I've always wanted a classic Oberheim, at least the sound, Christophe, and this is definitely what I've been dreaming of. A very good presentation on the strengths of the desktop version, that all the most important controls and nobs are present. The updated OS is exciting, particularly regarding the ability to save atrophy settings, that's something there. And it's true, there's nothing on the market that even remotely competes with this at this price. Behringer seems to place a lot of value in the ergonomics of their equipment, it's impressive at the prices. I'm definitely getting one in time.
Thank you for your videos on the UB-Xa and UB-XaD. Your videos have be very helpful. Especially the one explaining the new firmware update. Can you explain how when in split mode how to assign aftertouch to the lower and/or upper half. Also how to assign the filter modulation to the levers. I notice that on some patches when pulling the lever down it seems to close the filter and when in the neutral position, the filter opens up. then if you push the lever forward, modulation happens. The effect is like a horn swell. I Iove this feature but I don't seem to be able to recreate it. Can you help me? Thanks again
Thank you for this great video. You really are into this synth, that's for sure. Question: Would it be possible to use the desktop version to expand the polyphony of the keyboard?
If I get one, I'll get the desktop unit because I don't care for full-size keys. While I can't get a slim key keyboard with poly aftertouch and more than 37 keys, I'm still more comfortable playing my 64 slim key master keyboard and forgoing aftertouch.
Did 2.0 change your mind or is the oberheim / ub sound still not really your thing? I think for £200 more the keyboard and full size knobs seems a better deal if you have the space. I'm also interested in the TEO and OB6.
Tempting but I'm not crazy about the bright, fuzzy sound. I prefer the darker tones of something like the Prophet 5. Also, I have a Novation Summit with a lot more capability. Also, I have the Oberheim app on my iPad.
I played it over DIN via the Multiclock to sync the arpeggiators. I had to push it back a good amount to get it synced. But I don‘t remember exactly in ms! But not much more than on other machines.🤖
Always keyboard! Its something with hardware and the tactile feeling using the keys, as that said I had to admit I have a brunch of desktop / rack synths. This is only for saving space!
I would love the keyboard version, but I like the desktop version. I currently have various synths taking up space.
Best review, best T-shirt and best accent :)

It sounds great!!!!👍
I think they nailed the size for proper ergonomics. Looks to be about the size of the RD-9.

GRACIAS MERCI DANKE for this Video!!!!

no. but 16 voices are more you will ever need with a synth like this! 🤖
so are you going to keep it?

But . .but you will miss out on the poly aftertouch.. life will be so different 😢
Novation Launchpad, some of the models do polyAT, it’s a fun alternative to a keyboard.
Bro, get a Hydrasynth Explorer, slim PT/MPE keys 🎉
I sent my UB-Xa D back after 2 days, it sounds thin in my opinion. Getting a TEO-5 instead.
Vince Clark fan here... How does the panning work? I'd like to incorporate panning into my sequences
Yes!
Does it accept Program changes over Midi? Otherwise it's of no use for me.
of course.
Already out of stock for "several month" on Thomann :/
Go Reds!!
A gift from Ohio! 👍😁
It's interesting that in the US at least the temporary $1000 off the Oberheim OB-X8 is enough to buy a whole UB-Xa keyboard!
Hmm... my Pro 800 is looking nervous...

TEO is SEM like OB6, not really comparable sound wise. You will have much better bottom end with those 2 than a UBXa

Summit blows the UB-Xa away.
Check my mahogany/walnut/cherry side panels for the UB-Xa D on reverb!
What you reckon on the latency? I noticed it's around 15ms on mine, which is quite high. I can even hear it in your intro demo.

😂Will you give it back again?
