We tried a fried chicken chain that we did not know still even existed. We learned that there was a location in Florence, and a few other locations in South Carolina.
I live in Plant City Florida and we have a Maryland Fried Chicken. Been here for decades. People come from all over for the chicken. I think the coleslaw is awesome. Great video
I have to agree with you on the coleslaw. That was some of the best I've had in a while. I used to go to college in Lakeland, by the way. So, I know your area pretty well.
I don't usually get emotional often but when you mentioned yall shared Christ with Darren and Samantha. This just proves without a doubt that the LORD works in mysterious ways! God's timing is perfect. Never ate at MARYLAND FRIED CHICKEN. My brother lived 5 miles from there in Florence back in the early eighties. Do you remember MINNIE PEARL FRIED CHICKEN restaurants? We had one here in Winston back in the day.
I don't believe I've ever heard of Minnie Pearl Fried Chicken. Sounds like it would be good. Yes, I believe the Lord sent us to share Christ and be a blessing to them yesterday. I hope they are able to get on their feet.
I live in Aynor (you pass through it on 501 to get to and from the beach). There is a Maryland fried chicken in Conway and has been there since before I was born. I enjoy their chicken, but the best thing for me there is the tater tot/fries mix. What a blessing to be in the will of God- at the right place at the right time. Will lift them up in prayer!
Yes, we passed through Aynor, and we also know there's a location in Conway. I mentioned that in the video. And you are correct, it is wonderful to be in the will of God. He sometimes places people in our paths.
Thanks! I sent you a congrats last night on having nearly 10,000 subscribers and would be here to see you hit it. I did not expect it to happen the next morning. You earned it and I hope you do a live soon.
When I think of fried chicken I don't usually think of Maryland. I never heard of Maryland Fried Chicken before. Isn't it wonderful Derrick and Shawnasi how the Lord directs our paths and brings us in contact with people who need Him. Will pray that the Lord will continue to work in their hearts and bring the words that you shared with them to their minds. Thank you for being such obedient and faithful servants of the Lord. God bless.
I live less than 10 minutes away from that place, and have only tried them once through the drive thru at night. But, I guess you have to go during the day, bc it looks better than what we had. 🙏🏽God bless.
I think there used to be one in Bristol Va. but now I think it’s a donut shop or something like that. Congratulations on 10k subscribers!! Thanks for another awesome video!
Congratulations on reaching 10K subs. The Lord is certainly blessing your channel because you use it to honor Him and share great family friendly content. Keep up the great work my friends. This is only the beginning of what God is going to do. So happy for you both. God bless you both.
Oh how I remember Maryland Fried Chicken. The chicken was really good. I'm From Florida and the two chicken restaurants was KFC and Maryland Fried chicken. I'm definitely going to make it a day trip to Florence from Greensboro nc to eat at Maryland Fried chicken for nostalgic reason.
I'm 63 and when I was young around 10 or 11 there was one in Vero Beach off A1A. That was the only time I ever ate at one. My grandfather liked it and ate there alot.
If there was one in Vero Beach, there must have been a couple off of A1A. Because I know we were north of Daytona somewhere. It's been so long, I couldn't even begin to say where it was at, because it's so grown up now.
There is this place in southern MD called Chaptico Market that has the best fried chicken you can get. They also have amazing stuffed ham and if you haven't heard of it look it up. It's worth a trip to St. Mary's county just to try this place out.
Congrats on reaching 10K subscribers. I grew up on the eastern shore of the Maryland area and we had English's famous fried chicken. The chain closed in the 1990s with a single site in Ocean City, open until 2015. they were famous for sweet potato biscuits
Thanks for the congratulations! I knew we were getting close, but I haven't even checked this morning to see if we had reached it. Thank you so much for watching.
I’ve recently found you’re channel. I’m in the upstate of SC so I’m familiar with many of the restaurants you visit. I enjoy you’re content. I was very surprised to see Maryland’s Fried Chicken. We still have a few of them left here. It’s not every bodies taste but they are really known for their gizzards and livers. I’ve never even tried the chicken. Gizzards with hot sauce every time!
I was also surprised to learn there are still a few left. I wanted to try it again, since it had been so long. Thanks so much for watching! Glad you enjoy our videos.
great video delicious chiken… Believe it or not they have a maryland fried chicken in small town hartsville….. keep up the good work Mr Hanks.. drive safe
@@dukemckesson5589 We've been to the Mayflower. It was good. The main thing in this video, was that I was specifically wanting to try a Maryland Fried Chicken again. Not just chicken in general.
Being from Flagler Beach, I can tell you definitely had one in Daytona on Ridgewood Ave. We tried it but always preferred Hamptons on Nova Road🙂 in Daytona also no longer in business. I haven't seen Maryland's Fried Chicken since the late 60s, early 70s nice review, thanks for sharing🙂
You are very welcome. The reason I believe the one I ate at was north of Daytona, was because we always got on a Highway A1A in Ormond Beach, from Highway 40. We would go north from there. It was very rare that we ever started in Daytona Beach. I couldn't tell you exactly what stretch it was, but we would ride A1A from Ormond to St. Augustine. And I think it had to be somewhere in between there. But again, that's been a long, long time ago.
Good morning i love Maryland fried chicken and their chicken livers we have only one left here in Augusta Georgia enjoy your meal and safe travels God bless you both
Glad you were aware of God's timing. Also I ate at MD Fried Chicken every couple of weeks in 1970s in Statesboro, GA while in college. Like you, it was Good but not something to write home about.
Yeah, yesterday's experience there eating the chicken, was not the way I remembered it from years ago. Nothing terrible, but certainly not what I was remembering. But I truly believe God was in the arrangements yesterday.
This is NOt how Marylanders fry chicken. We skillet fry chicken. This is a Delaware method called broasted chicken which is pressure cooked. We also put cream gravy on ours. I get mad with Maryland Fried Chicken it's not.
@FixinToFish Okay, I'm going to have to remove your comment, unless you edit out the inappropriate word. We don't allow that on this channel. You can make the same point and use appropriate language. Thank you in advance.
I;m sorry you had a big let down on the chicken. I live here in Spartanburg SC, and recently went to KFC for the first time in over 20 years. I just got a craving for those spices. Well...no spices! That chicken was a hot, greasy, flavorless mess! I couldn't even detect any salt or pepper! Never again! It's such a let down when things don't taste like you remember them.
Wow, I hate to hear that about Kentucky Fried Chicken. I haven't been since probably last summer. I've always felt they were consistent over the years, but I'm sorry to hear that may be changing. Thanks for watching, and for your comment.
Never said there was, but thank you for the negative comment, nonetheless. There's always one. Tell me you didn't even bother to listen to the intro, without actually telling me.
We have eaten at the one downtown Myrtle beach. It was several years ago. Safe travels home and will be praying for your new friends!!
Thank you!
