Fairy Tail was so over hated dude. It deserves a lot more love for what it did good but people always look at the bad/dumb parts of the series as say it’s trash. Or haven’t watched it but say it’s trash anyways.

Firstly, the plot is basically about a group of friends on their journey to find the one piece. And along their journey, we see how they impact the world around them. So, there is an overarching plot, but mini sub-plots take place in each arc, which drive the overarching plot forward. Idk why you are using this as a detriment for one piece whilst praising fairy tail when fairy tail has a more obscure plotline. Anyways, animation wise, the recent animation is really good, idk what you're talking about. And if you really care about the animation so much, the manga is another alternative which solves a bigger problem with the series than what you listed, the pacing. Is Fairy Tail the best piece of fiction I've ever consumed?? No. Yet I keep coming back to it like those cookies at Walmart that I KNOW are 99% sugar and hold zero (if not negative) nutritional value. There's just something about them that keep me wanting more. Fairy Tail is the show I put on when I want a good time and genuine emotions. I love all the characters and their relationships, and will defend Fairy Tail to my dying day
i think the thing that makes fairy tail stand out is the same reason it has a lot of power of friendship, and its because while natsu is the main character, the actual protagonist is the fairy tail guild itself. look at the villians, most of them play a role of antaganist to the guild, not just natsu or any of the other main 6 characters. also, when (i cant remember his name rn) the writer wrote fairy tail, he said he wanted to create the same feeling of having drinks with your closest friends, at it acomplishes it. when you watch mha you dont feel like a member of class 1a, naruto you dont feel like a hidden leaf shinobi, but when you watch fairy tail, you really feel like a member of the guild right there with them, theyre just characters, but those characters feel like my friends.
not to mention, they even have well written female characters. for a typical shonen like this, especially one that came out so long ago. lucy, erza, juvia, mavis, wendy, levy, the list goes on. so many well written female characters that are strong but not overally "you got beat by a girl" personality at all.
I’m one of those person who watched fairytail back in 2021 and i don’t understand people who use the argument “well obviously you only like Fairy tail bc it was your fav anime when you where a child” and i’m like no ??? I watched it when i was 19 and i watched it in less than a month i started it early april and finished it april 20/24 (yes i have the hygiene of a racoon leave me alone)
Same here, watched it when I was getting into anime in my 20s. I'm 24 and it's STILL my favorite show ever. I started getting into the social media aspect of it after I finished it and I was surprised people hated it, I thought it was so good I was expecting it to be praised all over. Thankfully it seems like more people are coming around to it again lately with more positive vibes!
I watched fairy tail when I was very young 8 years old probably and I end up forgetting about the anime all together. When I was in high school in freshmen year, I'm like 14 at the time. I watched it again because I remember the anime cause of one scene that I kept through years. I really loved it and its my number 1 anime, I didn't know that there were people hating the anime and i was like so confused of why and now since I'm 21 years old I'm still defending this anime and it still remains my number one spot

The guild hall being felt like our home is so accurate. Fairy Tail is my childhood and one of my favorite anime. I still enjoy watching it every then and now:) that's just how good it is seriously. the manga is really good too, it's as if i can hear there voice in every chapters. Some people might not understand my love to Fairy Tail but for me this is my comfort anime of all time🤍
Tbh i used to be such a hater when i was watching Fairy Tail but, once i saw 100 year quest was coming out i started looking into it again and its way better than i remember. I cant believe the impact of some of the moments from the anime. My favorite moment has to be the flashback Gajeel has about Makarov trying to convince him to join the guild. That shit hit way harder than i remember. Fairy tail has lots of cool characters, great humor, emotional moments, badass moments and the fights are fine as long as you dont take them to seriously. If that wasnt enough the soundtrack is legendary and that is a fact. Chainsaw man, jujutsu kaisen, my hero academia, attack on titan, spy x family any modern anime you can name doesnt have a soundtrack as amazing. There's levels to this shit and none of their osts are anywhere near Fairy Tail's.

Finished the manga yesterday. 5/10 for me. It has very few good elements but way too many flaws. I can't believe some call it peak. What a letdown. I don't regret reading it, that's for sure. It helped pass the time.
@@cheliosx1 Few good elements: Foreshadowing, emotion, hype, artwork, events and matchups, designs and transformations, character development and interactions, villains (MardGeer, Acnologia, Obviously Zeref, Irene, Hades, Jellal, Rogue) power system, themes (time, emotion, love, repentance, etc), parallels, lore, plot twists, quotes. Can you name the flaws? Because if you say power of friendship then you may have to reread it. No insult tho. Just you may have missed a few things. It's good when you don't have people in your ear screaming about how bad it is or telling you to turn your brain off.
@@delanireid I will not be arguing this. As someone that read the manga, it was a letdown to me. If you didn't see any flaws with it, go back and read it. You'll get a better insight into it at a deeper level and not surface level.
Fairy tail is one of my favourite anime. I liked the character developments(from bad guy to good) and the never give up scenes a lot . Laxus and Natsu are some of my top favourites, i remember i loved the surprise scenes( when people get surprised about their power) I wish it aired more often in my country in Europe and elsewhere, i usually watched it with subtitles.
There's so much people miss about fairy tail. Emotions boost power goes over their heads. Emotion, time, repentance are the 3 themes bigger than bonds and friendship yet the community thinks that's fairy tails main theme. Underrated? Heck no. Over hated and misunderstood? YES
People rlly need to know that the power of friendship n family is not a cringe way pushing one forward past their limits… and if they do feel that way then i feel sorry for them
Every year I watch it, I always HAVE TO listen to the openings and endings at least once a month because I start missing this show. I know they talk a lot about friendship and stuff but I guess that’s what attracts me to it, a lot of emotions going on throught the show, I felt like being part of Fairy Tail, this show makes you feel like you’re there going through the scenes, I love it this much
I love Fairy Tail, it's exactly what Mashima wanted to convey. If you unplug your brain and relax, it gives you that warm feeling of friendship and family. It's funny, ALL characters have a unique personality and are very likeable, the emotional moments hit just right and it's simple. My only complaint is about the fights, only a few of them are really good, but that's a problem that starts from Mashima himself. I've watched a lot of things better than Fairy Tail, but it will always be one of my favourites of all time no matter what
I’m rewatching it rn too! And it’s such a comfort anime for me. I actually didn’t get into anime until I was around 16. And I found fairy tail when I was like 20. It pulls at the heart strings so much but is also super funny and unserious. It feels like it’s a really well rounded show. I think that’s why so many keep coming back to it!
Fairy tail is one of the animes I found on Netflix and just started watching it and when I heard that s1 banger I was in love, it’s so good even now in 2024
What really gets under my skin is how people who call Fairy Tail trash will also tell you that every new story by the same author is just Fairy Tail all over again, no matter how different they actually are. Take Edens Zero, for instance. That story follows a gravity boy who travels across space and time looking for a planet-sized space MILF. It's less shy with its brutal moments, it's more plot-driven, and it has a bit more of a cynical tone towards the theme of friendship (for instance, the MC is treated as a weirdo for never shutting up about friendship). Yet people who only read a chapter or two will tell you it's just "Fairy Tail in space" because it has friendship, the same character faces, and different versions of certain characters like Happy (the author likes taking old characters/ideas and using them in new ways, like Osamu Tezuka). It's as if that's all Fairy Tail is to them, and that's all that's worth talking about.
Fairy tail is simply Peak it has everything u want from a good show including Natsu that is my fav male mc in fiction and also the best male mc in fiction bro is such a perfect mc its literally impossible to hate him and im so glad that Happy has the jp va because his jp va is the same va as Kiana from honkai impact 3rd it makes me happy to hear her jp va again since Kiana is my fav female mc in fiction and also the best female mc in fiction period
The good in fairy tail will be so good for Years ahead The bad parts will be bad forever.. overall worth watch, there some hype tied to the show and OST is one of the bests out there

Fairy Tail is my favourite anime of all time. And it is because of the emotions it made me feel and the beautiful connections of the characters. But those are not the only assets of Fairy Tail, along with all the points you mentioned I also love how so many characters are connected to each other in their journey. They're sometimes connected through their past or some other times their goals and values. Fairy Tail in its entirety is a celebration of bonds and friendship and human connection, so I find it stupid when people talk about it like a flaw. I mean yes, friendship is powerful and cherishing our relationships is what Fairy Tail is all about! I don't like it when people dismiss it as being 'childish', like as humans aren't our bonds with our loved ones the most beautiful and significant part of our life? I don't understand what's wrong with encouraging and celebrating that? In fact our society could really use it. Fairy Tail also talks about many nuanced topics regarding life and portrays quite a few complex relationships which are not talked about nearly enough.. About the fanservice, I am an adult woman and I still don't mind the fan service in it. In fact I personally think it can be kinda funny sometimes unlike to some other shounen series where it makes me too uncomfortable to even laugh.. so I think Fairy Tail is over judged on that aspect too. I absolutely love Fairy Tail, I love the characters, the world, the action and the fan-service of course. My only real complaint is that they got rid of the Magic Circles in the anime, they gave the world’s power system a great bit of style.

Watching fairy tail made me realize how much the standard for shounen anime changed over the years. I kinda miss the old goofy era of shounen anime. Now shounen is all seriousness now. After 100 year quest was finally revealed I decided to watch this anime again... I literally stopped at tenrou arc in the DUB and GMG arc in the on SUB... watching it again in the DUB...
reminder that fairytail was barely planned, like Hiro mashima qinged it through most of it, only the most important of plot pieces were planned ahead, for example Zeref being Natsu's older brother was alsways going to happen, but Hiro mashima didnt expect fairytail to do anywhere near aswell as it did, so he didnt put 100% effort into it, and when it started getting popular he wasnt able to fully lock in... and yet he was able to create my favorite anime of all time. it realy says something, im sure many of the problems fairytail has could have been thrown out the window if mashima didnt think he wouldnt do well

Most importantly: Power of friendship was NEVER used in this series unless you mean metaphorically which every shonen does. Zeref lost because emotions boost power and Mavis activated the curse, Acnologia died because he split his power, lost an arm, was bound to fairy sphere and motion sickness, and had to fight the entire continent while taking a blow from a severely amped Natsu without blocking it in his human form. Neither fights had any mention of friends other than Cobra revealing that he has some to fight for (as he gets his arm broken) Imma disagree with the generic part. What about Fairy tail is predictable? I've been thinking lately and you mean to tell me that people predicted someone from the future to be Rogue and attack with an army of dragons or them to go to an island that gets interrupted by a previous master or Zeref to be an emperor or them to go into a different dimension. Reminds me of ppl saying dbz was predictable as if they predicted dr Gero and future Trunks or fusion. Don't get me wrong it has every element that a shonen should have but by that logic... every shonen is generic. Also fanservice isn't nearly as much in canon. That's ovas, movies, and side stories that people look at. Without that it's slightly above average for shonen. And I'll add that the anime studio added a lot more for no reason.
Fairy tail such a great anime. It has very big flaws, BUT it makes certain things as perfect as possible so it’s immortalize itself into one of the greatest anime of all time. The soundtrack is goated asf, the characters are very likable and the emotional moments are besides to Naruto the best of all of anime.

not to mention, they even have well written female characters. for a typical shonen like this, especially one that came out so long ago. lucy, erza, juvia, mavis, wendy, levy, the list goes on. so many well written female characters that are strong but not overally "you got beat by a girl" personality at all.

I’m one of those person who watched fairytail back in 2021 and i don’t understand people who use the argument “well obviously you only like Fairy tail bc it was your fav anime when you where a child” and i’m like no ??? I started getting into the social media aspect of it after I finished it and I was surprised people hated it, I thought it was so good I was expecting it to be praised all over. Thankfully it seems like more people are coming around to it again lately with more positive vibes!
I watched fairy tail when I was very young 8 years old probably and I end up forgetting about the anime all together. When I was in high school in freshmen year, I'm like 14 at the time. I watched it again because I remember the anime cause of one scene that I kept through years. I really loved it and its my number 1 anime, I didn't know that there were people hating the anime and i was like so confused of why and now since I'm 21 years old I'm still defending this anime and it still remains my number one spot

The guild hall being felt like our home is so accurate. Fairy Tail is my childhood and one of my favorite anime. I still enjoy watching it every then and now:) that's just how good it is seriously. the manga is really good too, it's as if i can hear there voice in every chapters. Some people might not understand my love to Fairy Tail but for me this is my comfort anime of all time🤍

Tbh i used to be such a hater when i was watching Fairy Tail but, once i saw 100 year quest was coming out i started looking into it again and its way better than i remember. I cant believe the impact of some of the moments from the anime. My favorite moment has to be the flashback Gajeel has about Makarov trying to convince him to join the guild. That shit hit way harder than i remember. Fairy tail has lots of cool characters, great humor, emotional moments, badass moments and the fights are fine as long as you dont take them to seriously. If that wasnt enough the soundtrack is legendary and that is a fact. Chainsaw man, jujutsu kaisen, my hero academia, attack on titan, spy x family any modern anime you can name doesnt have a soundtrack as amazing. There's levels to this shit and none of their osts are anywhere near Fairy Tail's.

Finished the manga yesterday. 5/10 for me. It has very few good elements but way too many flaws. I can't believe some call it peak. What a letdown. I don't regret reading it, that's for sure. It helped pass the time.
@@cheliosx1 Few good elements: Foreshadowing, emotion, hype, artwork, events and matchups, designs and transformations, character development and interactions, villains (MardGeer, Acnologia, Obviously Zeref, Irene, Hades, Jellal, Rogue) power system, themes (time, emotion, love, repentance, etc), parallels, lore, plot twists, quotes.
Can you name the flaws? Because if you say power of friendship then you may have to reread it. No insult tho. Just you may have missed a few things. It's good when you don't have people in your ear screaming about how bad it is or telling you to turn your brain off.

I liked the character developments(from bad guy to good) and the never give up scenes a lot .
Laxus and Natsu are some of my top favourites, i remember i loved the surprise scenes( when people get surprised about their power)

I love Fairy Tail, it's exactly what Mashima wanted to convey. If you unplug your brain and relax, it gives you that warm feeling of friendship and family. It's funny, ALL characters have a unique personality and are very likeable, the emotional moments hit just right and it's simple. My only complaint is about the fights, only a few of them are really good, but that's a problem that starts from Mashima himself. I've watched a lot of things better than Fairy Tail, but it will always be one of my favourites of all time no matter what
I’m rewatching it rn too! And it’s such a comfort anime for me. I actually didn’t get into anime until I was around 16. And I found fairy tail when I was like 20. It pulls at the heart strings so much but is also super funny and unserious. It feels like it’s a really well rounded show. I think that’s why so many keep coming back to it!

What really gets under my skin is how people who call Fairy Tail trash will also tell you that every new story by the same author is just Fairy Tail all over again, no matter how different they actually are.
Take Edens Zero, for instance. That story follows a gravity boy who travels across space and time looking for a planet-sized space MILF. It's less shy with its brutal moments, it's more plot-driven, and it has a bit more of a cynical tone towards the theme of friendship (for instance, the MC is treated as a weirdo for never shutting up about friendship). Yet people who only read a chapter or two will tell you it's just "Fairy Tail in space" because it has friendship, the same character faces, and different versions of certain characters like Happy (the author likes taking old characters/ideas and using them in new ways, like Osamu Tezuka). It's as if that's all Fairy Tail is to them, and that's all that's worth talking about.
Fairy tail is simply Peak it has everything u want from a good show including Natsu that is my fav male mc in fiction and also the best male mc in fiction bro is such a perfect mc its literally impossible to hate him and im so glad that Happy has the jp va because his jp va is the same va as Kiana from honkai impact 3rd it makes me happy to hear her jp va again since Kiana is my fav female mc in fiction and also the best female mc in fiction period

Fairy Tail was one of my first anime and it'll always be one of my favorites. It may not be the best in many ways but it holds a special place for me. I'm actually so excited that 100 year quest is finally out

But those are not the only assets of Fairy Tail, along with all the points you mentioned I also love how so many characters are connected to each other in their journey. They're sometimes connected through their past or some other times their goals and values.
Fairy Tail in its entirety is a celebration of bonds and friendship and human connection, so I find it stupid when people talk about it like a flaw. I mean yes, friendship is powerful and cherishing our relationships is what Fairy Tail is all about! I don't like it when people dismiss it as being 'childish', like as humans aren't our bonds with our loved ones the most beautiful and significant part of our life? I don't understand what's wrong with encouraging and celebrating that? In fact our society could really use it. Fairy Tail also talks about many nuanced topics regarding life and portrays quite a few complex relationships which are not talked about nearly enough..
About the fanservice, I am an adult woman and I still don't mind the fan service in it. In fact I personally think it can be kinda funny sometimes unlike to some other shounen series where it makes me too uncomfortable to even laugh.. so I think Fairy Tail is over judged on that aspect too.

reminder that fairytail was barely planned, like Hiro mashima qinged it through most of it, only the most important of plot pieces were planned ahead, for example Zeref being Natsu's older brother was alsways going to happen, but Hiro mashima didnt expect fairytail to do anywhere near aswell as it did, so he didnt put 100% effort into it, and when it started getting popular he wasnt able to fully lock in... and yet he was able to create my favorite anime of all time. it realy says something, im sure many of the problems fairytail has could have been thrown out the window if mashima didnt think he wouldnt do well

i started two weeks ago. I’ve been binge watching ever since and currently i’m on episode 223
Most importantly: Power of friendship was NEVER used in this series unless you mean metaphorically which every shonen does. Zeref lost because emotions boost power and Mavis activated the curse, Acnologia died because he split his power, lost an arm, was bound to fairy sphere and motion sickness, and had to fight the entire continent while taking a blow from a severely amped Natsu without blocking it in his human form. Neither fights had any mention of friends other than Cobra revealing that he has some to fight for (as he gets his arm broken)
Imma disagree with the generic part. What about Fairy tail is predictable? I've been thinking lately and you mean to tell me that people predicted someone from the future to be Rogue and attack with an army of dragons or them to go to an island that gets interrupted by a previous master or Zeref to be an emperor or them to go into a different dimension. Reminds me of ppl saying dbz was predictable as if they predicted dr Gero and future Trunks or fusion.
Don't get me wrong it has every element that a shonen should have but by that logic... every shonen is generic.
Also fanservice isn't nearly as much in canon. That's ovas, movies, and side stories that people look at. Without that it's slightly above average for shonen. And I'll add that the anime studio added a lot more for no reason.
Fairy tail such a great anime. It has very big flaws, BUT it makes certain things as perfect as possible so it’s immortalize itself into one of the greatest anime of all time. The soundtrack is goated asf, the characters are very likable and the emotional moments are besides to Naruto the best of all of anime.
