  • John chats with Stephen on the process of prepping and assembling out Saga mechanisms. We do not recommend that you take them apart since it is very easy to lose or damage the small parts but we do plan on making a video on how to safely assemble and disassemble the mechanism!

An adjustable watchmaking bench with the angled armrests, would be a stellar assembly station

I know it's part of the ambience but I wonder how easy it would be to remove the high frequency background. If you looked at the frequency space of the audio, it's probably way up top and could just be removed?

Izotope RX is incredible for speech noise reduction and almost entirely automatic!

I would love to see an anodizing video from you. I have built my own anodization machine for dental implants, but I am always curious to see how others prepare the surface and carry out the whole process. Your results look beautiful.

Love that you guys are being innovative in that you take the ammo holders and test tube holders and making them work for your business.. very awesome

As an Engineer, I can see opportunities to make the assembly easier.
e.g. A jig to dispense the balls onto the pens from a reservoir and to hold them in place while the clip is installed. Don't ask me how, exactly, but wouldn't it be nice?
Similarly, a tube that fits just over the threaded part of the pen, tapered so that a spring can be simply slid along it without over-stretch. Several springs could be queued on the tube at once.
We do these things not because they are easy.

P.S. reducing the ambient noise level will make it easier to assemble the tricky bits.
I don't know how smelly the environment remains with all those filters.
      Maintain good lighting.
Task rotation and breaks are important, as are milestone goals during production.

I would agree that taking the mechanism apart is daunting at the least. Very small bearings and bouncy too. Bounce right out of existence. Hoping support can help. Great pen otherwise.

Awesome. But less blue and purple and more Bronze NA, green, black dlc maybe?

I very much enjoy my stainless 17-4 pin. I am curious what type of bronze you make the tips out of.

Wouldn't it make sense to have a silicone mat with a raised edge (fiddle in sailboat terminology) on the work surface to retain the ball bearings if dropped? It would also attenuate the bounce and distance they could travel. Just a thought. Cheers

Highly recommend just setting the auto-focus to a tight centre bias, to prevent the constant mis-focus. Sony cameras have insanely good auto-focus for this kind of purpose.
Other than my eyes feeling like they've had a workout, thank you for the more frequent videos.
p.s. - enjoying my Saga too.

Yeah, or get used to using the AF Lock button which would help a bit, too. He still films faces and selfie mode a lot which is probably why he is reluctant to drop face detect mode?

    • @owain5431
      @owain5431 11 месяцев назад

@@AntiVaganza Yes that is . I just mean a tight centre focus, no face detect, as everything he is filming is close - no outside shooting etc - so you just want it to focus aggressively on whatever is right in the middle of the shot, not averaged over a large area - necessitating the "put your hand behind the object and wait several seconds" technique!

As allways amazing! I think you are a bit to close with high magnification therefore the focus struggles? just a theory.

For whatever reason, taking that year off from shooting videos really hurt you guys.... I'm sure your business is fine and thriving but your youtube channel has all but died. Pain's my soul to see. Hopefully, in time, it'll return to its former glory.

They haven't produced anything new in years. No wonder the hype has dropped.
