Its October 18, 2023 some 43 years since the release of this song in 1980 and to this day, I cant think of a more powerful song that has more truth in it today than it did in 1980!!....Temptations Forever!!
This song is what the world need to do we need power God power he is the only help for this world thank God for Melvin,Dennis, and Glenn voices very well preformed

What I love about Melvin Franklin's amazing deep voice is how he can continuously sing at a particular deep range for a long period of time without getting tired, while at the same time it sounds like he's creating a remix of the song with his own voice. Melvin Franklin is easily my favorite member of the Temptations.

This was an awesome use of some of the best voices from this legendary group! The way Melvin started off the song definitely generated raw power. He got the audience revved up for what would turn into a powerful presentation from the whole group. There is a reason why this is my all time favorite group. And even though this was not the original lineup, it was one of my favorite configurations of The Temptations.
During this time slowly moving towards the end of the Disco era, Dennis was just returning to the group. This was 1980 and Dennis was roaring like a lion on this song live. He sounded fantastic and so did the incredible Melvin Franklin with that "Power Boom Boom" bass!!! This song is one of my absolute favorites from the Tempts and will always be in my Tempts Playlist. RIP to All the men who sang with this dynamic group! Temptations Forever!!!
I have to give credit. Finally Melvin is shining thanks to this song. And Dennis Edwards backing him up you can't go wrong. Another Temptations classic. Enuff said
Not to toot my own horn, but after not hearing this song for over a third of a century (I'm 42), it trips me out that I've been able to do that Melvin Franklin bass line since age 21... MY GOD, HE WAS UNREAL.
Every one has a favorite lead with the Temps. My is the dynamic Dennis Edward. The group really came into it's own with Dennis on lead. Unmatched before or since. Again, jmos
The gritty sound of Dennis Edwards voice gave Norman Whitfield and Barrett Strong the opportunity to write such powerful songs for the Tempts, thereby making them reach the peak of their career. Great sounds with Dennis as lead.
He totally drives this song. He uses his bass in the manner of an instrument, therefore giving the bass player the option to play his instrument in another manner. Love it. Yes, it worked beautifully.
Everything about this song is slammin'. Listen to the vocals, the instuments, the choreography,Damn!!!! It's right on point with the Title. My boys were killing this cut.
This is one of my favorite songs by The “Mighty” Temptations! Gone but never forgotten Melvin “Blue” Franklin and Dennis Edwards R. I. H. One of my favorite groups!!!
This song is definitely what the temptations is about controversial things that happened in the world political power personal power this is the mighty temptations
They came back strong on this after those disastrous Atlantic releases in addition to bringing back their strong lead of Mr Edwards. This song was cold.
I love every song The Temptations sing. I love this video. This is a live version, The studio song is only like what 4 minutes long. This is almost 7 minutes. They are all dancing and yelling. I love how each and every Temptations gets his own little part in the song. This is my favorite from my man Melvin though. What a cool video.
Schmidty’s Kettle Corn the album version is the same length as this performance (about 6 min long), just compare it. anyways on my other channel i remastered the audio and lined up the album version with this just to prove its was actually lipsynced ruclips.net/video/bMJ034p1iKs/видео.html
Hi edagdwg thanks for sharing this story of what happens when you have story to tell God is always around pray changes everything and people God gives you true power to live a blessed life with love in your heart Linda j.💯💯💯💯☮️☮️☮️☮️
All of them!! Not just Trump...add in the Congress and Senate as well. They don't work for us...they work for big business and it's all about greed and power.
One of my first memories is dancing to this song on sun warmed wood floors. I was little enough I still had my first training undies on. lol Weird but good memory.
This is the group that I met in Dothan Alabama and the same set up that would go on and record Silent Night and I actually remember watching this performance when it came out in 1980. Berry Gordy wrote this song and The Tempts had just came back to Motown and Dennis had just returned back to the Tempts. Melvin's bass is amazing and Dennis literally goes to church at the end of the song. It's on the format of a singing preacher and you hear him literally screaming at the end with a amazing performance! The only performance that reminds me of that kind of intensity is Johnny Gill on the end of NE Heartbreak.
Sang anything and we went down and bought those eight track tapes.. There’s Dennis boldly singing and listen Melvin going deep. They dressed in suits and performed.. Power, LB February 2022
What a great performance of this song "Power!" The video is not that good, but the Temptations' dancing routine and vocals were awesome!!! Go, brother Dennis!
Love me some Melvin Franklin! If you wanna hear him cut up on a song please look up "You Didn't Show Girl" an "unreleased" Temptations song. He's delivering!!

Rip dennis Edwards a great voice
DENNIS EDWARDS was a great LEAD SINGER for the TEMPTATIONS
They are dancing their behinds off, especially Glenn Leonard, he can really move.
This and "A Song for You" are my absolute favorite performances by Dennis Edwards. I LOVE HIM. His voice is UNMATCHED!

True, true. Ali was a force to be reckoned with too!

this song shows that Melvin was underutilized much of the time; they give him a taste here and he works it!!
He totally drives this song. He uses his bass in the manner of an instrument, therefore giving the bass player the option to play his instrument in another manner. Love it. Yes, it worked beautifully.

amazing how relevant many of these old songs are today! guess that means in some areas we haven't made much progress - very sad, in this case.
