David Blaine is one of the best and most highly respected magicians ever. He sells out shows across the country and to book him for a private event is probably over $20,000. I never got why someone would hate on him most likely jealousy
I figured out the trick at 1:35. When he flips the 8 the 2 is actually under that facing up which we can't see and when he flips it the 2 ends up on top and that's the card he gives the guy to hold. At this point the 8 is actually in David's hand sitting at the top of the deck and he then pulls out a second 2 of hearts from under the 8 which he planted there ahead of time and he picks up both the 8 as the 2 under it. Then he shakes it around and does a sleight of hand technique to switch the 2 with the 8. Basically there are two 2 of hearts and one 8 that he pretends to give back. Even at .25 speed it's very hard to pick up on.
It's cool to see Blaine when he started out. I don't like that he did 3 similar card effects in a row..the last one was the best, he could've just done that and left them speechless.. but with each previous effect it takes away from the final reaction
I listened to it 3 times when I watched and it sounded so familiar, I thought it was that fast punk style song off Foo Fighters’ first album, with lyrics like “take it to the mailman, playing with the 5 hand, pissin on the big state, miss it and I can’t wait”. I screwed those up but FF fans will know the song I’m talking about. I can’t think of the name. Wattershed maybe? The main riff definitely sounds close to whatever song you’re talking about.
