They could of approach them about it, to take down the site, of their licence property games. Yet they never warned them. It was a fat lawsuit without warning. Heck yeah, even tho I was only around 7 y/o I remember my uncle teaching me about anime, specially DBZ and I remember seeing Goku SSJ 5 and thinking it was real, but that it was from a secret story after GT that only some people knew about, but I really wanted to see that "anime" or "cartoon" of DB but never found anything, until later on with years past I realized it was pure fan art :(

I remember my friend showing me Dragon ball af stuff when I was a kid, I was blown away, this was when computers were JUST starting to be in people's house holds regularly. I remember being so amazed at the time lol, so crazy to see you talking about it now.
Dragonball AF, that's a name I haven't heard in years. I remember my older cousins told me that Dragonball AF was real and was gonna happen back in the mid to late 00's when I was younger, right after GT ended. We would look up fan art of SSJ5 thinking it was real.

Dragon Ball... Beyond Saiyan?

If you haven't yet, look for the Dragon Ball Multiverse fan comic online. It's done by a bunch of different artists, and from what I remember, it's basically another tournament. But, it's done in a "what if" kind of scenario, where different universes were created from the different events that happened throughout DB-DBZ. In one universe, Goku never met Grandpa Gohan, and Krillin, Yamcha (who was an android in this universe), and Tien were the heroes. In another Majin Buu absorbed everyone. And in another, Nail fused with every Namekian ever and literally became the last one. Each universe has it's own side story, and it's really good the way it's presented. Give it a read when you can.
Vegetto is permanently fused, the way Dbz intended and the manga is better than Super’s ToP imho.

In my country, when there were rumors of Dragon Ball Af, people were still watching Dragon Ball Z. We were been told by older kids about the existence of two new series: Dragon Ball Gt and Dragon Ball Af. Nobody HAD internet back then (yeah, it already existed), so nobody could check. Eventually, Dragon Ball Z finished and the same Tv network aired Dragon Ball Gt the following day. This confirmed the rumor, so everyone assumed that Dragon Ball Af was going to be aired after Gt.
In other words, everyone in my city thought Dragon Ball Af was real.
I remember the first time i saw the Super Saiyan 5 image. I was in an Eckerd(now known as Rite Aide so you know it was way back) pharmacy store. I picked up the magazine because i saw it had something about this dragonball af which i never heard about. I was amazed when i saw the picture. So amazed I ripped the page out of the magazine lol. I thought i had the most rarest and hidden dragonball knowledge. I told every one about it but no body believed me because i lost the image some how. This was back before alot of us even had computers so i couldn't show no one proof. Lol
funny every place I saw it back in the day listed it as super sayian level 6.
Man I've watched hundreds upon hundreds of your videos, yet this one inspired me. I'm an artist working on my own manga, I've followed Toriyama my entire life. My art has gotten to a point where I have my own style but I can mimic almost anything I see. I didn't think learning to draw other people's characters would matter but damn. I'm truly inspired. Thank you man.
Wow! So dude been such a fan for years just been in an attic somewhere creating his own content the last 15 years and got his chance to work with the originator of the series? And helped prolong the franchise with newer storylines, newer villains, and newer powers?! Hats off to that guy and THANK YOOOOU! I know this video is really old and I’m not sure if you’ll see this. But Tablos has a reputation in the Hispanic DB Community for being extremely toxic, raging out to anyone criticizing his work; reason being that he believes Toyotaro isn’t good enough to be working with Toriyama and that HE should’ve been the one hired for the DBS Manga(despite the fact he doesn’t speak a word of Japanese)
He’s also known for using very edgy designs and storylines in his works, saying that Toyotaro doesn’t understand the “essence” of Dragon Ball(Such “essence” being extreme gore with blood and organs flying around)
He’s been ridiculed by the Hispanic DB Community for his controversial takes and isn’t really taken seriously
Crazy to see the parallels between the two “creators” of Dragon Ball AF, one flying onto stardom under Toriyama’s watch and the other being ridiculed by the community

Since there are so many fan mangas, I would find awesome if they made a fan manga like multiverse with dbs, af. This would be awesome, imagine black vs xicor, super goku and vegeta meeting their other conterparts and telling them about the gods and god ki, zamasu meeting the north kaioshin which in af survived and is evil
Except that the characters goals and motivations, designs and stories overall are completely different, the only fucking similarity is the kaioshin and "goku clone"

WHO CAN FORGET AF. THE SUPER SAIYAN 5 PICTURE =P. It was so different in the early 2000's...people find it hard to understand. The internet was not as centralized as it was today and rumors were very hard to verify....especially if it came from a different country! Finding (and downloading) full DB/Z/GT episodes took such a long time...you had to scour the depths, and finding an accurate sub was like finding a diamond in the rough. The internet was a mysterious place full of wonders lmao...really!

I have all Toyble's AF books. It's actually a really interesting story and I would love to see it adapted in some way. The 100 year gap timeline at the end of GT would be awesome to explore. SSJ4 Gohan is already making appearances in games like Heroes and Extreme Butoden, so why not? SSJ4 Gohan would be *amazing*

I love the Form & Design so much I even bought a Figure of it which doesn't look bad at all. It's nicely colored, slightly detailed, & doesn't look off despite not being an actual series though.

In France we had Dragon Ball back in 1991 and DBZ shortly after. In Italy it was the same. It's only in the Americas that it took off so late (late 90's - early 00's).

THANK YOU. Finally an in depth exploration of DB AF on RUclips! Not trying to throw shade on Josh at Dragon Ball Nation, I have much love for him and his content, but his video was missing a lot of key details. He didn't even differentiate between Toyo and Young Jiji's versions of AF.

Yeah, it was a face cam vid basically covering everything you talked about but much briefer and kind of talking about everything in one big collective, as if all of DB AF was created by the same person, even if that's not what he intended.
I remember AF floating around the internet back in the day. I was still using dial up at the time and found the pictures for AF on those fan websites that had all pictures on one website.
I first saw an episode of DB in 1994 when I was ten years old. I’ve been a fan of it ever since. I have the vhs cassette tapes in both English and Japanese. I’ll eventually buy it for dvd.
My god.. I had no idea.. Dragon ball af was fan manga and fan art.. I thought it was canon but there must be a lot fan manga story of Dragon ball that we don't know about same with Dragon ball Absalon.. I wanna know more of Dragon ball AF and Dragon ball heroes..

i think what's amusing is even in his doujin of dragon ball AF, he gave gohan more to do while getting a new form (ssj4) and goten became an itteration of the great saiyaman. cut to years later in the super hero manga and movie, gohan is now doing something and gets a new transformation (beast) and goten is an itteration of the great saiyaman.
