Dear Mr. pseudo entitlement... Owhyhee101: the real Hawaiians were all killed off by the ancestors of the so called 'Hawaiians' you see today.... you WILL need to go to the Marquesas Islands to find ancestors of the real Hawaiians who first discovered these special islands... this was 300 yrs before the Tahiti kine invaders came and enslaved tortured and killed off the True Hawaiians.... the Manahune! ps Manahune (w/a's) means 'small worthless person' in Tahititian.. iow a SLAVE! this was mis-translated by Cook Clarke King Vancouver Bligh etc as a 'small person in stature' iow an Elf.. totally wrong! aroha

its tame, its drive through kine lava view... the heat keeps you away. you have to run in and jab your $3 golf club in the lava then run out fast.... its sucks a bit for a second but you feel better when you get $525 on eBay for it...

So, is there an odor of something since there's smoke from it coming down wind or are you too far away from it to smell anything? From a forest fire you smell wood burning. What do you smell from a volcano if anything?

No 1.....if they go, LISTEN....L I S T E N to authority (police, fire, National Park Svc, DLNR, etc) and you be safe and enjoy. We can hate too much tourism I know.....but remember, their visitor $$$$$ spent on car rentals, plane trips, housing, fueling up for the long trips, dining at BI restaurants, shopping at stores on the BI......that helps HAWAII's ECONOMY and helps the locals to stay in business and most important..........have a job and earn a paycheck to support their ohana and holidays.

Why do they say the by-pass road is closer to the flow? Saddle road is closer to the flow than the by-pass road. Why not lower the speed limit to a safer level. “You cannot pass a parked vehicle faster than 25, 30, 35 or 40 mph. Anyone stopped on the side of the road must be completely off the paved section of the road by “10” ft.
