    Which Mountain did you think was easiest in the winter? Stay Safe out there everyone!

    Very challenging to do the 4000 footers in the winter. Beautiful scenery from the peaks when there was a view.

      Yes one of the hardest things I've done recently but I was glad there were the nice views as a reward!

    Recently (early April).hiked both Pierce And Tecumseh. I'd do Pierce any day over Tecumseh. Tecumseh was grueling with relentless incline (after 'view'l).

    • @AdamHoyt
      @AdamHoyt  4 месяца назад

      I mean that could be fair it does have that endless stair climb. and the Pierce view is so much better than the Tecumseh one any day!

    Nice hike I could put up with the snow once or twice a year, but that’s about it😊

      I'll admit it is certainly not my favorite experience in the world. haha I still much prefer summer hiking lol.

    Mt Tom looks pretty tough with all 3

    • @AdamHoyt
      @AdamHoyt  6 месяцев назад

      Ya i found that one hard to place it is a li g day for all three but it’s the easiest three you can combo and if you did Tom by itself it would be very easy solo. Compared to the other solo hikes.

    I would caution that Eisenhower is not traditionally hiked via Edmands Path in the winter. Tack it onto your Pierce summit for a total distance of 8.75 miles. It’s a great hike and has no road walk.

    Hey it’s the Eisenhower video finally! Looks like I didn’t miss many views by turning around that day when I did.
    I hope so see you out there again one day!

    • @AdamHoyt
      @AdamHoyt  7 месяцев назад

      Yes that's right! OO you might have. Word on the trail was that it was clearer earlier in the morning (summit above the clouds), which is when you would have probably summited. I take so long to hike when I film that the clouds had started to lift just when I arrived and caused me all those visibility problems. Either way it still would have been crazy windy and cold as ********. But hope we run into each other again someday!

    On the longer side, I’d add Mt. Isolation with the 2 bushwhacks if the stream crossing is bridged. Not that it’s as easy as some of the peaks on your list, but because a winter hike can be easier and shorter than the summer (wet) one. And views of the birch tree forest is not usually available in the warmer months. So it's a good one to get off your NH48 list in the winter.
    If it’s clear, stunning views of the snow peaked preseidentials awaits you as a bonus.

    • @AdamHoyt
      @AdamHoyt  7 месяцев назад

      OO I had not considered this summit. But a good idea to keep in mind. It had not occurred to me that any of the summits winter routes could be possibly easier than the summer route. Can't wait till I finally hike it!

    • @laurasoule2771
      @laurasoule2771 6 месяцев назад

      I agree, Isolation is definitely easier in the winter once the bushwhacks and ice bridges set up. Relatively short (~11.4 miles), too.

    There are NO EASY winter 4000 foot hikes in the White Mtns. The weather is unpredictable and just look at the number of rescues and deaths, even of experienced hikers.... you are a fool

    The thing that makes the Garfield trail really nice is that it more or less was routed upon the jeep road to the former fire lookout at the summit of Mt Garfield.
