Greetings from the other side! (●´∀`)ノ♡
Watching this video back, I realize that I barely pause to breathe in-between sentences sometimes, but there is just SO much to say on this topic, I was really trying to keep it under 20 minutes! This video was a beast to finish too, I swear it brought me closer than ever to becoming a real skeleton haha! But we made the deadline and this is what matters! Besides, I will be okay, I only need to adapt to my new life with our puppy Mocha and having to get used to this new time schedule that we have with him which leaves me with less time to work, but fills my day with a lot of happiness and laughter. In any case, I hope this video will cover for my longer than intended break from RUclips, I really hope to bring you guys a new video much sooner next time!
Again, thank you so, so much to all my watchers and subscribers, see you in the next one!
Best regards,
Crimsy

It's aliiiiive! We're back in the game baby and hopefully for good now! I hope you little ghost watchers will find this video helpful, there are so many ways to approach coloring with digital art, but I believe this method is one of the fastest and most versatile out there, so it's definitely worth learning about! Let me know if I should cover different coloring techniques or if you have any other topics you would like a tutorial to cover and I will add your suggestion to a list of potential future videos and YT shorts! Thank you so much for watching and have fun arting everybody, I will see you in the next one! (´∀`)♡
holy! this was super helpful.. now I gotta learn to draw in grayscale properly
Really cool! This makes me want to try shading in grayscale again
Thanks! The cool thing with digital art is that you can switch up your coloring technique as much as you want, so go have fun with it! ( ◜◒◝ )♡
I've begun painting more often with gradient maps in my work but with some struggles, however this video was a wealth of information I hadn't considered or known about until now, thank you kindly for the lesson!
Thank you so much for the sweet words! It always makes my day to read comments like yours and to know my videos are really helping people. Cheers! (๑ →ܫ←)🩷
thankyou so much, this has been an absolute life changer. very nice to the point video with a brief explanation of color theory and how to make your own gradients. amazing.
Thank you so much for your comment, it makes me really happy to know this video is still helping people out! Wishing you the best on your creative journey! (‘∀’●)♡
I'm so glad I found this video!!! This is so cool! Thank you! Subbed of course!
Loved it! I never knew CSP was capable of doing gradient maps. Thought it was a fancy Photoshop thingy xD I ALWAYS LEARN WITH YOUR VIDEOS! WHEEEEEEE
Ahhh thank youuu! A lot of people don't know CSP is capable of doing pretty much everything PS can do, but the drawing experience itself is so much better and smoother in CSP! Not to mention CSP frequently updates its software to add tools requested by the community, so they ACTUALLY LISTEN! (ง •̀ω•́)ง✧
But anyway, thanks for the sweet comment and have fun arting, cheers! (●´∀`)ノ♡
I like your spooky little room.
Why, thank you. ↶( *`ω´ )Ψ
Thanks!!! I really need this tutorial fr ~
You're very welcome, I'm glad I could help! (´∀`)♡

Oh thanks, I love collecting those! (‘∀’●)♡
Hey there. At 13:00, you delete the white layer mask. What does this do? I see it does something with allowing you to color specific areas with the gradient map, but I'm not sure I'm understanding this fully. Thanks!
I did not delete it, I only filled it with black (color pick black, select your mask layer, then press alt + del on your keyboard to fill in the black). I then fill the white in manually with a brush and this serves to mask the area you want filled in with your gradient layer. Hope this answers your question! :)
5:56 I was wondering, doesn't it make HSV more consistent and recommended for people who are working on grayscale, btw? Maybe I'm just biased cuz HSV is my favourite but idk
I think overall HLS is a bit more consistent for the grayscale to color process as seen in the example, but both can be used as long as you understand that with HSV any change in the saturation when picking colors will result in a different tonal value. That being said, I eyeball it a lot personally and I believe as long as the values in your original artwork remain somewhat the same, it's fine to go with what you personally feel looks better aesthetically. :)
Ok I hope this isnt silly lol but since all of your bodyparts are in folders, is your greyscale coloring in each folder instead of being colored all in one piece? Like how does the gradient map know to do that?
I think what you mean is how do you keep the gradient map from affecting the entire image and only target one folder at a time? This is done through a clipping mask, by placing the gradient map above your color folder, selecting your gradient map, then clicking on the little overlapping squares with the dotted outline icon in the layer window on the right of your screen. When you hover on top of it it should say ''clip to layer below''. Activate it and that's it! :)
Hi i have a question... Is it possible to select multiple areas with the lasso tool? If the answer is yes, how do I do that?
I believe all you need to do is select an area, then hold shift and a little + icon will appear next to your cursor so you can add more areas to your selection. You can also hold Alt to remove parts of your selection. Hope that helps! :)
Bravo ! À quand en français ?
Merci! Malheureusement, ça ne sera pas pour bientôt. (´∀`;)
