I see some new damage. Whose 2 things in front werent there before. Awesome footage here. Im quite fascinated with this dump. Hi from Toronto Canada 🇨🇦.
The park opened as Jazzland in 2000. It was purchased at bankruptcy by Six Flags in 2002. Hurricane Katrina inundated it in 2005, stopping the drainage pumps from working and corroding almost every ride with brackish water. The City of New Orleans took proprietorship of the park shortly after Six Flags abandoned the park for good in 2009.
It’s sad to see a bunch of rides still standing there for nearly 20 years. I went to New Orleans last month and I saw the roller coasters and the Ferris wheel when we drove past there on the highway when me and my family went on a cruise on Disney Magic. Jester would have been a good one since it goes fully backwards.
So sad to see things like this just go to waste. It's hard to imagine just how much fun used to be in one place. All the memories.😢 People just don't care as much as they used to. It's all about phones in hand now a days.. There's so many abandoned homes and places that people could live in but people don't want anyone having anything anymore. Thank you for your time showing the world that time IS coming to an end. Stay safe and God bless
I love the fact that Six Flags New Orleans is still standing up to this day. I would love to visit and explore this theme park very soon. The Nara Dreamland theme park from Japan had been demolished and the whole theme park is no longer existed. I wish I could visit this theme park someday. The Percy Jackson movie filmed at this park. So cool.
Ive wanted to explore this place for about 8 or so years, but I live in Texas. I have family in Alabama so I drive past it often. I dont think I will ever see inside now due to the high security and now Bayou Phoenix owns it, time is running out.
Are they ever going to do anything with this place or are they just going to let it crumble to the ground? I’d say it’s safe to say there’s nothing that could be saved as far as the rides go so they should just demolish this place and put the land to better use.
hey, first off I love your RUclips videos the cinematics are just awesome. I wanted to get in contact with you, as a youtuber myself I’d like to make a documentary on six flags and was wondering if I could use clips from your video and credit you of course. Hope you get to see this, been subbed for a longtime aswell! Take care.

You are everywhere in these SFNO video comments it's insane. Love the dedication tho
Really sad to see. I went right when they opened, and everything was nice and new. It's a shame no one is going to come in and build a new park.
Why it's going to flood again in New Orleans no matter what

Yea it is sad it would be nice if they rebuilt it
Soon enough everything looks like it is going to come down all by itself. It was cool seeing some good drone footage, thanks for sharing.

So sad the city would let such an amazing park get like that over the years
It was totalled in Katrina
I wonder who moved the Joker's Jukebox ride car infront of the entrance without being noticed
Awesome
For nearly twenty years on, constantly visited by vandals and of course mother nature, it's not looking too bad
Loved the video and what’s the song? I love it

Yea I plan to go back and put together a way more detailed video
what kind of security have they got?
@@geekychik86 I’m not sure maybe like allied security or something like that lol
God I fucking hate Hurricane Katrina.
Looks like some rides have been dismantled.

The rides that were not damaged beyond repair were removed years ago

Yes you can definitely use the clips do you have any contact information
The city really need to demolish this abandon park and return it back to nature and build a conservation center.
