I really appreciate you doing more videos on pre production! It’s an important part of the process but it’s hard to learn on your own and not many tutorials can cover it.
This is great! I enjoyed this entire series. I feel like I've been really inefficient with conveying what i want to make and this series will hopefully help me in the future. I never really considered using mood boards in the past because the thought never really occurred to me. Normally I would just go through Behance or Instagram and make whatever. But now I've learned a much better way of doing pre production. Thanks so much!
Thanks! We're a ways off from the whole thing getting done. But It'll happen eventually. Our next episode we'll do a scene from the boards. Then I'll have to carve out the time to make the other scenes happen. But we'll get there eventually ;)
Imagine if Milanote put their efforts into making the software what it needs to be rather than paying influencers to market an unfinished product (I love your vids tho Evan)
We're going to skip it in this series sadly. The trip from boards to animatic is often a short one. I may jump into animatics in a later short tutorial though. There just isn't enough meat there in this case. It'll likely be touched on like a cooking show at the start of the final instalment next month.
Hi, nice video. I am working on my demo reel. I was told that animation is good, but it needs more stuff in it. So where can I find story boards I can use for my motion graphics? I really do not wish to spend a lifetime learning how to create storyboards when there are already awesome people creating them and posting them. Well I hope that they are posting them... for me to animate them. So, any ideas where I can find some great story borads I can use?
Hello Evan! My name is Kiara, I am currently working on a storyboard project for my fundamentals of digital media class and we have to insert our story board from a different program into a word document. Would you be able to help me out, or give me some pointers? Thank you
Lol. Thanks for saying so. I'm actually working on a couple podcasts right now! Although, they are not really design related so they might have limited appeal to fans of this channel :)
@@ECAbrams I wanted to look up a particular Ae tutorial so I went to your channel's home page and it was one of the first videos that popped up. I thought 'unlisted' meant link only, but I guess YT might have modified it?
Let's say you aren't the script writer, and you are handed a script that you've never seen before and asked to come up with the visual narrative. Do you have any tips for that situation?
Absolutely. You want to look at what is essential to convey the narrative. Not only literally, but abstractly as well. What is the simplest visual to convey the core content. I like to come at the visuals from multiple angles and then choose one. But the AV script is typically the part of the process where this starts to take shape.
Evan, much love, brother, but please label your videos as advertisements when that's all they are. Not to diminish the value of storyboarding, but you obviously made this video solely for the purpose of advertising the tool. Some of us would prefer to skip the ads since the companies who pay for them aren't interested in pricing their product for a regular hobbyist.
@Guide To Getting It On It's great you got value from the video, but that has nothing to do with the ethics of labeling advertisements. We're talking basic etiquette here.

Absolutely. It may be the most important ;) I'm glad you're enjoying the series!
Thanks for being my motion design teacher!
You are very welcome!

You’re the John Holmes of motion graphics. Thank you.
I'll be honest, I'm not totally certain who that is.
He’s the Wayne Gretzky of porn.
I thought storyboards come before style frames? thanks so much for this series, it is saving my life
Thanks buddy.... it's going yo easy for me from now to arrange my motion design projects fluently ❤️
Fantastic! I'm always happy to hear this series helps people out like that.
Watching this in 2021- super helpful! Thank you so much for the straightforward tutorial :)
that's super useful, Evan!!! you're the Man! looking forward to see the final animation!

Milanote is a great app, I use it all the time
Awesome! I'm really enjoying it for keeping my projects and inspiration organized.
Great video! I use Google Slides to storyboard. You can add your slide, then notes below for voice over and or a script.
That's a pretty cool hack. Gives you a built in animatic too.
Oh man, Milanote looks great!
THIS WAS REALLY HELPFUL
Thank you very much. Are you going for the chess tutorial? Would be awesome!! :)
I'm not sure I can teach anyone how to be good at chess though ;)
Big thanks from Algeria :)
You are very welcome from Canada :)
Nice, thank you so much! very helpful
superb tutorial .. nice sound
Hey Evan, that was intense. I have a hard time visualizing things in such a way. Thanks for the tips tho, God bless you and your family always! 🙂🙏

What exactly is missing from milanote?
Really helpful stuff. Thanks so much for this.
Good explanation of boarding👍👍
Are you going to get into animatics next or just dive straight in to animation?

Please, what music are you using?
The music is from the youTube creator studio. I think it's called Majikk.
do you record podcast too? If you aren't already, with that voice, you should !
Lol. Thanks for saying so. I'm actually working on a couple podcasts right now! Although, they are not really design related so they might have limited appeal to fans of this channel :)
@@ECAbrams oh cool let us know when they air ! if you ever get tired of motion you could be a great sounding host on the waves
maravilloso :3
I love you.
FYI, this video is unlisted, in case you meant to make it public!
Interesting. How did you come across it initially? I thought unlisted videos couldn't be seen unless you had the link.

@@kimberlykatiti6969 Very interesting. RUclips has made some changes recently to the creator studio so this may be a fun new feature :)
wasnt this uploaded a month ago or so?
published April 12th, why do you ask?
@@ECAbrams could've sworn i watched this last month. Must be getting it confused :D
