where they will always 100% spawn.

I only played smt 3 this summer and i feel nostagic. Cant imagine how someone whos played it back on ps2 years ago feels.

That's because they scripted the fight to have Demi-Fiend use a physical skill on the new demon that just got switched in. If that demon has drain or repel physical, demi fiend will lose all of its turns.

Actually seems like he does have Enduring Soul since he doesn't go down when you beat him. Proccing Enduring Soul is just the end of the battle.

If you don't kill an ally demon within 5 turns he nukes you.
He also does it if you use any nullifying or reflecting spell iirc.

Yusei255 It gets tricky however if your entire team nullifies Physical attacks, since his attacks don’t pierce. He will use Friekugel and Chaotic Will, if he uses Chaotic Will, it deals damage and halves the amount of press turns you can normally have. So it will become a faster DPS race. So if you have Nahabino and 2 Demons, you get 2 and a half Press Turn Icons. I think this is why Buffie kept swapping Demons, as I think Demi-fiend will prioritize attacking the demon that just got swapped in. At least that is what I read somewhere and from my personal experiences fighting the guy. I could be wrong.

Also just wanna mention, that the fact that end game Nahobino, the one who's superior to matter lucifer who, according to his description, is *infinitely* more powerful than Yhvh, is still gonna get the same result in a rematch no matter how much stronger the Nahobino gets.
I'm convinced the only time the protagonist is equal to the demi fiend is when he becomes God in the hidden ending.
Than again Demi fiend is not really defeated I still think if it were to death Demi fiend would still win.

Freikugal was also nerfed here. in nocturne freikugal does 900 to 12K damage

The Demi Fiend fight is really fun and challenging. I wouldn't mind at all to fight him again and again. (Though I do need to customize Odin a bit more and tune his Magic Stat.)
