Beautiful! Great great grandparents came from Sicily and I wish that I was able to hear stories of the beautiful island of Sicilia, before they passed.

The first language spoken by the People of the Sicilians was Sanskrit, this People came slowly from India, through Asia and Europe using horses as a means of transport when nobody around them did it yet. They left traces of their passage to the shores of the Adriatic Sea on the coast of what was once Yugoslavia, after crossing the sea they moved south and stopped in Sicily.
@xHockeyx4 most are Bilingual, they can speak both italian and sicilian. I also read somewhere that, many regions in italy now have begun to teach there regions dialect in schools.
@MAXIMILIANVS thanks for your answer. I thought about greek nationalism, turkish-greek issues. here are my views: all of the mediterranean peninsula inherited the greco-roman culture, including the north africa and the middle east. and a fact: there are much more ancient greco-roman cities in turkey than italy and greece. have a nice time.

No real difference between walking streets of Sicily and streets of nafplio, corfu, Rhodes, Lepanto etc
That's because Sicily and Greece are brother and sister :)
